Look canelo is a good fighter and he was over his head. Fighting Nicol and canelos ppl screwed him by padding his record instead of letting him fight the best fighters in his weight classes before moving up to fight larger stronger fighters he needs more training in feet and head coordination because he was a standing steel punching bag.

He beat more champions and unified more divisions than any fighter including unifying all the 168 belts, then moved up for the bigger challenge vs Bivol in hopes of going for undisputed there too, but divisions exist for a reason. Fighting Nicol and canelos ppl screwed him by padding his record instead of letting him fight the best fighters in his weight classes before moving up to fight larger stronger fighters he needs more training in feet and head coordination because he was a standing steel punching bag.
Pad his record? He beat more champions and unified more divisions than any fighter including unifying all the 168 belts, then moved up for the bigger challenge vs Bivol in hopes of going for undisputed there too, but divisions exist for a reason. Beside himself, the only ex welterweights in history to even become champs at 175 where himself and Thomas Hearns who was 6'1. If the roles were reversed and Bivol were 5 inches shorter and moving up to his 4th/5th division to face Canelo, it would obviously be a differen tfight.

Crazy to think that in 60 fights, you can only make a 4 minute video of him getting outboxed. Billy Joe and Caleb Plant both had some success before getting knocked out, could’ve also added moments from the Lara fight. But overall it shows how dominant he’s been over the years.

So whether it’s Haney, Loma, Teo or a Pitbull rematch they are all risky fights. But Garcia brings the greatest reward bc he’s got a fan base.
