One thing breaks and the entire process breaks down. I bet they built it like a Swiss watch. 150k bd ft in an 8 hour shift? # 20 double bunk trailers per day? Where do they put the mountain of saw dust and chipping?
Hmmm, each one of those saw heads is at least $250k. There were 3 gangs of four? Plus the edgers? The building is probably cool million with the pad that is required. I bet you could set that entire operation up for under $10 million, US. And that includes the heavy haulers to feed it.
For every tree they cut down, they have to plant 5 more. Some of the material/tree's they get are also cut down from fire breaks in forest, that way if there is a fire, it can only burn so much and not an entire forest. The days of coming in a cutting down an entire forest like they did back in the 1800 and 1900's is over.
looks very nice but I can do math and what I see is a operation that requires to much man power and a lot of capital to set up. this set up would have to run smoothly for a really long time before its put the original investment back into your pocket
High speed is greater than 60,000 board feet an hour. And that was over 20 years ago. Looks like you doing about 15. Sorry to say it but you ain’t even slow.

Why does it run so slow?? I worked in a sawmill which did a log every 10sec
A sawmill is always dedsigned according to the logs availability. Surely it respond to the log supply they have
can the forests keep up?...wow
