I am still amassed that private householders don’t seem to maintain their gullies as the have rubbish and weeds around them as they never seem to clean their grid plates out, this is part of my normal property mainly which I do weekly.
honestly people these days are just stupid and dont have a clue how to do basic maintenance... No disrespect to the guys from the Rod, but I certainly wouldn't have called anyone out just to clean/unblock my kitchen gulley!
A lot of younger people have no interest in any thing that is dirty or smelly as they can all ways get some one else to do the dirty work, Manual skills in England have gone to nearly zero over the past 40 years starting at schools!!

I once did this for a living, blockage and cctv. It is amazing how quickly you just get used to it.
A new Workday. First Workplace little narrow but only Rainwater Pipe to clear. The next Work not so Appetizing and longer Worktime!, the third, a Rainwater Pipe with Stone and Mud block. Good Workday and not too much uninvited. Greeting 🇦🇹

Love these Sunday drain unblokings as i have said before Andy . They were quite easy ones for you except for the second one which was a bit of a struggle for as for no drain .

Hey all - for all you wanna be drain unblockers (like me), I have just been to Home Bargain and they are selling 5 ltd plastic bottles of disinfectant for £2.99, so naturally I bought some and proceeded to clean all of the manholes I could find :-)

How is rainwater pipe connected to sewage pipe ?
i dont get the open drain system used. doesn’t that allow outside debri, animals, roots to ebter the system? is this a UK thing?
Unreal! What one might expect to see in a third world country.
There's a cover that goes over the top, so the drain isn't exposed. There's never an issue with smells, unless the drain is blocked of course.
No sign of andys big end in these jobs not very exiting ones but cant have excitement on every job but still good job Andy 👍
10:00 Rather than stepping in raw sewage and tracking it around, why not use a hose to flush the sewage into the drain compartment?
You guys should all carry garbage bags in your pocket for when you dig stuff out, like rocks, silt, leaves, wipes, etc.
