Very useful for those thinking of buying their first HE top load washer. I have the WT5480CW 5.0 cu ft washer and I usually run it with the Turbo Wash cycle which cuts the washing time to 33 minutes. Too much sud though. It reduces the cleaning power.
Yeah. I had one of these. You can't stop the drum by hand or even slow it down past a certain RPM, it is literally stronger than the force a human can generate.
Nice to watch, But thank the universe I still have my 1973 Whirlpool washer. With a real agitator. I use it twice a week and it still works perfectly. I also have a easy spindrier washer and a 1972 speed queen wringer. They both work as well.
Thanks for posting this! Good machine, LG has come a long way in the last decade or so. I personally prefer the front load, and I have full LG videos if you want to check that out too.
Yeah, front load is the way to go. Scary to think how demonstrably terrible pretty much every whirlpool top loader is, and the only reason they can keep making such "minimum viable products" is because Americans will buy pretty much *any* top loader simply because it's not a front loader. Sad, really. At least LG is putting some effort in on their top loaders, but it's all still just solutions in search of a problem... Dump the ridiculous concept of a top loader and all the problems go away.
@@dregenius LG isn't anymore, and this model is from 2014. Their new top loads are just as cheap and flimsy as the Whirlpools, they even made the top of the cabinet plastic in the latest ones.
Thanks for the demo! I think an HE TL washer with the washplate is a great idea, however the wash time is just way too long. If they could find a way to overcome that part...it would be great. I do my laundry all in one shot, and hang it on the line, and that's just too much time between loads. @@joshuamoon9312 some have issues with bearings, but not nearly as common as bearing and shaft splines crumbling on Whirlpool top loaders, and mold is completely and utterly overblown. We had an old LG when I was growing up (before they added the little drain tube), and it had a moldy gasket. Didn't really hurt the wash performance tbh. A hot water bleach cycle would have sterilized it perfectly fine but I never felt the need to do it. Top loaders get moldy too, but in places you don't see, so people think it's only front loaders that get moldy. My new LG I've been leaving the door cracked (not fully open even) and not a single sign of mold, very pleased with how well the drum dries out when not in use, I suspect they've designed a few things into them to improve airflow etc, because just a slightly cracked door is enough for the gasket to be totally dry in an hour or two. Thinking about how much money and energy the 1300 rpm spin on this front loader is saving (dryer times are left than half what they were with the landlord special top loader in my new house), makes me wonder why people are ok with such lousy spin speeds on top loaders. Boiling water out of clothes takes an INSANE amount of energy. Any amount you can spin out is well worth it.

I do remember helping with laundry since I was 11, and then at 13 I did my own. I loved our old Fisher and Paykel WashSmart, the sounds it made were truly wonderful and it washed really well. Growing up in New Zealand, the F&P washers are really common, but unsurprisingly the new models aren't selling probably because of their crazy price.
@@LoganT547 Junk at expensive prices, I used to own a F&P washing machine in the 90's that worked flawlessly (might have still be working today), not sure what happened to the machine before I moved to Hong Kong (I live in Australia), I wouldn't go out of my way buying a machine from them in the future. There are better ones out there that are half the price.
I still prefer Fisher and Paykel machines. Even with small amounts of powder my old F&P machine cleaned better than any other machine I've ever owned. They actually smelled fresh as well. Sure, my new Samsung front loader might clean just as well but I don't like that it uses a belt-driven basket and basket spider (which are prone to failure if the machine isn't used properly).
did this cycle clean your garage towels better than the power cleanse cycle? because this cycle was very vigorous and had powerful agitation not to mention the waveforce. One thing to note for is that just because you add more soap than usual doesn't mean a better clean, because the washer first of all will be full of suds (which was indicated in this video), the washer will have a hard time rinsing the towels/clothes clean, and you will easily attract bacteria and mold to build up rapidly in the washer not to mention a wasting the soap and frequently buying more. But in the end, the video was excellent!
Well that's kind of why I added the extra rinse cycle. To rinse away all that soap and dirt. It seemed to work. And yea, I think the heavy duty cycle seems to clean better than power cleanse. So that part of the cycle is called waveforce? I have plans to capture that in slow motion with the GoPro.
LOL. I enjoy this video! I love sitting next to and riding on top of washing machines! Extremely comfortable machines.

@@LoganT547 Or they haven't been performing like they used to, in my opinion (which might be unpopular) F&P WERE a good brand.
@@planetx1595 Yeah, I miss the old machines. It's really sad to see they're just producing junk nowadays.
Are you using an HE detergent? This took a long time I think for one cycle.
I love LG top load washers. Nothing can outdo them!
Except for the Whirlpool Direct Drive.
It was, and to hot debate, still is today, even though hard to find. And they don’t manufacture it anymore.
Although if you don’t own one it’s hard to comprehend it’s cleaning power.
But LGs are right up where I’d buy one. And did you know they also built a washer with an agitator?
I still prefer Fisher and Paykel machines. Even with small amounts of powder my old F&P machine cleaned better than any other machine I've ever owned. They actually smelled fresh as well. Sure, my new Samsung front loader might clean just as well but I don't like that it uses a belt-driven basket and basket spider (which are prone to failure if the machine isn't used properly).
I Like That Machine, It Sounds Like A Subway Train
The spin though
I would of loved to seen a full load.. I still think the LG wm9000 is the best yet
those towels look better than my bath towels
How did you manage to keep the lid open?
This is how "he opened the door and made it put still and when he started it he put the door to fully open"
And i forgot the door is also sticked if you didn't know
I like the spin wash that it does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LG calls that "waveforce".
awesome video
did this cycle clean your garage towels better than the power cleanse cycle? because this cycle was very vigorous and had powerful agitation not to mention the waveforce.
+AutistiVision Vinegar and salt will quickly break down the foam. This trick works well with dishwashers, too
+BroccoliBeefed oh nice
I would like to see this washer with a full large heavy duty load.
3:10 Electric car engine is pushing to the limits now
YOOOOO I remember watching when I was younger! Memories gets old!
What the fuck dude nobody cares
I wonder how this washer would do with a full load or big quilt 🤔
It does great! Here's one I did:th-cam.com/video/x0H2w68MTs0/w-d-xo.html
@@AutistiVision ah okay. I'm impressed. I thought it would do the jet spray like how it did on this cycle
@@pontiac38gm Ah, I see. Yea it doesn't even load sense on bulky bedding, it just fills itself up.
@@AutistiVision yea seems like it only does it on auto sense heavy duty
Our style is diff but ours is like this, it's crazy looking. Used the older machines. The first part is weighing your loads.
No agitator though...so only good on tiny loads. Front load wm9500hka is the king.
Nice 😎
ayo screw my dream front load washing machine. Im buying this!
Does the waveforce add extra water or does it take water from the tub and spray it on thr towels?
Oh I think it's taking water from the tub.
@@AutistiVision ok
how did you trick the locker to the door
Thank you for the video, it was very informative, I always wondered how they worked! Still hate ours though, won't buy another HE Washer again!!!
I like the part when the washing machine is washing
lol, yea, that was the best part. :)
Can it handle a full load? All the way to the top! And does it use enough water?
Yes it can
How long will the washer spin, will it spin until the video ends at 1:33:57?
That was a cute little song to end the spin cycle lol XD
hiphopboy36 yeah you will hear that stupid melody on any lg washer frontload or top load
@@fargeeks uh its not stupid, not even close.
@@Blurain727 you're right
Its horrendous!
@@fargeeks Horrendously uplifting!
