Man, this channel inspired me to make a complete career change. I just got my first cert, and I'm already working on the next. Thanks for being what's essentially the coolest IT history channel on TH-cam.
Glad to see I'm not the only one. Jack makes cyber security so interesting, it's hard not to take a look into it and get sucked right in. See you on the web ✌️
I’m pretty sure cyber security is projected to see a 300% per increase in demand over the next few years. I’m a 5axis cnc machinist and programmer, gotta say, cyber security is looking pretty damn intriguing
Is it really that rare that someone listens to the whole podcast...video? This is fascinating! Your hacker- social engineer has brains, and giant balls!!! No way I would have the guts to do what he does.
Your interviews are amazingly well done. I’m not in the industry or involved in any way. You just make this subject interesting to listen to, well done. Really enjoying them!
I just found this channel two weeks ago. I am a cyber security professional for nearly a decade and I just stubbled on this. Amazing stories and great format. I can't get enough!!!
Most of the stuff that's more technical goes right over my head cause I know very little, and they're still rather interesting. Not sure how I landed here but I've been listening to episode after episode while I work and such, it's been great. Nice to see others with more knowledge also enjoy!
This is THE perfect TH-cam channel for me to listen to while doing lengthy tasks! Long episodes that aren’t TOO long that I lose interest ✅ Topics are primarily technology related ✅ Random facts can be learned ✅ Nice voice to listen to for an extended period of time ✅
I hardly ever leave a comment, but I truly appreciate and enjoy your channel. I'm actually looking to get into this career and have been wanting to for a long time. The story telling is amazing and keeps you engaged for the whole process. At some point your rooting for them. Have a good day everyone.
best channel on the net, this is the podcast that got me into podcasts now and actually talks with my friends and coworkers about this channel and podcasts, absolutely love this channel ❤
I have literally told everyone I know to listen to your podcast. I thoroughly enjoy every episode. You're a true gem! And I think I need to be a patreon member to keep you on air lol
I just repeated the last story about vishing to my elderly landlady because she's targetd a lot and she thanked me. When I told her the guy it happed to wrote the book on it she really got it, she seemd to really absorb the information this time, so thank you so much!
Dude , your cover on that 'mission' was too good ! No surprise you got away 😲 The more I listen to this content , the more I realize hackers are turning into con artists of varying degrees. PS - "clean the computer , change my passwords , burn the house down , sell the family , move to another country , do all the normal things you do when you click on a phish" LOL xD
It's always been really. Hacking is the same with anything from a padlock, a computer, irl to social engineering. Just exploiting vulnerabilities and implementing solutions.
In all honesty.. I've never been able to listen to a podcast from start to finish.. thats is.. until this one.. I've listened to about 5 episodes so far since yesterday while working.. love the content sir
The Jamaican story sounds 100% accurate. I'm a Jamaican living in the US and I've come to realize that Jamaicans show more respect to foreigners rather than their own people. Trust me. If these guys were Jamaicans, they wouldn't get pass security that easy. But once you're a different race, it's easy to get into buildings in Jamaica.
Thank you Jack. One of the best channels, certainly the most interesting, on TH-cam. Definitely my favorite. And very inspiring as many have said, got me back into the scene and it's great to be able to relate to almost every episode. Thanks Jack.
Hearing his story about how he got fished made me realise something. I ALWAYS read the entire URL of whatever I'm on. Don't know why, it's not for security either, I just do it.
How to practice SE? Get a job or gig in direct sales (or anything similar like used cars). Even a part-time job at a car lot will get you some real skillz.
I absolutely love those physical penetration stories. Thank you so much for the amazing content. It's captivating, high quality and I just can't get enough of them!
These are actually old episodes. A lot of these are over a year old and I've heard before from the audio podcast. That's why there's no video, he's uploading the audio podcast on TH-cam. I've been listening since 2017 or 2018 I think. I'm having a blast relistebing to these episodes.
I still remember this guys talk at a con.. he talked about how he tricked a microsoft employee into using his USB stick with a lie about he had run over a cat on the way there and was trying not to show how upset he was... brilliant. Another gold standard guest
You're fun to listen to Jack, especially in ambiences like windy fall evenings when no one's around, or snowed in during winter nights, or even stuck in a cheap motel room near the seedier side of town - exactly as your theme music suggests - any ambience reminiscent of mystery....
That moment they got arrested. I imagined Highthower, and the lady in front of the car with her gun drawn was Hooks. It gave serious Police Academy vibes.
Awesome. I’m thoroughly entertained and got a free education too. win-win Sweet episode! Chris has what it takes to be a deep cover field agent. He does the homework, and makes that sale like a closer. No wonder, he used to be with LolSec. Biiiig nuuuuuttzz! ✊🏼
Years ago, I watched a video from def con about social engineering, and I was hooked. Watched a bunch of Chris' stuff, and coincidentally, one afternoon, I got a call from my companies "security department" telling me someone had been trying to log onto my account. The lady said that she just needed to run through a few things and wanted my password to see if my account was compromised. She would have had me, but I started asking questions about who she reported to. I figured this was a test once I was able to slow the situation down and think about it.
50:00 This should be the first thing you learn on the internet. 1. DO NOT VISIT WEBSITES SOMEONE REDIRECTS YOU ONTO VIA A PHONE. 2. DON'T RUN PROGRAMS YOU DOWNLOADED FROM A UNKNOWN SOURCE. 3. AND EXTRA ESPECIALLY IF WINDOWS TELLS YOU IT'S NOT A SECURE PROGRAM. 4. AND ULTRA MEGA ESPECIALLY IF IT'S YOUR WORK COMPUTER
Found this channel a week or so ago and ive gotta give credit where its due. Your videos are great, they gave me inspiration and a little push to get into hacking. Thanks, keep up the good work man :). You just earned a sub
CBT is a term I haven't heard in a long time. Microsoft Office used to come with them free of charge but nowadays they are a VERY expensive paid subscription.
I used to get 2-3 "educational" phishing emails a day. They were pretty obvious. Never clicked one. One day i got flagged, turned out over half the people in the company got false flagged that week because the phishing emails weren't getting clicked and that company decided that the way to fix that was to start false flagging employees so they would look better. They accidentally turned it up to 11 and my employer picked up on the scam pretty quick
I love human hacking stories. I really admire how skilled confidence men can assess their marks in an instant and how to manipulate them. They often know human beings better than any psychologist will ever know.
I have been close to having been phished like he was. And like his it was timing that caused it. I was rushed and expecting something important from UPS and when the email came that a UPS delivery was delayed I nearly clicked on it before coming to my senses. The timing on the scammers part was perfect for me to fall for it. I thought this was crazy but then understood if you send out millions of email it only figures that some will be timed perfectly for the person falling for it.
Get this, I worked a place once. I will not say where etc. This was when the RFID cards were fairly new. Thet would just walk up the a door and swipe there wallet by a plat and walk in. I was working in the "vault" but did not have clearance to come and go as I wanted. Someone had to let me back in if I left. I came back from lunch and of the two people that could let me back in the volt, one was on lunch the the other was in the back and could not hear me needing to get back in. So I pulled out my pocket knife and got into the volt in the same time it took to use the pass key.
I worked at one of the Big 3 in Aerospace. We had Phishing email exercises anywhere from 1-3 days per year for the decade i was there. I wish we gotta bonus for not clickin!!! I was undefeated, they were all vaguely obvious. 😆
At this point it seems the most important part of hacking has become the social engineering side of it. The toolkits are out there, but getting in is much easier by using people skills.
I’m 40 minutes in ready for 40 more hehe I’m an electrician and the first time I had to dig into running cat6 all over a building I was far more interested in the server rack than I’ve EVER been at a breaker panel I live vicariously through your stories
Since all engagement on TH-cam is good for the algorithm I will comment this nitpick: "If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you" is not a "term". It's a saying or expression or something. Anyway back to being engaged in the story...
Man, this channel inspired me to make a complete career change. I just got my first cert, and I'm already working on the next. Thanks for being what's essentially the coolest IT history channel on TH-cam.
I took have been inspired by this to learn coding and hacking lots of possible career security

