Never heard this song before- ( I don't get out much ).......Great vocals , balanced spot on , and the band working away just right, no show-boatin an' stuff....and when the harmony came in, a lift to the rest. excellent. Two fine voices indeed.😊
Ron put this one out first on a Demo 45 record and gave it to friends, family and Businesses .Ron was a great song writer and singer.. great Song!! played and loved by many many bands across the world ty albert
No mention as usual of the great bass vocals the man provides, in his native accent too, not trying to adopt the usual American. Canny cover all the same but not the calber of the 3 lasses, forget their names sorry, Mary Black was one.
Ps this be the only type of music and PEOPLE who belong in Ireland and that should be in Ireland. End of story! Anyone who disagrees is pure DURT. Never compromise with durt nah not worth it. The Irish never compromised with better people certainly don't compromise for the sake of durt Because durt is durt and durt doesn't even know what compromise means! Give durt an inch and durt will take your country of Yeh so give them nothing. So as long as people disagree with people like me we shall remain devided end of story. Just saying so your not surprised.
@@saywhat6704what about them? They left and can always come back! But we DID NOT leave and I'm starting to question why not at this point. Because this is OUR HOME! Nobody elses who gives a F anyway
@@AwRighttttt The Irish never compromised you say..lol...lol....my ribs are too sore..this is a CANADIAN song not Irish..It was written by a CANADIAN (Ron Hynes) not Irish..lol..lol..lol..
@@reds7784 Having heard Ron Hynes sing this several times in person, I know what it's supposed to sound like. Her shrill warbling might work well on other songs, but not this one. And to be honest, you wouldn't want to hear my version, it would bring tears to your eyes but not in a good way.
My mother loved this song ❤😊

Never be like Ron Hynes ruining his music
Dude why sing over her u make her look like she shouldn't be there
I'm not usually critical of others singing, but this poor girl is butchering this song. Ouch!
Isnt it funny you're the only one in the comments saying that? Would like to hear your version

Why do they have to shag up the words so bad? Funny how they get the Irish songs right but butcher the words to this song.
