Dos años después de Joan Chamorro presenta Rita Payés, que recibió el Premio Enderrock 2015 por votación popular a la mejor propuesta de jazz, me hace mucha ilusion este segundo cd con Rita: " Lua Amarela" , en donde podemos constatar su evolución como trombonista y como cantante ( cada vez más solida, con una personalidad muy marcada por su exquisita sensibilidad a la hora de jugar con las melodias y su maravilloso timbre , personalisimo como pocos )
En esta linea de trabajo , en el contexto de la Sant Andreu jazz band, proyecto que cumple 10 años este 2016, entiendo que todo es importante para motivar, ( inlcuido este trabajo ), dar luz a aquella magia que todos llevamos dentro y que , mediante la exigencia mesurada en su justa medida , la confianza y el trabajo , pueden ver la luz cosas tan maravillosas como este " Lua Amarela " ,
Rita Payés es magia , es sensibilidad, es dulzura, es caracter, es un torrente de energia , es talento en continuo desarroyo. Rita Payés , con sus 16 años , solamente ha hecho que empezar a contarnos cosas maravillosas . Le deseo lo mejor en su presente y en su futuro

Rita is so good on trombone. So smooth. Additionally, there seems to be a great chemistry between all the girls during vocals. And, I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that this is a great band behind them. Love your music.

Eu como brasileiro, sou suspeito para falar, pois eu amo essa música, mas não posso deixar de dizer que a interpretação desse grupo, desde a introdução do Mestre Joan Chamorro, ao solo de guitarra (Jaume Llombart), o solo do nosso Maestro Ignazi Terraza e o tempo correto do baterista (Esteve Pi) é uma das coisas mais maravilhosas que a música brasileira poderia querer, sem contar, é claro com as divinas interpretações das Maravilhosas Rita Payés e Andrea Motis. Yo, como brasileño, desconfío de hablar, porque amo esta canción, pero no puedo evitar decir que la interpretación de este grupo, desde la introducción del Mestre Joan Chamorro, al solo de guitarra (Jaume Llombart), el solo de nuestro Maestro Ignazi Terraza y el tempo correcto del baterista (Esteve Pi) es una de las cosas más maravillosas que la música brasileña podría desear, sin mencionar, por supuesto, las divinas interpretaciones de las Maravillosas Rita Payés y Andrea Motis.

Really, really fine. Great opening. Beautiful singing. Great ensemble work. Wonderful solos. That said, Andrea's pop-in appearances epitomize by ideas of her from about 2014-18. I envision her pulling a little red wagon full of instruments, stopping by to see who needs what to round out a performance. Sax? Trumpet? Harmonizing? Duet? Solo for the instrumentalists? No problem. No wonder why she got so good. AND, if you think talking about her too much on Rita's nickel is a sign of disrespect, I'll point out I'm the guy who bought a trombone for his 69th birthday -- and she showed me how to hold it.
I find most of the tracks by these young people unbelievable! Their site is almost permanent listening for me.

They're all from a different planet, that's not from earth. I've listened to so many of their songs and am still amazed at the maturity of the youngsters. Hard to believe it's possible.
Born into a musical family, no doubt, and have internalized the music since very very young.

Most just kids who live in the Sant Andreu section of Barcelona (or nearby) and were welcomed into Joan's public school music program without any previous musical training. Many started with Joan's program at age 12 or younger. Some as young as 6, I believe.

Please come to Brazil Joan Chamorro!!, and bring this brazilian music that is forgotten by the brazilian youth.
That seems to have happened all around the world. Certainly here in the US the young people have no familiarity with what I call "real music" whether we speak of classical music, folk songs or jazz -- not even Big Band or Bossa Nova.
I suppose the owners of recording companies want the young people to buy only their new material, so the radio stations that they control do not play anything before 1960, or from the wider world.

I love all of the Joan Chamorro magical musicians of all ages, have played all the videos I can find, always exciting and fun and inspiring. But on this track, on which everyone played wonderfully as usual, I do have to say that Ignasi Terraza's piano solo was in the jazz stratosphere in every way, classic killer modern jazz piano and I mean astonishingly so. What a great performance by everyone. Thanks so much Joan for bringing all this to the world. Such spirit and beauty is so badly needed.

Rita, that was as well played a trombone solo as i've ever heard. The great slide masters Kai Winding, Jack Teagarden, J.J. Johnson et al could not have played it better. I sure hope you keep playing and singing like that!

En princípio, Vinícius no queria hacer la letra porque decia que era plágio de Chopin. Baden le contestó que el havia bebido demasiado whisky y el, entoces, se sento a la máquina e escribió la letra.

Ah! A melodic masterpiece, from Joan's and Rita's slow intro to Andrea's sublte ornamentation, followed by outstanding solos of Rita, Jaume Llombart and maestro Terraza! The final duet shows the two singers emotionally involved.
And still, Andrea finds the time to greet someone in the audience, 6:57 ;)
