My buddy let me play with this puzzle and I took it apart in 30 minutes. He left it with me to put it back together , and it took three days too look up this video onhow to reassemble it. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this... This is probably the most difficult reassemble that I have yet encountered. Your explanation is the clearest and most accurate I've come across. But even still I run into issues if you don't turn things just the right way and it jams me all up and I got to start over. Nevertheless yours is the best I found so thanks!
Hello, at first, please be very conciliant with my "english style" and writing, wich are really aproximative... I can say that I love this quartet puzzle, and I always make it with a very long and complicated solution.. So, I searched during a long time (over than ten years!) for a simply solution that I never found!!! I was sure it was possible te "reassemblate" the quartet after the first center square , but I never found the special move. And then, I saw your video!!! It took me many tests to find the exact position for the two last moves, but finally, I succed. Fantastic solution! Very simply. Great thanks for you from France! I definitively consider you as "The Great Master" of this Quartet puzzle !!!
Great tutorial, I think one added tip for anyone is to make sure the words @HANAYANA are on the left side when you join them together. The rotation will be different if QUARTET is on the left.
It amazing how you made such a complex puzzle look so simple! I would just make a personal comment: this solution it requiring such a precise positioning for the critical rotation that it seems to be close to the manufacturing tolerance of the pieces. On my own model I had to use just a bit of force the first times. After a couple of assembly/disassembly, the edges seem a bit worn just enough to make the very same move almost smoothly. Still a very clever solution! Thanks!
Thanks! It's interesting you say that because I solved this one again last week and I found that it doesn't work one way round but did work the other way around. I also didn't ever have to use force... it'd be interesting to get to the bottom of it.
I have identified 4 possible positions, seemingly identical but actually presenting different parts/sides for the critical move. I agree that they require different levels of force.
@@ikspe01 This puzzle does not require force. The first move you have to spread the pieces exactly right to get the Quartet piece around the corner. Pay close attention to Ross's instructions.
@@bubber4444 as I mentioned earlier, it's most likely close to the manufacturing accuracy of the parts. It might require just a bit of force on my model, and not on yours. Thank you!!! This was the easiest video to follow, this puzzle is HARD for me to put back together, was nice and easy to follow and put mine back together.
Great job. To those trying to solve be careful about using the "Quartet" or "Hanayama" markings you see in the video as any sort of guide. That first bit on the assembly at 3:30 - just remember that the two pieces laying parallel to the table must ultimately form a nice square at 4:05 - which means they need to form a nice square by themselves. It has to be super precise. One thing I didn't explain very well is that you go around the corner and also rotate it at the same time. Give that a go and let me know how you get on.

This is the newest version of the Quartet. Those first two moves have to be super precise. The second one involves two moves at the same time, so as you twist around the corner, you also rotate. I hope this helps.
At 4:25 you don't just come around that corner, you also rotated the piece CCW (in respect to your right hand). That move is the worst and gets the puzzle stuck or surface scratched if you accidentaly apply force. I don't see how you easily did that move.
That's right, I should have described that move better. There's definitely a sweet spot for that move that shouldn't get stuck or scratch the surface. I don't quite get it right at first but then a small adjustment and it moves easily. If you look at the same move in reverse at the 2:00 mark, you'll see it glides around easily. rolled it in my hand & let it hit the floor
.....and it solved itself. so mad
Haha it doesn't matter how it comes apart. Well done... I think
Mine is broken
I'm very tempted to just file off the damn corners on this thing, the engineering is perhaps TOO precise for my extremely low dexterity to be able to move the pieces into their proper places
well I eventually got it but essentially had to apply a considerable amount of force to do so
@@JosephCoxH Well done for getting it apart! It's impressive how precise they have to be.

you soaked it in some magic oil, didn't ya? (hahaha, it's taking me a while to assemble it :)
I was solved it.
Awesome! Well done Marcell
@@RossDM Thanks.
Mine will not do the final rotation. I hate this puzzle.
It has to be super precise. Are you taking apart or putting it back together?
SIMPLE?!
КАКИЕ У ТЕБЯ ЕСТЬ ГОЛОВОЛОК ОНА У МЕНЯ ТОЖЕ ЕСТЬ
This solution doesn't work on original puzzle. This version is for dumps, as I see.
What's a 'dumps'?
This is messed up. Stop calling it "acute angle", The parts are stamped with "Hamayama" and "Quartet". On another video, they said they have only 2 stamped parts. I have 3 stamped parts and one blank. Easy enough to match them up. Following your directions, I notice you are spinning the parts to fit as you want without saying you are spinning them into a different orientation. I follow your directions to perfection, yet my parts are not oriented the same way as yours. Fail!
don't watch this after 2 Min of failing
I must suck at life cuz i can not get it back together to save my life
Which bit are you stuck at?
@@RossDM i just can not figure out how to get it back together i got them apart but I tried doing what I think you did but just can't figure it out
@@mr.crickinyaneck8657 Is it the bit with the 4 crossovers or the final turn around the corner?
@@RossDM the whole process of getting it back together really
@@mr.crickinyaneck8657 Ok, maybe try watching it at a slower speed?
I am still stuck on the first part💀
Did you manage it?
Sub*
Disagree first part is easy the first around the side move can not do it
I think i broke my puzzle. help ;-;
How?
Bro that puzzle sus!!! ☠️☠️☠️☠️
Too hard
Keep going, you can do it
Terrible explication.
Really Dude? Pathetic. Just sad.
You seem upset. What's up?
I still don’t understand the first part when you connect the two pieces
