Great deer Terry! Your patience and control when a monster buck is so close, and then to hold off until he is perfectly broadside is unbelievable! So impressive!!
Thanks to everybody for watching Deerseason 22 and all the positive comments!! It sure was a fun journey to be a small part of, big deer like Double Stickers sure are special!

Your mom is a beast - my mom is ONLY 87 years old and bow hunts with a 40 pound Bear Apprentice II. I am heading to Minnesota to bow hunt with her from 25 OCT to 4 NOV. Congratulations on a fine deer.
Thanks Ben! We hope you enjoyed the story of this incredible buck. Stay tuned in because Forrest and Mark have notched tags and we are so excited to show you guys their hunts! Good luck the next time you hit the woods.

Everybody's got to love Terry he gets out there and grinds he works his ass off when food plots and clearance and making things right for the deer and he puts on a good deer hunt for anyone that hunts on his properties but you know what if Terry goes out and sets out on a mission he's doing it with total 100% sincerity and you know what brother bow hunters and brother hunters for deer he's being sincere he's extremely admired
You guys already know that, habitat is TGE most important key, to holding deer. That select cutting of your woods, will prove to AMAZING, in tge years to come. I can't wait to see what comes about, here.
Congratulations truly awesome deer. I shot the biggest of my life this year also what a year it has already been. Love watching you guys with the family. Thanks for all the lessons learned.
Independent Redneck, Congrats on shooting your biggest buck ever this season! What a great way to start out October. Let's keep this ball rolling! Good luck the rest of your season and thank you so much for watching Deer Season 22!
Hayley Brandt, all the time and effort is worth it in the end! We are so happy that we were able to go back in after Double Stickers and close the chapter on him. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the episode, we really appreciate it!
Charley Walker THANK YOU for taking the time to watch them and for the kind words. We surely will do our best to keep the episodes coming between Deer Season '22 and Dream Season Live. We hope you've enjoyed both series and wish you the very best of luck the next time you hit the woods!

Drew Morris, the season just continues to produce memory after memory for the whole team! Best of luck to you guys the next time you hit the woods and thank you so much for taking the time to watch the episode, we really appreciate you guys.
Great job Terry. I have been trying to kind of follow your lead when it comes to food plot architecture. Has payed off great hope you keep videos coming.
You know the deer don't always read the script, sometimes they write them!! 🌴🌹🌴 Wish I could still go hunting, but my knees are shot. And No, I'm not having surgery. I'm a Disabled Veteran & there's no one out here that can help me to go hunting. Makes me sad yeah. And sadly, no deer meat either. Good for you brother, I'm glad you recognize the good Lord. First!! Yep without Jesus none of this is possible. Hope to have good success myself during deer season. We have a Target buck. But either way God is blessed you and me
Nice deer consider a fixed blade broadhead! I’m sure y’all have sponsors for whatever you shoot but I’ve been shooting qad exodus for a few years and shot several deer and never haven’t had a pass through. I’ve also had rotator cuff surgery and had to lower the lbs on my bow. Thats part of the reason I’ve changed along with not having good penetration with mechanicals. Just my opinion 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Hi Jarin, thanks for watching! We planted just a standard pasture mix. Our goal was to get something pretty quickly growing to provide root structure to stabilize the soil and reduce erosion. It also provides some bedding. This summer and fall more broadleafs and natives have started to fill in and shade over some of the grasses where we haven’t mowed lanes!
Terry Turk, thank you for the kind words! We couldn't be happier for brother Terry and Forrest on getting that awesome buck. Have a great evening and again, thank you for taking the time to watch the episode.
I had a similar hit last year. I wanted to give it time but with property lines in play and coyotes all over, I went in after about 30 minutes and found him quickly. Luckily too! Had I given it very long, coyotes would have been all over him. Ran 2 off on the short recovery.

What a hog and congrats! The results from logging were no fluke and most likely the reason "double stickers" made that his primary comfort zone where as he didn't previously. Deer do NOT associate danger with logging. They will actually gravitate to the tree tops, new growth, and overturned soils, as well as the destruction that goes along with logging. That destruction provides extra cover and safety from predators. Personally, I don't think manicuring and cleaning up the logging operation was the best call, especially since you were already nervous about the intrusion on the property. Deer, especially the mature ones don't have an eye for pretty landscape, they prefer it to be gnarly and ugly. Providing that extra green forage was the topper however. Strategically cutting that wildlife access trail leading into the plot/kill zone was also smart as that will help funnel them into you properly. My two cents, from an amateur. Point being, you should consider routine selective harvests in conjunction with your normal hunting management plan as I know this will help keep the deer where you want them.
Come on you guys, I'm sick of giving you good ideas! Lol, just kidding! But you need irrigation system on that farm! Just put it in, and your problems will be over. Even if it's putting in a pump station from a water source to the highest point on that property into a big water tower if you have to. I know one thing I'd put a 10,000 gallon maybe more tank so I can water that and make sure the crops come in or some kind of irrigation system it just has to happen then you'll have the advantage over everybody and you will have crops
Man I love shooting my ‘vertical Mathews bow’ too!! Lol who and why in the world would you call it that-they don’t make crossguns people aren’t going to get confused
Hey man, thanks for watching the episode! Mathews manufactures Mission crossbows as well as Mission vertical bows and they are a partner as well. Good luck this season!
@@forrestbonin7961 Right I know that, just thought it was odd since Mathews themselves doesnt do crossbows, that is why they brand them under Mission I'm sure so its not lumped under the main mathews brand
I'm very confused why you wanted a "park like setting" in your deer woods and why you'd seed grass of all things unless, was this just on the road system?

Hey Terry been watching you for years. I am a Missouri boy myself (moved to Texas) but hunt Kansas.
Concerning trees, you should have called a good certified arborist. With the stress of drought bringing in heavy machinery is not recommended. Trees do not respond to any stress factor/damage over night. Many factors will determine how fast a tree declines. Not all trees will decline to the point of death but may still need to be removed. What you have done is going to impact the health of the surrounding trees for years to come, much more than the drought. Tree preservation means to stay away from the negatives and do the positives. The forest is much more than a standing group of trees. Trees have grown where they are because they have adapted to sun exposure, land contour, water drainage, elevation/grade of soil and more. When any of these factors change stress factors are introduced.
Inadvertently tree decline/mortality is going to increase for years to come. The trees along the created clearings have root damage that cannot be fixed. Soil compaction from the heavy machinery reduces water absorption and chases out pore space (air space). Grade change ether covered surface roots (feeder roots) or cut roots. The decomposed material on the forest floor being removed adds to the drought effects. The root flares on the trees were severely damaged. Trees that had their mainstems shaded are now exposed to the sun.
As a most avid outdoorsman I do not like to see any needless injury to trees. Weather a new house is being built, a new swimming pool install, a driveway or a clearing in the woods, the fundamentals of tree preservation is a must.
