You might want to look into getting some foil tape meant to seal furnace and hot water heater ducts. It's already adhesive, and might come in handy for future crafts as it has a very smooth surface. Might prove more versatile than aluminum foil with glue.
You sir are very talented! With the laser cutter, I think it would be cool for an wooden battleship with lots of detailed ornate decorations. That could be the connection to your snow worlds.
Congrats on the laser engraver. I remember when Knarb got his, I suggested etching onto thin sheets of craft foam. That way, you can then wrap those textures onto rounded surfaces (like pillars).
Oh man, that lasercutter is making me mighty jealous! That is an awesome piece of equipment! Just a word of caution: Make sure the room it's in is very (VERY!) well ventilated, especially foam and MDF are pretty bad (MDF potentially releasing some pretty horrible carcinogenic stuff)! Can't wait to see what uses you'll find for it!

You must have been very good , one year my sister wrote to Santa saying We were dissapointed last year ... somehow my mom found out and put a letter in her stocking that she found while we were hanging the stockings up.... it said ... l thought letting you live was a good gift ... a young great white shark said boys are tough and yucky... she wanted a little girl to eat... some times a good present is something that wasn't given.
Excellent! No more hand-cutting runes and it'll look amazing! As an aside, the black wash looks like the "advanced" one from Jeremy at Black Magic Craft, or close enough to it, check his video on it as it might be your missing recipe
Funny how a new tool will change your entire crafting landscape... last year I picked up an Army Painter pin-vice/hand-drill, and I fell in love with the technique of pinning. As for uses for your shiny new laser-engraver, also consider some Aeldari terrain... that sucker will work a treat for various Craftworld runes. Also, have you considered the use of texture-paints/pastes? Citadel has a bunch of paints in their Technical range like Stirland Mud, Astrogranite and Martian Ironearth for a variety of grit/crackle-effects... you can even make your own all-purpose "goop" out of some Apple Barrel or other cheap paint, some plaster-powder, a little Mod Podge and maybe some additional grit if that's your fancy. Astrogranite and its grittier cousin Astrogranite Debris would work a treat for filling in gaps and making the stone look more like... well, stone. Like these runes were hewn from the very living rock. And snow? Well, Citadel has "Valhallan Blizzard," as I may have mentioned before in comments to your vids before. AK Interactive also makes a variety of powders and pastes for snow-effects. EDIT- aaaaand it looks like ya took my advice on the Valhallan Blizzard.
I did. As I get more bold and experienced, I'll continue trying new techniques and products. Thank you for all the suggestions. I really do appreciate it.
I suggest, specially for terrain, to look for alternatives to the Citadel stuff, they're wildly overpriced, pretty much all their competitors have reasonably priced alternatives in bigger quantities, and even further just mixing fine sand, wall spackle and paint you can make a decent alternative. As for snow, I think it was Miniac who tested a lot of variations for it.
@@jherazob Yeah, Citadel still has good stuff. It's more expensive than Army Painter, but it's worth it. Some people just hate Games Workshop 'cos they're the biggest game in town... and also because these are the same weirdos who will burst a blood-vessel if you so much as whisper the words "Female Space Marine."
@@thetribunaloftheimaginatio5247 I don't deny that their products are good, they are (save for those pots, may the person who decided to keep them even after it was clear the design was bad, step on a Lego at least once a day for life!), but I insist that they border on the criminally overpriced. Look for example, a pot of Stirland Mud is 6.30€ for 24ml, compare and contrast a Vallejo Brown Thick Mud pot, with 200ml of the stuff, costs 10.90. And it's the same thing. Make it yourself with spackle, sand and brown craft paint and you save even more, and in the color you want. Unless you have a specific reason (army coherence with one already based for example), it's a bit crazy to go for their stuff, doubly so for terrain, imagine making a big board and using those tiny pots, would break the bank!
Next time paint the rune panel before gluing it to the plastic. When you paint the rest of the piece, just mask it off. As for project ideas, why not a clockwork dungeon with a rotating room?
Congratulations on the laser! Gorgeous gorgeous piece of artwork here! I am curous about the minis. I would like to buy some just like that. Could you tell me what brand and set they are and did you paint them yourself? Thanks.
I've been trying to find the exact skeleton minis but no luck. The knights are from the Runewars Core Set. I did a video on it, though the price has come back up a bit, still a great value. I did paint them myself.
get yourself some 1/4 in acrylic mask it then etch it. With your name or cool runes/symbols into three peices. Paint it(with the mask on to get two colors if you'd like. Buy some hinges. Boom custom dm screen
Dude this is beautiful. If you're up for commissions, in the least I'd love a Hooty ("The Owl House") face made from your fancy laser. I'd even be up for commissioning a build of the actual house because I adore that show and the house fits well with DnD terrain. I dunno if the audience would be into builds from a cartoon but if you're interested message me :D
Please be careful using a laser on plastics (or anything really). I seem to remember reading that the combination of laser and plastic can create some seriously dangerous fumes. I’m no expert though.
Wicked build!! As for the laser cutter, windows and doors, wheels, shields for heraldry, miscellaneous bits and greebles...
Some great suggestions, thank you.
Thanks for another great video. Your enthusiasm is infectious
I appreciate it

Great tip. I will look into getting some.
For the brick walls, you could just do one side with the brick texture, then do the brick texture and cut on the other.
Alternatively, you do two sheets, mirror one. Then glue the pieces back to back. Then you bricks would line up.
Great idea.
This piece came out incredible. There is a story and lore about the piece. Well done
Thank you 😊

I think he took that suggestion too. I believe he did a chariot. It turned out fantastic.
Awesome as always. Why not list the laser cutter in your infobox links?
Good call, I should have done just that.
@@brokenterrain you still can if you so desire... Just bring up your video, and add/edit it in. 👍

That looks so GOOD! Looks like such a useful tool, too. Might have to look into getting one of these.

This is your best project yet.

Yes, a lesson quickly learned. I'm thinking of building a containment box of some sort with ventilation.
I REALLY ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS!!!!

Great painting tip. I like the idea of a clock dungeon. I'll have to give it some thought.
It's a tricky prospect not gonna lie. I've seen it tried a few times and never had it actually worked as intended.
Have you seen our rolling pin for texturing foam?
I have, it is a brilliant little tool.
Kind of curious on how well it would work on an acrylic sheet.
It says it can both engrave and cut acrylic up to a certain thickness. Haven't tried it yet.
how about making a frosty Palace complete with snowflake window and icy columns to go along with your runic monument ?
