When watching the films and reading the books as a kid, I had always felt that Severus snape is one of the good ones. Harry will and always be my favorite and so will Severus Snape.
I didn’t understand why I was so drawn to him as a child but when I start to grow up and started to notice why he was the way he was, I honestly couldn’t fault him. Brilliant character and so misunderstood. And his love was pure and genuine, he never strikes me as creepy with his love for lily. It didn’t seem like romantic love but more so as unconditional love. As love comes in many forms, when you know someone who accepts you as a person. Your heart will never forget them, lily wasn’t perfect either. Personally she wasn’t nice truthful but she was there for him. Severus snape will forever be my hero as well as Harry, both have done so much for the war and world they live in.
Yes, Alan Rickman was made for this role and I still miss him very much. bless his soul and Severus! May they know peace and happiness

Severus Snape was definitely one of the most complex characters in the series. It really hurt many people including myself to hear that Alan Rickman died. Rest in peace. Snape couldn't have been a better character. Unimaginable to think about how J.K. Rowling could make up such good characters! Snape is also an inspiration to me; he shows that all of us have a tendency to lean to the dark side sometimes, but we do still support the good side at times. Wish he was still alive and that Rowling would make another Harry Potter book! I was so upset when I finished reading the last page.

I never would have found Harry Potter if it were not for my teenage crush on Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham. I watched the first movie because of him and then every book, getting up at 2am to stand in line and be the first to buy the books when the books were released in my town. My heart still hurts every day that my favorite actor is gone...but Snape will live forever. No other person could bewitch the mind or ensnare the senses like Rickman could.

Hey please read the books the George's ear 👂 was an aim to a death Eater but missed. And in the prisoner o azkaban Snape was unconscious due to the expelliarmus spell hit by Ron, Harry, Hermione together , so how could he sheild them??

In the book Snape conjured up cots for the injured ones, including Sirius and Harry. Hermione and Harry saw him when they used the time turner. They were surprised by his kindness and compassion. BTW he must have gone to the lake to get unconscious Harry and Sirius too, after being knocked out himself. Harry never got in trouble for attacking a teacher ... interesting!
I think he is a good guy because he told Harry to take his tears to help him kill voldy and find a secret out. Snape is cool 🕶

Snape hit George (at least in the book) by mistake. He intended to destroy other deatheaters wands with ‘Sectum Sembra’.
I like tim roth, but he wasnt snape at all. Alan Rickman had brilliant instincts on movement, inflection of his velvety voice and just what Snape would and would not do. He could turn from being an intellectual to a menacing force of nature in a heartbeat. Alan Rickman was and ALWAYS will be Severus Snape

Everything he's done was for selfish reasons. He loved Lilly yes but it's really the only reason why he ever protected Harry, not because he was a child or student but because Harry was all that was left of her. He never wanted to leave the Death Eaters even when he knew a child would be straight up murdered, he only truly left after Lilly was murdered and Voldemort disappeared. If Voldemort had spared Lilly he would have probably stayed and going to Dumbledore was only extra insurence to protect Lilly other than Voldemorts word that he'd spare her if she didn't get in his way.

Snake was a petty little man who held a grudge. He knew the truth about Peter Pettigrew being the one to betray the Potters and, because he still hated Sirius Black from when they were teenagers, was willing to see him sent back to Azkaban for a crime he didn’t commit. He could have spoken up in his behalf and cleared his name. That would have allowed Sirius to be free to live his life and not have to hide out at Grimaldi Pl. in Order Of The Phoenix.
He did not know pettigrew was the one who betrayed Lily. He thought Sirius broke out of prison to kill Harry like he did his parents. That's why he went to the shrieking shack because he saw the marauders map on Lupin's desk showing Sirius, lupin and the trio were there. He was scared to because Lupin's potion was still on his desk, and it was a full moon. Remember Snape got knocked out before they found out about pettigrew being responsible. And btw, Dumbledore is the one who could have helped Sirius not Snape. Snape was a de, they wouldn't have listened to him. Dumbledore did defend Snape though and kept him out of Azcaban. Your beef should be with Dumbledore,not Snape!

Alan Rickman was far too old for the role of Snape. Snape was of the same age as Harry's parents after all. But somehow Rickman was perfect nevertheless. It's hard to picture anyone else in that role.
