My headcanon is that after the player character talks about the idea of "gyms" (from the free outbreak dlc update), the clan warden become the first gym leaders.
I didn’t mix in the Sinnoh Gym Leader theme because although this theme here uses the same leitmotifs, it’s still it’s own theme. the unique setup and the style of how they displayed it is very different and wanted to make this one separate from it