I’m thinking of doing the same. How’s it going?
GPT’s agi will take hold of the industry very very soon
If you have made it this far.... Jack, your episodes could be 2 or 3 hrs, I would still be here. Most episodes are too short imo, I love your content.
paused playback at that spot and went to the comments.
Jack, we have to thank you not the other way around.
Same here! They totally could be 2-3 hours.
Is it really that rare that someone listens to the whole podcast...video? This is fascinating! Your hacker- social engineer has brains, and giant balls!!! No way I would have the guts to do what he does.
Christopher is really good at SE. You should read his book "Social Engineering: the art of human hacking"
Mr Robot taught me humans are the weakest link in any security protocol, and time and again this lesson is proven true irl.
They are also the strongest link when trained correctly.
Your interviews are amazingly well done. I’m not in the industry or involved in any way. You just make this subject interesting to listen to, well done. Really enjoying them!

Dude, Jack, I am addicted to Jack's voice he is such a good storytelling
Good job mate ✅👏

My thought exactly. Security nuh wah lose him job for upsetting a foreigner who may hold some high position
Thank you Jack. One of the best channels, certainly the most interesting, on TH-cam. Definitely my favorite. And very inspiring as many have said, got me back into the scene and it's great to be able to relate to almost every episode. Thanks Jack.
I love the part where he asked the guards when they are in! Amazing!
So glad to see this channel thriving. I've saved a few videos to binge when I get in the mood next. Seriously awesome stories and an awesome job Jack!

This is one of your best episodes
Your signoff always reminds me of car talk. It's a great tribute. You obviously were a big fan.

LMFAO no way they put the pest control equipment on security’s desk after that big altercation. That is absolutely golden. Had me busting out laughing
Never stop Jack, another amazing episode in the books!
For every con you think "I would never fall for that." There is one you would.
Great channel for listening while working. Love the content.
Thank you so much. This Channel is a true hidden Gem, i love it

Hey Jack- longtime fan. Curious if your sticking to TH-cam over Spotify uploads recently?
At this point it seems the most important part of hacking has become the social engineering side of it. The toolkits are out there, but getting in is much easier by using people skills.
This channel has inspired me to go and BLAG IT!

When hackers back themselves into psychology...
seems like a well rehearsed advertisement
The Jamaica one sounds legit. I think i figured out the building and bank and the things he said are 100% accurate of Jamaica security guards
This channel is freakin awesome!
My Jam man. Love it.
