Not saying the sub for demon slayer or any other anime is bad, I’m just saying that for your first anime it should be done in english, whatever it may be

Warning spoilers ahead (don’t read unless you want to see the future pasted into the manga So basically demons slayer is an anime where tanjiro wants to turn his sister back to human after she turned into a demon and he searches for Muzan which is the demon king and along the way tanjiro become stronger in which also his sister does to from sleeping unlike eating humans . Now nezkuo (tanjiro sister) fights along side him and in the future they both become demons but then tanjiro become the new demon king because tanjiro defeated muzan and muzan gave him all his blood that was left but then both tanjiro and nezuko both turn back into humans using the special tree which is on the mountain that in season 1 that zenetsu and tanjiro are on for the entrance/ test for becoming a demon slayer. Disclaimer all this info is from the manga
demon slayer is a great anime but it's in now way the best lol, in terms of animation? maybe, but certainly not in terms of story (and I say this as a Demon Slayer fan)
No not slow at all you can clearly tell English is not her first language and either still learning or getting used to it. Which makes little tougher. they could always do English dub or in her native language if where they are watching it has it and have subtitles in English
For non-anime fans, this is a very poor choice. Like really bad. It's like having Wagu Beef for your first time eating meat. It's really just going to be downhill after this. This and Attack on Titan are S+ tier anime. Warning though, Attack on Titan is extremely hardcore, like horror genre. If somebody told me they had PTSD from Attack on Titan, I would believe them. But for Demon Slayer, it's a very beautiful anime, despite the tragic themes. I'm not sure I've ever seen an anime as beautiful as this one in terms of story.

You should watch chainsaw man or jujutsu kaisen because the story easy to understand, or one punch man
