Thanks for going in-depth with the DelVerb. I think the presets from the app are its secondary strength (after the sound itself) but most reviews don't devote time to that. Very grateful!
Delverb arrived this morning. This vid is by far the best showcase of it on TH-cam (I’ve watched them all in my excitement) Also at 36:30 -37:07 when you’re testing the spring reverb… wtf are those chord progressions because they sound beautiful (I’m a noob so I can just figure that shit out myself)
Awesome video! How do you run your Milkman? Into 2 cabs AND into that kind of DI box? (was thinking of using my Walrus DI) Also can you select subdivisions on the Del-Verb..?
Thanks for the DelVerb review, set mine up according to your favorites. Ever considered a teaching channel? You have a great following and I for one would love to discover how you go about building tracks from start to finish. Please consider it.
I've been very curious about the victory v4 range. Its nice to see one of them in action, it sounds glorious in your setup! It also helped me decide that it isn't necessarily for me, as i don't get the sound i want from marshall in general. I did however enjoy listening to it here! Have you tried "the duchess" yet?
Hey Mark, that´s really a great track with an amazing setup. I Love the sounds and will check out the Grobert Chorus. I am playing the Sheriff V4 guitar amp myself and for me there is no better small amp than this. I am also interested in the drum sounds you are using in the track. Would you be so kind and tell me what Plugin/library that is? Thanks and greetings from Austria 🤟
@@markjohnstonofficial ah, gotcha. How did you find the latency on the RMC? I’m about to pull the trigger on that one, ticks all the tight boxes for me
I played one or two Kingsley pieces back in the day; they're absolutely great but I just haven't ever had the opportunity to grab them / borrow them for any kind of content stuff. Would love to do a tube driven preamp shootout sometime
Commission would be awesome but I actually think I prefer the current system of just getting paid up front to make a video because I dont take notes / feedback / talking points from brands; my only aim with videos is to accurately and thoroughly demonstrate a piece of gears abilities, strengths, drawbacks and try and create an informed audience. I am not trying to sell you on something, I am trying to provide clarity on if a product is right for you and thats something that could get muddied with commissions if I am not careful / hyper vigilant about it.
The UAFX stuff sounds great, but without midi or expression control their pedals are severely limited. They're just playing the walled garden game here - surely all those pedals are just the same hardware and UA is artificially handicapping them.
I came for the UAFX DEL VERB PEDAL. I wish they had chosen a better casing aesthetic however. It seems far too retro a colour scheme for me but the algorithms would suit my needs. Thanks for the dive in. Appreciated.
You might prefer the Golden Reverberator, it's a bit more muted. It does a few extra useful controls for the reverb, decay time for example. Because plenty of good real BBD pedals aren't that expensive. And also plenty of modern precision delays are good. Flamma FS-3 is quite nice (though again you might not like the navy / midnight blue). Depends how much you'd use the reverb controls and whether tape echo sim is important to you. I love how my Del-verb sounds, but I also like the look too, it's subjective. GFI Specular Tempus is another good cheaper dual pedal in a more modern smaller format casing. Reverb not quite as good as UA though, and delay is more limited. Source Audio Collider more of a direct competitor, and more programmable. Though, UA probably still just about edges it in overall reverb quality.
@@compucorder64 Thank you for your input. I actually tried the Del Verb a day ago but I decided that it wasn't for me. The Source Audio pedals look interesting but the Ventris is more expensive but has a lot of app functionality. Its also a larger pedal regarding pedal board space. It may also be upgraded to a mk ii soon as the Collider may???? be too. Maybe I should go full on Bias FX😉. Cheers
@@keithb5612 Something to bear in mind, I think that while you do have to spend at least a certain amount to get a truly good stereo reverb. I don't think the same is true of delays. Depending on what type of delay you favour. For example, the newer EHX Deluxe Memory Mans and the MXR Carbon Copy both sound great, and are analog. For reverbs, I think the GFI Skylar (at least in Europe) is the cheapest genuinely good reverb. If you aren't feeling the Del-Verb, maybe a Skylar and cheap second-hand MXR Carbon Copy wouldn't take up much pedal space, come in cheaper than the UA and the delay is real BBD (though not stereo). Strymon Blue Sky + Carbon Copy is also a nice combo. The Blue Sky has a very nice character and it's strongest suit is how it blends with the guitar single to make a coherent tone. You don't here the guitar / reverb as seperated as with pretty much every other reverb pedal. Even cheaper, and a dual pedal that's still actually very good is Earthquaker Dispatch Master (no stereo though).
@@compucorder64 Thanks again. I'm currently using he Boss RV6 Reverb and Boss DD 200 Delay. I can certainly use these to reasonable effect with recordings but as many others are too... I'm always checking on new /other gear foe potential upgrades to my tone and board. GAS is a thing unfortunately! Cheers
@@keithb5612 those two boss pedals are quite good. Maybe a Golden Reverberator would be the job then, that Boss delay gets the job done, and the Golden can be found on sale now. The decay control and tone shaping are great to have

I’ve wanted one of those Groberts for a while now 👏👏👏
For good reason. It’s a great chorus. I love the whiteout look of the LBE version too
I love just looking down and admiring how my Del-Verb looks on my board. 😂
Honestly I get that. The color combo is a whole ass vibe.
*siri cancel my afternoon plans*
Literally me 😂😂😂
That intro opening clean strat with the chorus and the delverb just sounded soooooo lush, DAYUM
There’s something about the right strat into a marshal that just WORKS.
Love my Sheriff 4 cabled into my v4 Duchess - can't wait for this.
The sheriff preamp into a clean platform is just so good.

I've been happy to see the Sheriff popping up in recent vids. It's still on my board and a lot of folks don't seem to know about it.
Sure started appreciating my Delverb a lot more after watching this 😅 Thank you for doing an in-depth review.
Hey Mark - Love the vids & demos mate - really enjoy and appreciate your channel and thoughts etc. Cheers & Many Thanks from Australia 👍🏻
Grobert Effects is from Poland
Really dig the channel, Mark! I don't if you have done it already, but is there any chance of you telling us about out LP?

Thanks! And yeah I’m using the Mixwave Aaron Gillespie library.
Intro song is class man.
Link for the mic wind sock? I used to use the DW Black Sheep beater, and they don’t produce them any more. This would achieve a similar effect.
No wind sock on the mic, it’s just a sure sm7b
Except for reverb, it seems like the Chase Bliss Reverse Mode C could do the octave delay stuff similar to the Del-Verb?
I’d say the octave stuff in the delverb lands closer to a stereo but much more limited Thermae than RMC

Ever consider doing any Kingsley pedal reviews? His ODs and amp in boxes offer so much quality and tone.

You absolutely make the best videos. Do you know how many pedals that I’ve purchased because of you
You should get a commission

True wordsmith.
Also, el cap is a Great Pedal. 😂✌️♥️
@@markjohnstonofficial I respect that.
The UAFX stuff is great, no doubt. But no MIDI? Makes it way less accessible to me. Please UAFX, make midi or some assignable patches available.
Unapologetically boarding the hype train
welcome aboard.

Are you using the cab sim on the amp stereo?
Yes. I’m actually really impressed with how well the cab sim on this takes drives and various gain staging.
