    People LITERALLY called her FAT when she CLEARLY was not. She was talking about her OWN insecurity and the effects other people can have on you. People are just looking for a reason to hate on Taylor Swift. Unsuccessful people try to tear down successful people so they feel just as bad as them!!

      Me to i weighed 50-75 pounds my entire child hood cause the pressures of beauty standards in the home (you could grab my ribs elementary to 8th grade thats how bad it was tho didnt understand I had an eating disorder until I turned 20 and started looking back and I just thought every one had these fears and anxiety over there body's and since I was raised with the mindset of beauty being skinny was to be protected at all cost ...so thats more so why I didnt know I had a eating disorder because I spent my entire childhood and teen yrs with it

    People calling this fatphobia know NOTHING about having eating desorders.
    Imagine STARVING YOURSELF and always looking at those numbers and still considering yourself fat. Or in the other hand, being so depressed that you cannot stop eating.
    She is expressing in the music video how that happened in her mind as a person suffering from an eating desorder, but ig Twitter just wants to take people down.

      EXACTLY!! people are just too blinded by themselves to comprehend that people who are considered “skinny” can see themselves as “fat” when their brains are warped by body dysmorphia. so many of these comments are giving off “if you have an eating disorder you’re fatphobic” vibes👀

    • @kathrynmatencio9149
      @kathrynmatencio9149 ปีที่แล้ว +72

      When I saw this part of the mv, i really felt like i saw myself. starving, eating once a day or none at all, then getting to weigh myself and never being satisfied. in my head would echo “yup still fat” and it was a never ending, vicious and frustrating cycle. I have never fat shamed anyone, would support people’s weightloss journeys, never made comments on people’s weight/body shape. however, this didnt change how I saw MYSELF. i think TS was really showing us her body dysmorphia and her struggle with having an ED, all the media hate and pressures.

      @Fun and Strum no it's not. I'm fat too, and most people miss the entire purpose of this scene. They just take this scene out of context without understanding any meaning beneath the surface. This is Taylor's INTERNAL critic. Something we all have. The internal critic isn't nice or kind. They're shitty, like this. And Taylor has been called fat in the media, which is where her insecurities come from. Telling her that she can't share them because there are people who "are actually fat" is also quite problematic, and not a good representation of the body positivity movement

    • @migueltavares8505
      @migueltavares8505 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @Fun and Strum That doesn't make much sense because me as a fat person trying to change my body and having body dysphoria doesn't mean that I'm fatphobic, it means that I was "taught" that being fat is bad, that is perpetuated in our childhood. The same goes to Taylor, she doesn't see a problem with other people being fat but in your brain you try to fit in a certain standard and you don't want to be fat.

      I actually prefer the new version! And I've been dealing with body dysmorphia and eating disorders for most of my 40 years on this planet.
      The new version is just as clear, and just as relatable for people with ED, without contributing to the stigma around the word "fat". I'm honestly proud of Taylor for taking the criticism to heart and making a small change

    As a fat person, I wasn't offended by this particular scene. She was criticizing how sometimes people criticize her body for being "too fat" or "too thin, they are never satisfied with the way she looks, and she ends up feeling insecure with herself because of it. But she doesn't have to please anyone. She is a human being, not a dummy. She can have spots on her skin, pores, cellulite, stretch marks, pimples, scars, blackheads, localized fat, gain weight or lose weight, it's human.

    There's nothing wrong with Taylor putting "fat" on the scale. She is allowed to artistically express her feelings however she wants and I'm disgusted how the "fat acceptance" cult bullied her to change it. Here's something for them: IT'S. NOT. ABOUT. YOU.
    Grow up and understand that you can't make the world fall on their knees to make you feel comfortable. If you don't like something, move on.

    Luckily Taylor has some decency and heard people were actively being hurt by 2 seconds of a MV and SHE changed it. Taylor has more respect than y'all. She changed it, cause she could take the criticism, but because she knows ED effects everyone differently and SHE would NEVER want to cause someone to feel what she felt when people discussed her body.

    • @Cinnabunicornights
      @Cinnabunicornights ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically, if you have an eating disorder, by definition, yes you’re fatphobic. You’re afraid of being fat. It’s totally valid and it’s a personal thing - it’s not a fear of others but oneself, it’s deeply personal. And it comes from a fear of not being loved. Or not feeling worthy of love.
      But you know that’s not what Twitter was crying about. Instead of seeing her as a human who has insecurities and a voice in her head that no matter what is bringing her down about her body, they chose to take it personally and be offended - instead of understanding and relating, they chose to bully her, in her weakness, and force her to hide behind others insecurities.
      This is Taylor journey and she has a right to share. Of course she doesn’t want to hurt anyone - but most people watching this were more empowered realizing they’re not alone and it’s something she struggles with too.

    I am most definitely fat (very, very fat), and I had no issue with this being in the video. The first time I saw it, I did not feel like it was targeting fat people. I felt like it was about people who feel like they can’t be thin enough to meet someone’s standard. Taylor is thin. I don’t know if you could call her skinny nowadays, but she is most assuredly not fat at all. And yet she still feels like she isn’t meeting the standard for how her body “should” look. That’s madness, which is the whole point of the video. It’s the madness that comes from trying to reconcile who you are with who society says you must be. For Taylor, that’s never being thin enough. This scene represents that. It was about Taylor and Taylor’s insecurities, it wasn’t an insult to me. Yeah, I’d love to be beautiful like Taylor. No, I don’t understand how she isn’t perfectly content with her perfect, thin body. But that’s not the point. She has a mental hang up that tells her she’s fat when she’s thin, because society tells her she’s still too fat. And since she made the video, she gets to talk about her issues. Not mine. When I make a video (which I don’t plan to), then I can talk about how much my own life sucks.

Have that scene where it isnt a close up takes away from it. Where its that close you can relate. You can get into more personal terriotories. Its invasive. But with the far away shot.
