Ya, their entry level pro model “Advantage” is a really excellent value instrument for the price. I’ve tried it, it’s definitely impressive and the fact that it’s Mr. Mondie’s choice for a grenadilla clarinet really speaks volumes. Thanks for watching Junnan!
🎼Prefer the Wood Density Projection, accentuated sounding gold posts of the Grenadilla Romanza best but, L o v e that s w e e t Sounding Mopane Zenit! Great Vid guys!!
I’m actually not sure! I think it’s only standard French or German instruments, but they might make an Austrian bore variant! It could be worth an email to the company to check!
Hey Shawn! Thanks for watching, I remember you had asked about the Uebels when we were recording a few weeks ago! Hopefully this gave you at least a slightly better idea of what they are like!
I think the biggest issue with putting out any recording, is there is no standard quality of sound present across all audio listening devices. I of course had the benefit of being there and so I know no part of his sound is thin and would have no problem blending. I am also fortunate to have good speakers and headphones and through those I feel I can confirm what my ears originally heard, that no part of his sound comes across as thin. But if I listened through a different device (i.e. computer speakers, phone/tablet speakers, various earbuds) I know my perception could change dramatically. I would try listening to it again across some different devices and see if your perception changes! Also, I wouldn't say any of these instruments are a direct equivalent to a Buffet R-13, but it might make an interesting comparison in the future!
It’s a Livengood mouthpiece made by Lee Livengood, you can find out more about them here! m.facebook.com/Lee.Livengood.Mouthpieces/posts/?ref=page_internal&mt_nav=0
@@florincostea3834 Ah sure! The instruments are all very high quality. I think in general they are a little different than some of the more typical brands. If you expect them to play like instruments from Buffet, you will probably be disappointed. Uebel is a German company and even though these are Boehm instruments, I think some of the German ideas of sound are more present in these instruments. This can of course be changed/compensated with different mouthpieces/reeds/etc. but I think it's important to know where the sound of the instrument starts from. The two instruments I've personally tried the most are the "Advantage" and the "Mopane Zenit." I think the Advantage represents a really good value for the price. It is a professional instrument and it sounds and plays like it. The "Mopane Zenit" has very lovely sound. I think it comes across in the video here, especially if you have good speakers/headphones, but when you are playing the instrument I think it is much more obvious. I would describe the sound as being "dolce," very sweet sounding. I'm not going to lie, the placement of the Keywork on the instrument is different than I am used to and would take me a while to get accustomed to, but I think that's true for most clarinets when you switch brands! I hope this helps!
Sounds like the mopane is less resistant than the grenadilla wood, their beginner model doesn’t sound inferior at all! Great video!

Wow! No wonder he sounded so good on that horn😃
I'm really interested in Uebel's "Emperior" model bass clarinet in Mopane, but I haven't found any recordings of it.
I’m not sure they have made their way to the U.S. yet, but I’ll be sure to check them out when they get here!
@@ParkHouseCreations I know Michael Lowenstern sells them on his online shop, and he is based in New York City.
@@pukalo Thanks for letting me know! I will check them out!
I love my Uebel Zenits!
They are beautiful instruments! Thanks for watching!
Are they awesome? Do you have the mopane?
I think the differences in all these are subtle but I like the sound of the Rosewood clarinet the best

Para mi gusto, el romanza es el que más me gustó
Excelente
Interesting. Do they make Austrian bore clarinets in Mopane?

But what when Eugen plays the German system clarinet, Uebel started out with the German model
I liked the first better...the second one had some intonation issues. The third was nice too.

can someone say how gold posts change the sound ?
Exactly 😅
They sounded too thin and not inviting to blend well when need be. But the first one was the best. Equivalent to a Buffet R-13 perhaps ?

What are the quality of that clarinet? I’m really curious
Which instrument specifically are you referring to? The Mopane Zenit?
I mean the ones in this video

@@ParkHouseCreations pleaseee do a video with you clarinet That’s my dreammmm clarinet🥺😂😂😂
Although these are excellent and amazing instruments I do prefer a more french sounding clarinet. Cool video!
Thanks for watching Shaun!
