  • 135 Miles, 5 Days Solo, Catch & Cook, Boat Camping at its best! My limits were pushed. Really felt the freedom though, and the sounds of peace. I find being alone and silent in the sounds of nature an immense recharge from my hectic business work. I hope you get some of the same as you watch this.
This is a trip I've had on my bucket list for a long time. I had electrical trouble on the first day and there were also wind warnings so I ended up camping on the boat in an RV Park. On the second day, I found myself in a wind against tide situation, with 22 Knot winds and 1.5 metre waves so close and steep that my boat was usually on two waves at once. This pushed my personal limits to control the boat, but the boat was fine. After a few hours at the tiller, I was exhausted! At least I caught a nice fish to eat in between. On the third day I got onto the sheltered side of the large island, but then mistimed the tides and had to navigate an unknown creek in the dark to find a camp spot - 2 hours to go 500 metres! I didn't have the presence of mind to video both these challenging events, sadly - sorry. The following days were quite relaxing but I had to cut the trip short due to 110km/hr wind warnings on my Deckee App, so I made a run for it for 3 hours straight at 21 knots to my extraction point. What an adventure and I definitely felt the freedom! I hope you enjoy the sounds of nature and rain at night.
A shout out to Scott Rushworth for suggesting this trip and prompting me to get to it earlier than I'd planned :)

Please leave me any suggestions of camping on the boat places, ideas, or items you would like me to explore in the comments below. I'll give you a shout-out in any video descriptions that I make from your suggestion!
Enjoying the sounds of nature, peace, scenery and relaxing.
I work full time and this is my way of seeing places on my bucket list. I hope you enjoy the same and you can get out in nature some time on your own adventure.
UNINTENTIONAL ASMR NO TALKING: The power of being alone has a power and silence few can handle. I do this to regenerate from my busy work life. I rewatch my own videos to re-experience the solitude. I hope you enjoy the same.

    This video made my day!
I was watching it with my wife, and said to her 'this looks likes the Fraser Island creek i mentioned to him a few months ago'. Then I read the video description haha!!!
Great video again. Thanks for sharing! Really enjoyed watching you explore that part of the world.

Beautiful place. Love all the quiet and serene surrounding. The loudness we need is only sound of nature.

I notice Australian boats are left open with plenty of room. Those 4.3m boats with 25 HP look great. Here in the US, Poly/glass boats that size are heavy as hell and needs a 150 just to get on plane. 👍

Yeh, I like the plate alloy. No need to worry about scratching it or bottoming out on low tide. Thanks for tuning in again 😀

Welcome back! I like watching your videos. I know you're a little new to posting your videos on TH-cam. But if I may, I'd like to give a little critique...While the coffee grinder/maker is a cool gadget, watching you make it for four minutes was dull. Also, didn't need to watch half a minute of filling the water canteen. I'm a subscriber so I obviously enjoy your videos and I will continue to watch them. I'm not a film maker or videographer so I don't know the difficulties involved in editing but I do know that those points of the video were yawn worthy. Just one subscribers' opinion for what it's worth. Please keep the videos coming!

Thanks for the feedback and tuning back in😊 Yep, I take it on, I’m still experimenting with a format that works. I find coffee making and the sound of water therapeutic and it did influence me 🤣🤣. Really appreciate your perspective 😊 Thanks again!

I agree. . . . Tired of content makers thinking that watching water boil is interesting. . . . . . Preparing food is not much better. . . . Time fillers

@@riveRecon I like stuff like that. Go slower. There is more than enough fast editing in the world. I love that your videos are slow , reflective and meditative.

When it’s raining at night, do you have an automatic bilge pump? What make is your boat….what is the length?

G’Day, and thanks for watching 😊 My boat has self draining decks so rain water just flows out the back. My boat is custom built aluminum, 7.5m (24ft) boat, 8m (26ft) with motor. I love Texas, I’ve been to Dallas there. I’m glad you like the vids 😀

Does the cover on your outboard reduce the noise much?

    • @riveRecon
      @riveRecon  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi there, it’s actually a fairly quiet outboard as far as outboards go. The cover is mainly protection from weather and more so scratches as I explore some tight spaces.
