That city chase scene (Levi vs kenny squad) was top tier 🛐 And also That coup d'etat was fucking amazing Historia's character in this season was great, Erwin & levi's character in this scene also great. This season is really amazing season, but this season was very underrated.

While I'm here, fun BTS story to tell, this season of 24 episodes was originally supposed to air all at once, but sometime between episodes 3 & 12 airing someone pulled the plug for the later half of the season thereby delaying the 2nd half of season 3 and separating it into 2 parts. At first that sounds bad and "like a dick move," but the reason the alarm bells were wrung & to delay these episodes was simply b/c they weren't ready yet, like at all! Like I said previously, the Levi & Keni & his Squad chance sequence(s) took 1-2 animators 5-7 months work of work before anyone else could work on finishing it, like coloring, particles, effects, compositing, etc. It is due to the poor, or at the very least improper, management of what became Season 3 Part 2, which was saved by giving the animators more room to breathe and time to work, that the anime was given over to a new studio after this season, which is very obvious to tell at certain moments the animating style difference between seasons 1-3 & Seasons 4+. So yeah, just fun to know that this first half of Season 3 was just BARELY able to be made and "shipped" out by the skin of their teeths! And it STILL was able to look amazing!

Levi was talking about the people who kidnapped Armin and Jean only, they were normal organized crime dudes hired by Kenny. Those people were just a distraction so Kenny could ambush Levi and his squad. "Why is he challenging Levi, doesn't he know who Levi is?" He knows exactly who Levi is, more than almost anyone. You could certainly say that Levi is humanity's strongest man, but at the same time Levi is geared out to fight titans, not human beings. Kenny is no pushover and is also a very big deal, he was the one who taught Levi how to fight in the underground. Levi is stronger than Kenny, but in a 1 vs 1 fight Kenny can contend with Levi because he has the anti-human ODM gear. He also knows how Levi fights, but the reverse is also true. You should be impressed that Levi essentially brought a knife to a gun fight and was actually winning vs everyone but Kenny himself. "Oh, this is what they meant saying it was kind of a spoiler of why the titans tried to eat Reiner" Yes, it was me who said that. This is what I meant by it was kind of a spoiler. You now know the truth... that titans likely try to eat titan shifters (and humans in general) as an instinctual way to try regain their humanity by devouring a titan shifter. That's how I see it anyway, idk if we ever get told that but it seems implied. I say instinctually because according to Ymir, being a normal titan is like being conscious of what is happening but you are not really in control of your titan body. Like your body is on autopilot as a normal titan, but your mind is still there to witness everything. Plus, normal people would not know about titan shifters and what happens if you consume them, so it has to be instinct that they try to devour them. "Hange, not Levi as the new commander?" It's true that Levi outranks Hange, and Levi is a very good leader and tactician, but Levi is best suited to be a soldier who goes to the front lines and wipes out the enemy rather than being the commander from the rear. Hange is a specialized titan researcher and a great leader herself, as well as being extremely intelligent. She is a great fit for the role, and I think it makes more sense for her to have the role while having Levi be utilized as the commander's strongest weapon.
