Hi scott , my cruise control problem was the adjustment was way out of its normal range so after I found the alignment Mark's behind the left fan and adjusted it the cruise control works fine now.
99 GL1500A, I have my one and only Gl1500, all the other bikes I have ever owned in my life did not have cruise control, so when i bought this one with 75k on it last year for 1.32 per cc, Yup! one dollar and 32 cents per CC, I didn't give a crap about the cruise control not working. LOL and I never will. CHING!
Hello Scott, thanks for the video. The book says to replace the dog bone fuse every year, even if it looks ok because it can get a hair line fracture. My advice on the dog bone fuse and what I did was replace it with an automotive inline fuse that has that little plastic type fuse and incidentally carry an extra one of those. That was done after yes the dog bone fuse went bad and left me stranded on the road. Have a great day!
very interesting; what model are you referring to ? i have a shop manual for 1980-83 and it does not have any replacement interval at all for the dog-bone fuse. i assume that as years went by they realized that it became problematic. agree 100% that replacing it with a "blade" fuse is a wise move because nobody is going to have a dog-bone fuse in stock when youiare on the road.
I recently bought a 2001 Goldwing 1800. I just noticed that the controls on the handle bars are not illuminated. I know this section is for comments but I can't figure out where to go to go to ask questions sorry.
The cruise control systems must ALL be in perfect adjustment, aside from vac systems failure . Clutch switch, foot and hand break switches and throttle. Any one of these not adjusted correctly will cause CC to not operate . My rule of thumb with ANY GL1500.......if cruise dosnt work......i dont have cruise !!!
Hi I'm Marshall, I recently bought a 2003 Goldwing off an Ebay auction . The guy said it was a project bike, he claimed he'd cleaned the fuel tank, flushed the fuel lines and put in new fuel injectors and that it wasn't getting spark. Well I atleast know he didn't clean the fuel tank. It was very dirty. I got the tank cleaned but it's not getting power to the fuel pump, the relay is clicking and it will crank over. I haven't yet checked for spark. Marshall Cain
Love your videos. My question is what do you think about the gl1200 carb conversion kit that replaces the 4 carbs with a tube manifold and vw style pict 34 carburetor? Thanks. Scott M.
Hello Scott. I have 2018 GW 1800 DCT just about under 1000 miles, Auto trans. changes the gear so fast about 40 miles I got 7 gear..... Any advice..........
Hi, I have a 94 1500SE with 74,000 miles on it. The problem I am having is the turn signal cancel function has stopped working. The #7 relay is good and the speedometer works. I think it might be the device located on the bottom of the gooseneck. What do you think and how ca I test it? Thanks Dale
98 gl1500, sometimes while riding the dash lights and headlights will cut off randomly or maybe after a bump?? anyways it always comes back on after a while riding. I'm thinking one day it won't
Hello Scott, My 93 gl1500 fm radio randomly goes to straight static on all fm stations and will last for a few minutes then the radio stations will return, what could be the cause?
My 89 GL1500 radio randomly switches to attenuation and hitting the mute has no effect. Other times the mute works as it should. It is never the case that I push the mute and mute doesn't mute.
I dark sided my GL1500 ( best mod EVER !!! ) and yes that will fit. Im not sure if car and bike tire numbers mean the same thing in the same scale, but my only fail was my car tire was not as tall as the bike tire, so my off the line was great....but i was humming 3500 rpm at 70 mph. Since most of us ( 99% ) wish the wing had a 6th gear, id go alittle taller than stock. Chris Caliente did an entire series on it on TH-cam, i recommend it . btw.....just asking about it cause a giant war of haters that say your going to die if u do it.......fare warning
Hi Scott I’m having a problem with my alternator I have put four alternators in this 2006 Goldwing trike trike kit was made by champion and it keeps blowing alternator‘s. The voltage on the alternator starts at 14 then drops to 12 then 11 then 10 then 10.910.810.710.6 you get the idea the only way to stop the droppage is to redline the engine a bunch of times and then it goes back to 14. I’m guessing there’s a ground somewhere that is bad and causing the alternators to drop power or lose control. I’ve checked all the fuses all the relays and the ground from the alternator please help
I try to cover topics that apply to most of the bikes, but that's not always possible. One of the questions today was for the GL1200, so it's not only the 1500. I've got questions coming up for the 1800, 1000 and 1100 as well. That said, the MAJORITY of questions I get are for the GL1500, by far.

YAY! You fixed the loose throttle! :)
Actually I fixed it over two years ago, I just never re-shot video for the opening until now. :)
@@GoldwingDocs Funny that I first noticed it a while back but didn't even notice you fixed the video, ha!

wonderful surrounding, makes me wanna ride 🙂
It's my driveway and front yard. :)
Worn out clutch lever pivot causes clutch switch issues.

You put a new intro in. That should quiet all the people saying your controls are loose.
You noticed! :)

low end goes to hell......freeway speeds are fine
Agree, you lose low-end torque as a result.
Thanks

small green wire coming out of radio controls on left handle bar.......ground it at the clutch handle screw
@@mattsez2879 I look forward to trying that and will report back. Thx for your reply!
Just got myself a 97 GL1500 I was wondering what phone mount you use for your bike?
It's a RAM Mount GDS Dock: goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=51365

trike conversion prob has bigger, and more lights. Try going LED.....a larger Batt...and ad more grounds, and avoid compufire at all costs
Well I forgot to mention that the cruise control unit is under the truck,
1993 aspencade reverse prolems
why do you only the 1500s
