This was one of the best vlogs I’ve seen in years, the editing, the content… Jesus you’re so talented Helen!! I’ve been watching you since the beginning and you are an absolute joy. Skiied for years and my key recommendations are:
-A good SPF lip balm. The air is so drying, and the UV can be quite strong! I usually go for Neutrogena.
-A buff (neck warmer)! It can get so cold with the wind, tucking it into your goggles balaclava style can be the difference between misery and a good day!
-Thin/regular socks. The boots are thick and will keep your feet warm, thin socks allow you to move when skiing.
-Spare (waterproof) gloves! I have been known to drop one off a lift, and they’re expensive to buy out there. Decathlon is great for affordable ski gear.
- Ski goggles and sunglasses. Sunny days glasses will be fine, windy days you’ll be glad of the goggles (and can keep them on your helmet all the time, so easy to swap between the two).
-A small waterproof backpack is handy for your spare gloves, lip balm and even a powerbank as you’ll be out all day probably. Plus, if your hair gets as tangled as mine a little brush for when we stop for a break.

Bring a snack or two, and water bottle, in your backpack too 🙂 You’ll need the energy and refreshment! If you are not planning to be a regular skiier, rent your equipment (including clothes!) it will save you money and bagspace. Also don’t be an idiot - wear a helmet! Seen way too many throughout the years who are too cool for it…

I was at the gym this evening and it really hit me about how I have never managed to stay consistent with exercise until I started lifting because it truly feels like the gym is a playground for adults and I just have so much fun pushing myself and dancing around between my sets. The phrase joyful movement could not be more apt!

Hey Helen. I also struggle with flossing and brought myself a similar flosser. I love it, it works really well for me and I don't mind using it regularly.

I always recommend trying the water flossers in the shower the first time. Don't have the water going in the shower though as I don't think they are waterproof (unlike oral b toothbrushes) this is purely so the water can go anywhere and you don't need to clean it up.

I find it easiest to water floss by letting the water flow right back out of my mouth and hanging my head over the sink. It’s messy but easier than constantly spitting a mouthful. Also highly recommend interdental brushes to anyone struggling with flossing. ❤

I'm so Jel/buzzin for you to go on your first ski trip!!! I lived in the Alps for 2 years doing ski seasons, and aside from the good reccs I've already seen commented, I would say my biggest two pieces of advice are RENT everything you don't have to buy - you can rent cool ski suits etc out there, as well as googles, helmet etc and thay stuff is all so expensive to buy as a one of if you're unsure if you'll do it again! I would also 100000% say ski lessons will make.or break your trip - leave yourself to your friends or self teach, you'll not be happy - do half day lessons so you can spend the other half of the day with your pals! I PROMISE it'll be so so worth it by the end of the week 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
Also, all your training at the gym will be making you have the best ski legs, you're gonna have the best week 🤩
You've probably heard/read this by now, but The Body Shop have called in administrators (for UK part of business). Not clear what will happen but might be an idea to stock up on anything you really love, just in case 😬

Don’t buy super cheap ski socks, but don’t waste your money on the super expensive ones. The expensive ones are made for people who don’t have calves. 😅
