Having 2 phono inputs was very common on mid- and higher end receivers/amplifiers of the time. What’s unusual about the TR2080 and 2075 however, is that it also has separate pre-amplifiers (RIAAs) for each of the phono inputs.
Yes Tandbergs are the bomb. I have a TR-2045 I bought new in '82 (still have - still great) and a 1980 TR-2080 I bought ten years ago (still use - still great) Over the years I've kept them in good shape. I've had to do two Repairs (a guy 40 miles away works on them for reasonable money) But there's nothing quite like these Norwegian receivers.
Here in Norway some hifi fans restore these old ,but great receivers and tape recorders!

As a Norwegian I grew up with great American and Tandberg gear! Tandberg receivers were great,but I think their taperecorders were even better!
