Still going strong guys and girls. Love my sub. I use it with QSC K12's and a Pair ZLX 15p's. I love it. Fit in the backseat of a Fusion it's so compact. Amazing sound and I'm very satisfied with it.

I hear that it is best to run on music setting not club setting to avoid clipping and distortion at higher levels. I was thinking about getting the Yamaha DXS18. Looks too bulky and heavy. The other option is two Yamaha DXS 15 subs. 83 pounds each. The EV EKX 15s is only 72 pounds and close to the same size as the Yamaha DXS 15 sub.
It's hitting hard when you are close to it. I didn't see the clipping and I was playing so loud. It was so loud that my house windows are rattling. Every room in my house are rattling.. I love the low bass that's coming out on it. I think if you want something that you can feel, go with the ekx15sp. 18's gives you more deeper bass.. I actually heard the 181 at guitar center. It's actually on par on ekx. The etx is the one that I want to hear in person...
I just received my 15 inch sub elk and the sound is amazing so much lighter than the 18 go to guitar center and get the sub you won't be disappointed I run it with my 2 QSC 12s The windows were rattling
I did use the sub and it was great. I was able to hear the bass on songs that did not have a lot of bass you are going to love them. make sure you set to 100 and see how you like it.
I just got mine yesterday and I am in the same boat as you. I have the 2 zlx 15sp. I think I will sell the 15sp next year and get the 2 12inch ETx speakers. I heard that 12s sound better with a sub. Let me know how yours are working out.
I know it's the ekx that you have and I just got mine. Actually my question was how can you compare ekx with etx and 181.. I actually love my ekx.. It's freakin loud
guitarisonfire21 The 181 is ever so slightly louder and they both share great sound quality. The ETX is a tad louder and is quite a bit cleaner although more expensive and heavy.

Have you used you're ekx15sp subs out on a gig yet? How are they? I just ordered a pair. I won't get them til late next week.

How big of a difference between Etx18sp and qsc kw181 sub? I took a chance of ordering this without even hearing this new sub...
