I feel like ken is running a smart series. He is running his pace and he is on a mission to win a championship. No reason for him to go bar to bar with Tomac this early and have an injury. With that said I think if he railed the outside web would not of past him and I hope that will not cost him in the end.
Gabriel Grigonis Yeah. Looks like he tried to secure it but was too much in his head and failed at it.
He was trying to protect the inside but he over jumped and went past it a bit that’s how Web got him. It’s smarter to take the very inside cause if Webb was to go out Ken could have came across for a block pass. His over jumping cost him other than that this year Ken doesn’t make very many or hardly any mistakes he’s very smooth.
well hes foot is injured, but ken hasnt posted if its broken or not. if it is.. season will just go down the spiral

Yes! These clips are amazing. I’m sure it will be down to copyright etc but I’d happily watch them at the end of the season - just release everyone’s full race POV for every round; that would be incredible.
They have a contract with Feld not to show the whole things. It's always been that way

I was just thinking the same thing. I watch the extended highlights every Sunday and the GoPro versions on Monday. These are awesome!

Ken is too nice at times. Unbelievable rider, smoothest guy out there, but he gets a little complacent towards the end.
When you have Webb behind you, you can't give him an inch. Webb is a pit bull that never gives up.

Ken seems so much smoother. That honda is so smooth and silent.
It's silent on camera because he rides ahead of sound. No way it's anymore quiter than the others. What is true, is that he doesn't overrev the engine unless it's really needed.

Ken is probably the fastest “smooth” rider I’ve witnessed…… if he “Dungeys” the series…… he will win it all. He rode very smart. Almost seems he was geared too tall the way he was riding.
He rides w,/ less revs, more bottom end power, perfect traction surgical style.he was wise to just finish, no need to get risky, lots of races left
2:50 panic revs saves him from wiping , he got tired last few laps or he would have one , still great ride Kenny keep getting those starts !!!
Hard to tell with the go-pro, (we can't see the attitude of the bike), but it seems like just a little "attitude adjustment" to me, (and very common). The panic rev has kept a few endo's from happening though, a couple I remember personally too. :)

Yeah sure when tomac is on he is good but how often is he on? It's not the fastest rider that wins the title it's the smartest rider that wins. And tomac doesn't have the best track record in supercross with crashes, mistakes, and bad starts he just isn't a supercross kind of guy

Or they don't have the speed. Remember Roczen was following Tomac for a long time before he went off track. Eli just got urgent and found extra speed that Roczen couldn't match.

I don't have any 4-stroke riding exp to speak of, but it seems to me the 2-strokes took more skill to ride. Many pros today have no idea how we used the clutch, for one example. Pinning the throttle open entering a corner, and feeding out the power with the clutch one gear higher than normal alone, took more skill than just rolling on the throttle. You can argue the 4-stroke has better, easier to ride power, and I would agree. But like I said, it seems to take more talent to ride a 2-stroke fast. a 4-stroke has a way of making you a lazy racer, and a 2-stroke would punish a lazy racer.

EarthSurferUSA I have a yz125 and I ride my dad’s yz250fx. you can have a four stroke low in the revs, but you cannot have a two stroke low in the revs. There is no power there! My 125 has taught me to be active while on the bike, not passive. You can kick back and relax on the four stroke. Just make sure your weight is distributed right because you don’t want to get hit by all that 250.

Roczen’s bike sounds do smooth, and damn Tomac is fast.
First minute im thinking no one can ride faster than Ken. But knew Tomac was lurking. Tomac carries so much speed through corners and especially straight aways. On hair pin turns he accelerates faster than anyone else.
Ken just handed that 2nd place to Webb. Going into the last couple laps how many seconds was Webb behind him?3-5 seconds? and then he gave up the inside line in the last corner.
Come on Ken, those points are important.
That pass right there could be the difference between winning the championship or not.

For most of the SX corners, there is no inside line. Nobody can even form a rut for one,--or they get passed on the outside. If you can't do the next rhythm section at speed from the inside, nobody is going to take it, and nobody can really protect themselves from a block pass. That was a great pass Webb did. He made it a straight line block pass off the back side of the last jump into the corner. That was one of the more creative lines I have seen in a while for a block pass.
I was at Oakland last year and noticed Ken slows down a lot when tight tracks get super rutty. He did way better than I thought he would, but it sucks Cooper passed him last turn. He's got his number. I hope he can pick Cooper off for a win this year.
Ethan Dean I hear you but now after seeing the GoPro footage for pros that track wasn’t even as rutted as I thought it was on TV, I’m sure he knew what he had to do he just missed that inside line by a tiny bit and you can’t do that with Webb right there......

Can I point out, how 2 can fight for the lead, without crashing into each other. (see Barcia). And DeFerandis gets too much grief IMO. Barcia seems like he is about to t-bone everyone, then backs off

Ken's amazing but Eli was going a good 8% faster, when Ken follows Eli's lines he struggled slightly

Tomac seems a lot quicker on the throttle leaving corners
That is very helpful when trying to pass somebody on the next straight. But these are rhythm sections that have to be ridden at pretty much the same speed, so a guy with great corner exit speed is actually slowing down a bit before the section if they are jumping it the same way. We can see passing out of a corner in the whoops still, but the rhythm sections killed passing out of the previous corner on the next straight,---so it has to be a block pass in the next corner.

Roxzen’s gearing was too tall for that track, yet conservative. Tomac has a lower gearing, thus allowing him to travel a shorter distance in a quicker time. Basically its a drag from corner to corner.
Todd Souza dude I’m 100% positive you do not know what you’re talking about they can make a rear wheel change and sprocket change in about 13 seconds. that’s how Kenny likes his bike set up they wouldn’t have missed the set up dude you’re definitely wrong!

Bad night for Kenny....leading, gets passed, Tomac crashes gets up and passes him AGAIN...then Webb stuffs him in the last turn. Podium is good but lets be honest, he didnt have it in Oakland.
For Kenny, it looks to be a pretty big difference between a 12 lap race (Triple crown races), and a 20 lap race. But, the starts is all that really counts for the top 8 racers, and he seems to have the starts down well.

It actually helps a lot, it's valuable information and riders read it every lap.
