    Today we are going to demonstrate how to assemble, configure and use the Scalable Video Switch! This product is a fully modular, user upgradeable multiformat video switch, that can handle SCART, Component, VGA, Composite, S-Video and more in the future! You only need to purchase the input and output modules that you need, and you can always add modules later as needed. This switch also has the ability to save infrared remote codes so you can automate profile switching and other scaler settings on a per input basis.

    This is looking great for using the GBS scaler and doing a lot of things to maximize my consoles using VGA such as the SNES (adapter) and PS1 (rgbhv and adding a port in place of serial port)

    So it appears that your device has auto-switching between devices! That is the main feature I'm looking for. I love the idea of not having to do any switching besides flipping on another console.

    Incredible. This is an amazing, simple, do-everything solution like we've never seen before. Thanks for such thoughtful design.

    Will it do RF video like Atari 2600, Colecovision, etc..., or do Zi still need a VCR for that?

    What does this output 480p?

    Can an HDMI input/output be developed? That would be amazing

    This is everything I needed to clean up my setup. Only other time I’ve been this happy is when my child was born 🤣

    Probably a longshot but would you consider adding D-terminal support? It's more common than component cables for TV game consoles here in Japan. I'm very excited about your project!

    This looks awesome. Maybe I missed it, but does this transcode between the different video formats? So if I buy an S-Video input, component, and composite input can it output RGB over SCART?

    • @joshuakelly9390
      @joshuakelly9390 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ah, I see. It doesn't transcode anything. It will send the signal to the other outputs but does no conversion. So for S-Video in you need an S-Video out

    This is incredible! Well done 😍🙏 I will keep my eye out for a production unit to purchase 😀👍
    One question though:
    Will you allow international orders (to EU for example), or even better: Shipments sent from an EU warehouse?

      I'm working on a deal for EU distribution. I'll have more details closer to launch.

    Does this completely switch all the wires on the scart cables or are there still some leads getting serialed?

    • @ArthrimusTech
      @ArthrimusTech  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It only switches RGB Sync and L/R audio. All of the ground pins are connected to the common ground of the switch and the blanking and aspect ratio signals are discarded.

    Do you know if the sync combiner in the VGA input will cause flagging at the top of the screen with 480p and higher on some BVMs? Also, why hasn't Voultar sent you a 2CHIP fix yet?

    • @ArthrimusTech
      @ArthrimusTech  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The sync combiner is a simple XOR based design. It creates a technically imperfect C-Sync signal around the V-Sync transition, so if you have a display that is sensitive to other XOR or XNOR sync combiners it you'll probably have the same issue with this design. Unfortunately this is the best sync combiner that I know how to create.

      @@ArthrimusTech You might want to reach out to Mike Chi. He helped with the sync combiner in the *new* RGC Dreamcast SCART cables.

    This Device is a Must!
    Trying to find Video Selectors with Multiple inputs is nearly impossible beyond devices with 6 of them.
    This is going to fill in a huge need amongst the retro gaming community.

    Awesome work I would be interested hopefully you can make all the inputs for around 20 to 25 dollars

    I'm super psyched about this. I know you used a RetroTink 4K for this demo but I'm under the impression that it would work just as well with an OSSC, yes? Awesome work nonetheless and I'm looking forward to more details on availability!

    • @ArthrimusTech
      @ArthrimusTech  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, it will work with anything that can accept the source signal.

    Americans hating SCART will always be the funniest thing in retro

    • @BRJedi
      @BRJedi 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It’s only because it’s true, SCART was fine but it had its issues and limitations. Not to mention a poor connector that’s prone to falling out. For modern retro gaming, HD-15/VGA connections are a much better solution.

    • @Red_Panduh
      @Red_Panduh 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We hate it because the the cable itself sucks, not because of what it is
