    I respect your takes. I'm new to DBD only been playing the past 2 months but super invested with like 400 hours played already and was sad to see the "comp" scene the way it is.
    Personally with my little experience the biggest problem i see with the comp scene, *ASIDE* from all the unavoidable RNG, is the fact that nobody outside of the wider DBD community know's it exists(even then id wager alot of the general player base doesn't know it exists). What this means is there are no new "competitive" players coming into the game. Usually with comp focused games they will constantly have fresh blood in the form of sweaty players of other games cycling in to compete, DBD definitely does not have this, what i've seen from watching alot of comp and indulging in the "scene" is that its the same old players vs'ing each other and this is probably a result of the RNG present in the game and nobody taking it seriously.
    Would be interesting to see someone mod the hell out of the game and run their own servers but that shit would definitely probably be illegal asf.

    I got introduced to DbD by a friend back in Xmas 2017. Needless to say that I fell in love with the game and its vibe but I didn't play it until summer 2018 on bbq event. I met my bestie through the friend who introduced me to the game. These are the best memories from that time. I'm feeling nostalgic however, as soon as I got to know how toxic the community is the game lost its shine. I don't think DBD comp disbanding is a good thing. I'd never want to be a part of DBD tournaments because I most certainly would have a bad performance, and I just can't have that, especially in front of a large, competitive-seeking audience. But I always saw their attempts at making DBD competitive as hinting to the devs to make the game balanced. DBD is not balanced at all right now, hence the 150 rules and perk bans the tournament people had to do. I didn't let the idea of, "Comp DBD is a joke" overrule the importance of what it really meant. With comp DBD dying, I'm afraid we might see the devs take the wrong message and crank the "balance around casuals" strategy up to 11. You know they will. And even as the game stands now, I don't know how much more I can take. You CANNOT PLAY as killer.

      The fact that there is no real way to monetize an eSport around this game should be all the evidence we need to know that they will lean into making the game the most fun for casual players. At the end of the day they are a company looking to make money so they can pay their own bills.
      He used Smash as an example in this video, it is another competitive scene riddled with problems that come from the grassroots community. At least the game itself can be marketed as an eSport, but lots of competitive minded people likely should find their kicks in something else.

    Comparing DBDCA to Team Liquid/C9 is hillarious. DBDCA was an attempt at a "Governing Body" over DBD Comp. Team Liquid and Cloud 9 are organisations of teams across various games as a business model. C9 has no say in how Esports across any game is ran. They put money towards putting teams of good players in tournaments to earn money as a business model. If you wanted to make an actual comparison you should be comparing DBDCA to ESL as that's an actual valid comparison.
    Comp DBD is literally just a name given by the community to anyone that participates in pre-organised matches outside of the regular queue. Why is that such a bad thing? Why is wanting to not deal with randomly determined toxic opponents/teammates a thing worth hating? I never understood why DBD players are so divided. Pubs vs Comp. Players vs Devs. New Players vs Experienced Players. Killer vs Survivors. It doesn't make sense to me (and never did), why everyone in this community hates everyone else.
    I encourage anyone who's gonna talk shit to watch SpookyLoopz's video with the Comp players titled "I Joined a Pro DBD Team for a Day". Throughout it the players give their thoughts on various aspects of the game and especially the 21:21 section, and the 29:00 section. To understand it a bit more.
    P.S. I've never seen this channel, I'm only here because it came across while I was searching for videos on players quitting DBD. Idk what stance you have on Comp but I assume it's pretty negative. The only reason this game doesn't have an official comp scene is because BHVR hasn't chosen to endorse it. Without BHVR's support DBD will never have a functional Comp Scene. But I can truly say that if I ever went back to DBD. I'd rather play in a match that doesn't exclusively rely on me hoping I don't get a Nurse player abusing the strongest add-ons, or a group of 4 toxic survivors with an ego.

    • @Rosie199X
      @Rosie199X  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It’s a joke because those are real organizations. Dbd league isn’t lol
      Preset matches doesn’t make something comp because then any kyf is considered comp. Comp is something else. They identify as it and it’s based around bad rules that are too far from base game
      People make fun of comp because comp makes fun of them. This is all explained in this video my friend.
      Also bhvr’s endorsement means nothing. Nintendo didn’t endorse melee for years and has never endorsed PM ever. But the scenes for those games continue regardless. The scene doesn’t exist because it’s illegitimate and trash

