    You're not allowed to bring fresh food from Mexico but it's okay for people to enter the country without permission.
    I live about one mile from the Rio Grande in south west Texas and see with my own eyes what's happening.

    Hi all..iv been taging cattle for years here in ireland..the biggest disaster ever to hit the cattle business..its not for the farmer's benifit..it for the meat factorys to see stock numbers to rise or lower price..my american farmer..my friends stand firm this time

    Up here in Alberta, land of the 'shoot shovel and shut up', they found they had no downer cows, but both provinces beside them did. The cops became involved and found the ranchers did indeed have downer cows. The ranchers had simply lied about their downer cows.Sooo, one might surmise, the 'writing down the numbers by eye', versus computer, would remove the incentive of simply lying.

    You touched on it a little bit at the end but I would like to hear more from you about the organizations that are supposed to support their agricultural members, but actively work against their interests. I’m in Texas and a big topic of conversation here has been how Texas Farm Bureau lobbied against proposed legislation to limit foreign ownership of land. Texas farmers and ranchers are against this - Texas has over 30 million acres of land owned by foreign entities. Why is Farm Bureau supporting foreign ownership of US farm and ranch land?
    I know it comes down to corporate money, would just like to hear your take on it.

    I'm here for this. Is there an effort to create a Online Marketplace for Cattlemen like yourself to sell to the public? I can create an app that sets up the infrastructure to keep inventory and sell to the public. I can build it so that you can sell Quarter / Half Cows and whomever has processing license can fill me in on what they are doing. Just an idea.

    • @Mis-AdventureCH
      @Mis-AdventureCH 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Uh, it's being done by hundreds of producers. Not to pee on your dream, but it's well advanced.

    • @yahkar
      @yahkar 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Mis-AdventureCH no pissing match here. It just seems like if they had api integration with InstaCart , Door Dash, Uber Eats, and Amazon, there would be real change. As long as you had marketing behind it. If it's advanced and not working, then it's time for a different solution. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome is insanity.

      Research the number of cattle currently slaughtered in the US per day, wk, month, year. Only then will you grasp the naivete you display suggesting a market of onesies and twosies can cover the publics appetite for beef.

    Security Theater:
    Definition: Practices that appear to enhance security but do little to improve it.
    Examples: Airport security (shoe removal, liquid limits), visible police presence (patrols, random checks), and superficial ID checks.
    Characteristics: Symbolic actions that reassure without real security, divert resources from effective measures, and create an illusion of safety.
    Criticism: Ineffective, leading to complacency and false security; costly with minimal benefits; causes public stress and inconvenience.
    Purpose and Impact: Reassures the public, deters minor threats, and demonstrates action and control.
    Conclusion: Calms fears but lacks effectiveness, wasting resources and misleading the public.
    Control Theories:
    Government Control: Increased surveillance, conditioning public to accept control.
    Economic Gain: Benefits security firms, boosts security sector, increases costs supporting World Economic Forum (WEF) supports reducing meat production
    Political Motives: Manipulates fear to control public, distracts from other issues.
    Social Engineering: Conditions behavior, normalizes surveillance.
    False Sense of Security: Prevents demand for real measures, maintains order through perceived safety.

    We get our tags at the livestock market. For hogs, you go see the State Ag office on-site and they assign you free tags. I had to show my state ag card for them, and she wrote it down. The market will not tag hogs. For cattle, the market will tag each animal for $5 a piece, and no one ever acknowledged if these numbers were being assigned to our farm or to the market itself. Next time, I'll ask, although the livestock markets have gotten so uppity that even asking a question will get their feathers ruffled. Also, watch those market reports. They are not always accurate but always in favor of the market. We are small and family run and the crap we've had to deal with is worse than mucking the barn! The property appraiser is also being utilized to make things hard for even the small producers.

    This is for taxing and to get control over ranching. They want to put all the big ranchers land in the conversation of the 2050 plan. No human use, no farming,ranching or recreational use.

    Took about 35 minutes for Mr. RCALF to tie this back to imports. If we choke down imports of live animals, we encourage infrastructure (feedlots and packing plants). That will lead to a cheaper option that had no benefit to our economy. We don’t care where your fruit is grown, beef is no different.

    Stop making it a "western cattle rancher issue" . Until every bovine owner/breeder is represented equally, you'll never get traction. Get the dairy farmers, cow/calf producer, show people, exotic bovine owners, etc.. ALL on board with the prevention of EU mandates like this.

    As much as I don’t want to see your industry in US come under restriction, as a Canadian rancher it’s really hard to sit and listen to you complain about the very reasons we have had to use Eid for 20 years from the pressure RCalf put on us to jump through all the hoops. We can work together or we can go down together divided. It’s your choice yet you try to drive a wedge in with saying all beef imported to US is unsafe then cry when your “standards” get applied back to you.
