This an old video but still, it's the closest video I've come across in my attempt to get answers regarding the chamfer tool. I'm still using SolidWorks 10. I have a solid model of a 1/4" thick by 1/2" wide by one inch long. It's shaped like the profile of a duck's head. I'm wanting to create a chamfer along its top outer edges just to take the sharp edges off of my model similar to what you've done in this video.I've had no problem doing this on all other models I've ever drawn up that needed chamfered edges. My problem here is that for some reason SolidWorks will not create the chamfers I'm requesting regardless of how shallow or deep I make them. Only if I click on certain edges will a chamfer be partially created. As soon as I click on another section of the same edge, it turns from yellow to blue which tells me that something isn't right. If I go ahead and click on all the top surface edges that I want chamfered and I click on the green check mark to produce the chamfer, I get a message stating that it cannot perform the chamfer due to some geometry related error.I can't figure this out so I though I'd ask someone who has more experience using SolidWorks. Can you tell me what might be causing this failure to chamfer the edges I need chamfered?