    • @v1p3r62
      @v1p3r62 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Rosie199X Again. "Real" in this context is subjective. Nothing gaming related is technically "real". My point was that Liquid and C9 are ORGs not Tournament hosts. Comparing them is completely pointless. It's like comparing Steam to Google. They function in completely different ways and provide a completely different element of something. Hence my point that a better comparison would be ESL.
      I agree that purely being preset doesn't make something comp. Hence why I said balanced around a ruleset. The reason it's far from the Base game is because the Base game isn't, and can never be balanced because of its Asym nature.
      And again I encourage you to watch the video I pointed out above and see for yourself that no one is making fun of people for not playing comp. It's simply the way some people enjoy playing the game.
      DBD Comp is failing due to a lack of structure. There's so many different tournaments and the prize pools are small meaning no meaningful things can happen in the community without outside intervention. Just because one game pulled it off doesn't mean another can. Look at the money that Ubisoft pumps into Rainbow 6 Esports.
      DBD League is no more or less real than any tournament provider in any random game. What makes them "Real" is the legitimacy which can't be achieved in DBD due to the complete division in the community where everyone hates everyone for absolutely no reason.
      In general I just don't get why people have to hate others for enjoying a game differently? It's like when people complain about players playing survivor, or players playing killer. Just let them enjoy the game the way they want to enjoy it. The comp scene is a relatively big portion of the game and people find it fun. So what's the problem? Again I just never understood why DBD players and the community as a whole became so toxic for seemingly no reason. I think everyone should get to enjoy the game in the way they find fun. Afterall that's what gaming is about.

    • @Rosie199X
      @Rosie199X  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@v1p3r62 No, it's def not subjective at all. They have an objective space in comp gaming. DBD comp doesn't have that because the idea is inherently flawed and a joke. Also you've missed the point of the comparison. They aren't just players governing other players. They're a legit organization. They're more than a title.
      But all the rulesets are clownshow jokes. Do you even remember how laughable Best of the Best was? The game can certainly be balanced normally. Please research Identity V. Please. That argument is old and flawed.
      No we are making fun of them for playing comp and then looking down on the rest of us. That's the issue. You can't go comp in a game with no scene. You can just decide you are part of comp today and then you are. You can form your own league right now. That is not a legitimate structure and you know it.
      Oh wait, there it is. Yes, you do see there's no structure. That's because nothing about the scene is legitimate. There's no rock to stand on. If the idea inherently worked, it would not need nearly as much help as you think it would. You're asking BHVR to drag these clowns along and it's just a complete waste of their time to do so because they know, like the rest if us, that they are not actually high level, their scene is illegitimate, and they offer nothing to improve the game.
      Oh no, they're less real. The inmates are running the asylum. That's why it's less real. There's nothing for any objective organization to get behind when it comes to the idea of comp dbd. It's a waste of their time. That's why the inmates have to do it. Everyone hates them because they've decided to demean the rest of the playerbase. They've decided to create their own reputation as narcissistic pricks. That is the culture they have built and they have furnished for themselves. That's on them. Again, real comp scenes do not act anything like they do. They are built on respect.
      There is no problem with that. Again, it's what I say in the video. Go have your tournaments. Have a blast. Don't come and say everyone else sucks, they're objectively comp and the best players, BHVR should care about what they're doing, and the way we play is wrong. You seem very unaware of the way they have built themselves in this space. They aren't accepted in part because they chose to bunker themselves in a hive mind and ignore the legit criticisms of their scene. Not only ignore (which would be fine. Just keep going) but pretend the rest of us our stupid for even saying them. They've earned their reputation. And if that video doesn't talk about it, it's wrong

      @@Rosie199X Comp Players don't even look down on everyone. The "Comp SWFs" creator's face aren't even comp players 99% of the time. Comp DBD refers to a community who want a more balanced and organised experience of the game. It's like comparing Ranked players in a game like CS:GO to Casual players. The ranked players look for more balanced and a fairer approach to the game.
      Comp DBD is based on a BO3 killer matched game, therefore both sides face the same killer. Public Games are a 1v4 killer vs survivors, which people are hating on and can never be balanced. Comp DBD is Killer vs Killer and Survivors vs Survivors. It means you don't have to play Nurse every game like Public games tend to go at higher MMR.
      People say DBD Comp can't work as a result of the game being asymmetrical.... which is percisely why a killer-matched format exists. The killer players compete to see which one of the 2 can provide the better result for their team. A weak killer like Freddy, or Pig, will rarely get good games in a public setting because of how strong survivors are. But if you not take the focus off of having to kill all the survivors to win, to simply hooking/killing more than the other team's killer, it provides a setting where every killer has their place and are playing for a different result.
      Hating on DBD Comp is just a bunch of people insecure in their position because I bet 90% of people hating on Comp are also hating on MMR because it's "too hard" and they simply want to face new players all the time to have "fun". Nothing about needing to win to have fun sounds "Casual" to me.
      DBD as a whole is a mess, and Pub vs Comp is just fueling the toxicity. Every comp player I interacted with during my brief period playing it was against playing public games because we simply didn't find it fun. We played comp because it offered a more balanced experience of the game that made more sense to us. So all these "Comp Bully SWFs" you see in Pub games are usually just a bunch of toxic people that will play like that regardless of comp existing or not.
      In-fact a fall of comp would mean 1 of 2 things. Either most current comp players would quit the game (because they don't play public games), or Public games will see a flood of Comp teams that now have nowhere to play so are forced to play pubs.
