I haven’t had much experience with a long bar, but I do like the 25”👍👍

Generally i use a 28" for most firewood. With a 8 tooth sprocket and 76.5cc piston on gen1, 372 made before the days of the emissions.
7 tooth is normal. 8 is much easier to throw the chain when loose.
    .
    I have one 50cc saw with a 24"
    And one 60cc saw with a 28"
    And one 394, that runs a 28", 32", or 37"
All the 71 to 76.5cc saws run 28 or 32"
I find once i have wood in blocks, i use a 28" to rip it in to quarters. As its allways well under 24" When it gets over say 60 lbs for a block.
    .
Except for the 50cc saw, all my saws/bars are D009 large husky mount. And are all interchangeable.
Even the one 371 .404 saw with a quick sprocket swap can run a any other bar.

I'm 6 ft 4 and a 28 inch is my sweet spot! I run it on my 462 and 592xpg no bending and not tip heavy on either saw found that to be my balance

Great to know. I switched back to the 24" but I've been thinking about trying a 28" bar.

@FirewoodFella if you want to run mine let me know I'm down for a bit shoulder surgery today so my saws will be lonely and I'm close to Chris

@travisarndt2330 Thanks for the offer. I've been busy moving and hunting the last month. I haven't been able to cut wood since daylight savings. Hopefully will get a chance to cut on Sunday. 🤞
