    You have missed tax credits - for a single person that's Personal and Employee tax credits (1650 + 1650) that are deducted from the gross tax to calculate the net tax due - so from the 12,900 for the year you deduct the 3,300 tax credits - and actually pay 9,600 in the year. These credits are given at the start of the employment to the employer (and each new tax year you stay with them afterwards), who calculate and deduct the tax for you - and should be made clear at the start of the video. (If you have multiple employments the credits can be divided between them etc....)

      All income must be declared in Ireland and in all other E U countries regardless of source.
      If not you invite the Crimond Assets Bureau to visit your affairs.
      They do not ask where you got your money. They just take it with High Court Writ.
      You then must prove that all your assets Including watches housed jewellery stocks and bonds property are not proceeds of crime.
      They were created after a criminal claimed over over 5 million euro from police after being found not not guilty of a bank robbery.
      Hit them in the pocket it works.

    • @AMEditionYT

      I can say you're right. It does not have the highest tax in Europe, but it's still difficult to see so much taxes esp. for me coming from a country with a flat tax rate.

      @@AMEditionYT since Ireland takes high taxes so is education and healthcare free in Ireland and do they provide social security benefits like unemployment benefits etc like other European countries do???

    • @AMEditionYT
      @AMEditionYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Education is not free but it's affordable. Health care is free only if you earn the minimum per economy. If you earn a bit more money you need to pay €50 to visit one doctor. And here are all the necessary social benefits in case you can't find a job or have a child 😊

    Hi Anna , I have read that we have to pay taxes only if we are earning more than 18000 euro in Ireland annually. Instead of 12000 @ 20 Percent you have mentioned.
    That means there is an excemption upto 18000/- euro for single person and 36000/- euro for married couple.
    After this 18000/- euro they will charge you the income tax @ 48 percent.
    Is this correct??

    • @AMEditionYT
      @AMEditionYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Interesting. where did you read it? Was that an official source?
      All the taxes that I have mentioned in the video are correct for the year 2020. This will change a bit in 2021.

      So if you earn more than 12,000 euro you will still need to pay the the USC tax which is about 0.5%. But looks like 18,000 are exempt only from the IT (income tax).

    • @binoybeen
      @binoybeen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You pay the USC if your gross income is more than €13,000 per year @.5 percent. I think, this USC tax is additional to income tax that we have to pay. This exempted if you are a medical card holder .........
      You do not pay the Universal Social Charge if your total income for a year is €13,000 or less. (If you are aged 70 or over or a medical card holder aged under 70 and your aggregate income for the year is €60,000 or less, you pay a reduced rate of USC.)

      I live in Ireland, I wouldnt say it is particularly free, for example freedom of expression is not a thing. Ie if you put up a poster that offends someone the Gardai (Irish Police) can take it down.
      Very socialist with taxes of 20% on 35500 and 40% on the remaining balance. With 4 % going to Universal Social Charge and 4 to Pay Related Social Insurance, this can get you a free dental checkup and a free test each year.
