I liked this movie, a bit, different. In reality the grandma would've wanted to see her only grandchild right away, no matter what. It was a pleasure seeing all the neat cars
Ok harmless little noir. I thought they were 2 different actresses, surprised that they had the technology then 2 have her as 2 different people in one scene, very convincing.
They had the split-screen technology as far back as the early 1900s (yeah, I was surprised too.) One of the best films to use split screen is "A Stolen Life" in 1946. Whoever did the special effects on that one was a genius because he had Bette Davis doing things like handing something to herself! (as her twin sister.) and even one character lighting the cigarette of the other character- in the same scene. The Patty Duke Show (from '63) used the split-screen technology regularly, having Patty playing two characters- that one was done VERY well, even going so far as having the two characters sitting on the same bench in the same scene.
Oh, Mr Borchers! At first, with all the 'bawdy' talk, I thought this might have turned out a bit shady! But, then in the blink of 6000# 62 T-Bird convertible, the young naive lawyer sees through the dastardly, deceitful plan of the former stripper and her handler/husband! Lucky that big honkin' T-Bird had 390cu in Ford motor, which powered him up the dirt road to the cliff divers/staged wreck site as if it were the Pikes Peak Hill Climb!! What a movie! The good twin v the bad twin! I loved every second! Plus, all those Fords and Mercurys were sweet too! And I'm a Chevy guy! And that mean ol' mother finally blossomed into the grandma we hoped she would be! This was no Patty Duke movie, oh no!
The footage of the race crash @1:21 is from what is called the deadliest crash in auto sports history, the 1955 Le Mans disaster.
I like these old shows with John Carridine. He was always good in his roles.

That Billy hasn't been taught 'Stranger Danger'
Roger that. Thanks for watching.
the crash at the beginning is a combination of the big crash at LeMans in 1955 and some footage shot at Riverside in the late 50's
I instantly recognized the Le Mans crash too. Very sad day for auto racing.

@@orangehoofI believe 87 souls were lost in the magnesium flames that resulted...a very sad day in the year of my birth!

Pleasant enough, but not very exciting. A kind of B picture, one that doesn't stand out in the middle of the pack.
