He most definitely did not, everyone knows a sickle must be made from gold and crafted by Metallurgyx to give whatever you cut magic potency for your potions.

If youre wanting to get into blacksmithing then the best thing is to learn to work the metal and establish the primary bevle on the anvil, after that try making some scraper tools its basically the same principle as hand planes crossed with draw knives to scrape bits of metal off of the piece usually uses to make fullers. Then just get 2 to 3 files of various coarseness and sand paper. This is way more work then an angle grinder or bench grinder but in the short term itll be cheaper considering you dont count the time investment.
Ha! I love it. There were also silver bladed knives made for fruit sellers so the taste of iron from a carbon steel blade didn't alter the flavor, and for surgeons because of its natural antimicrobial properties. And to kill the wendigo... 😒🗡️💀
@@RustLegion You can actually salvage silver in a variety of ways. Old knob and tube wiring, silverware from flea markets and thrift stores, coins, circuitry. There's usually someone selling silver coins and bars in any flea market. Although there's probably no way to make it cheaply. But it shouldn't be that much. Assuming you live in the United States. I would guess the best choice for a blade would be coin alloy and silverware. I think sterling was also used for this purpose, or possibly Mexican silver which is 90/10 alloy instead of 92.5/7.5. Little fact: it’s very hard to temper brass and in most cases you end up making it softer and more malleable which means it loses edge retention😢
And that’s why in most cases it’s cast instead of forged
Which is why brass should never be used for a cutting edge. Aluminum bronze is probably one of the best options nowadays for casted blades
