Most bardcore artists out there are just doing it digitally. I'm not saying they're not good, or talented... but there's a lot more to be said about 1 guy playing 10 different instruments, and mastering it all together. Algal is the absolute GOAT!
Indeed. When I first grew interested in this genre, I was baffled by how many search results I was getting. And then they were all digital music. Nobody really does it like Algal the Legendary Bard.
On the other hand, overplaying songs wears them out and makes them annoying. I actually had to tell Amazon music to never play this song again because it was playing it at least once every hour.
Out of all the channels making medieval covers of songs, yours is by FAR my favorite because you put so much work and effort into playing each instrument instead of using samples and it sounds so magical and authentic!! Always love seeing you in my subscription box 💙💙💙💖
Ah, indeed the music from good ol’ times…. This is heavenly! I remember seeing a young Lady Kate of Bush playing this tune on a night a the Tavern in 1246, I was a great friend of hers, what a pure hearted dame!
@@Nhytewulf that would be a huge mistake on the duffer bros parts. Yeah, that would devastate Dustin to see that (and especially if he has to destroy him), and to do that would turn off his apparently huge fan base.

I'd gotten a bit sick of the covers of this one, but I was glad to see yours. You did not disappoint. Kate Bush's family came out of Ireland, so using the tin whistle for the vocal line is pretty much flawless.
Not only do I love the music, but I also love that you put exactly what instruments you use to play this music. I love it when I find new instruments in your music.
This song has something special, tears brimming and your version is genuine and soothing. Kate Bush must be proud of this great version, you deserve more listeners!
I would've never thought such a modern style song ( although a it's a very good song ) could sound so good in the medieval style , but actually it does !
I think that Hildegard von Blingin' should medievalise the lyrics as I think they would medievalise very well. But it probably wouldn't be quite as good as Holding out for a Hero...
Gather 'round ye fine folk, and I shall regale you with the tale of how my band of knights did merrily slay a rampaging demogorgon in the burg of Hawkins.
Genuinely appreciating listening to real instruments. Thank you for sharing your videos. Sometimes it is difficult to find instruments amongst the digital sounds these days
Ye olde instruments never get old. The art of physical audio should never die despite what technology we come up with. Live music performed with non-electric instruments, with a pint on your hand... it's something else. Great versions.
Your way of playing is purifying to the soul. What ever was weighing me down just disintegrated. Thank you so much for this incredible rendition of the song.
so i never jumped on Stanger Things at the start binged it bout a month ago this song wont leave my head ... hahahaha ... but this is pretty sick defo getting used in out next DnD campaign
@@IsntTheInternetGreat I don't speak Spanish, but in French "terrible" can mean terrific, and I gather it's the same thing in Spanish. Temon is a form of tema, meaning song.
I saw the new video pop up in my subscriptions and thought nah, I love the original - especially the voice, this won't work. Oh boy am I glad I was wrong! The flute and duduk are magic together. Thank you for another great tune Agal!
So my friend sent me a link to your “One” video today - now I’m 9 videos in & subscribed, with no plans to stop! This is a great way to cover songs with your own personal touch. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. I’m curious if you would consider the song Locomotive Breath by Jethro Tull? It’s a rock song with a flute solo, & in my opinion, would make an interesting choice. Thanks again!
Oh my god this is gorrrrrgeous. Immediately put me in a great mood and relaxed me. Your compositions are always so thoughtful and beautiful. Thank you for making music.

Algal the BARD is the real deal when it comes to bardcore :D. Toss a coin to your bard!
Amen to that! 🤘🏼
Indeed. When I first grew interested in this genre, I was baffled by how many search results I was getting. And then they were all digital music. Nobody really does it like Algal the Legendary Bard.
100%
A real bard
I think you and Hildegard von Blingin' should collaborate on this one; I think Kate Bush's lyrics would medievalise!
That would be AMAZING!!!
I concur.
Make this happen!
I wholeheartedly request and encourage this
Please please do this
I love when shows I don't watch use my favorite songs cause that means I get to hear so many nice covers
Same! I might even go watch an episode of this one.
This is the kind of positivity the world needs

How many bardcore channels are there?
@@drewdabbs418 Quite a few since it became a thing in April 2020.
"That's really quite lovely" - my husband, Kate Bush fan for over 20 years.

This is definitely a tune that I would imagine could actually be popular during medieval times. Great rendition!

Hounds of Love already has a medieval/folk vibe to it, so it lends itself well to this. Would love to hear the whole album Bard style!
'specially Jig of Life :)
Would be magical
Why is this cover so handsome!!!
Algal plays an inspirational song for the party.

Been binging Stranger Things - cannot get this song out of my head! However, this is a fantastic new version to haunt me! ❤️🔥
Is that a duduk? It’s so mellow and beautiful. Bravo as always! 🎶
@Hildegard von Blingin' I think Kate Bush's lyrics would medievalise...

Wonderfull version
This seriously gave me the chills because of how good it is.
Beautiful, bravo, bring that bard some mead
To keep it short and clean: You certainly did this song incredible justice here. Superb!

Bardcore hits direct into the next timension
Master of Puppets next, right? I know Metallica is more to the bard's taste!
Absolutely love the duduk! I thought it was a shawm at first because of the obvious double reed sound. Much enjoyment!
I would love to see a concert of all these covers, in a small theater in Italy.
