1 week in Paris. The perfect season to visit Paris in the Fall and Winter especially for the Christmas season. They have beautiful Christmas decoration all over Paris and decorative Christmas Markets. Paris lights up so beautifully- day and night. I will go over the amazing places that I visited in Paris and the delicious restaurants that I ate at. The weather in Paris was perfect for me in this late November and early December.
Before the Trip: I create Google doc and google map that allowed to measure destination for each of my desired landmark and helped me curated my itinerary. I also downloaded Paris' metro app RATP which helped me navigate metro route much easier. I also reviewed restaurants ahead of time and booked them in advance. For some restaurants, I checked the website everyday for their reservation status.
    Day 1:
    1. Hotel: Hôtel Jardin de Cluny (4 star hotel in the Latin Quarter). Easy access to metro and restaurants
    2. Lunch: Francette (delicious food and wine). Right by the Seine River overlooking the Eiffel Tower
    3. Eiffel Tower: I spent our time around this area and walked across the bridge to Trocadero gardens afterwards.
    4. Arc De Triomphe
    5. Dinner: Le Bistro Du Perigord (Family owned restaurant). They have amazing food and wine. Reservation is recommended. Small and intimate. I ate the most amazing French Onion soup here. Their duck dish along with their dessert were absolutely heavenly.
    Day 2:
    1. Musee d'Orsay. We spent 1.5 hr here. We then walked across the street/Seine river to the Louvre
    2. I spent about 30 min to an hour at the Louvre. We did not go inside.
    3. We then walked to Tuileries Garden. They are very close to the Louvre
    4. We took the metro the our lunch destination (Song Heng). This restaurant is a casual and small restaurant that only serves 2 dishes on the menu. Very authentic and delicious. No reservation required.
    5. We then took lyft to winery/wine tasting but they did not offer wine tasting anymore
    6. Galeries Lafeyette: We went straight to their roof top to see the Eiffel Towel. It was perfect timing to see the Eiffel Tower lit up. Eiffel Tower sparks was so magical and beautiful. Such a Paris vibe. We then roamed around the mall for a bit and enjoyed their Christmas tree decoration
    7. We then headed to dinner to Coco by the Palais Garnier area. It was hard to get to their location but thankfully we found it and arrived there just in time. Their food was on another level. So delicious and we enjoyed the band that came to play that night. It was such a romantic and elegant entertainment. A magical dinner experience for sure.
Day 3: A day trip to Strasbourg (Will be on another Vlog)
    Day 4:
    1. Sacre-Coeur/Montmarte. We spent a little of time here enjoying the area and people watching
    2. Boulangerie Utopie bakery: Famous and delicious pastry selection.
    3. L'Atelier des Lumieres: Cezanne In Provence. Beautiful display of the artwork through immersive exhibition. We had such an amazing time here.
    4. Dinner: L'invitée. Delicious and creative dish. I loved the beer that I ordered. In the Latin Quarter area.
    Day 5:
    1. Solo time at Musee Rodin: I absolutely loved the garden. The landscape was beautiful, peaceful and inspirational. The inside of Musee Rodin houses mostly sculpture artwork. They also have a separate building for temporary exhibit. I got to also enjoy their Egyptian exhibition.
    2. Lunch: Restaurant Piment Thaï. Authentic and delicious Thai restaurant. About 2 min walk to the Notre-Dame.
    3. Notre-Dame. A classic landmark to visit with beautiful surrounding area to admire.
    4. Paris Seine River Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing Cruise. There are so many options to select one. They have the fancy lunch/dinner cruise option through Bateaux and some casual cruise options. We went with the casual and really enjoyed our time there.
    5. Galeries Lafayette: shopping
    6. Dinner at Terronia (What a wow moment at an Italian restaurant). We loved the restaurant vibe, our food, wine, and our waiter/chef/bartender. It was such an amazing and fun experience interacting with the restaurant staff.
My Trip Takeaway: We were very grateful to have tried delicious food while in Paris. Every restaurant and dish that we ate were all unique and amazing. The weather was just wonderful. I did not thermal while there. Lastly, we absolutely adore our hotel. See you again, Paris ❤️ Paris Mon Amour!

Planning Paris in Christmas 🎄 😍 Can't wait. I will take the advice for lunch on the very first day. I'm staying at a hotel near Eiffel Tower, so will be perfect.

Did you have to make reservations at Francette?

    • @simplyhadassah

I did make a reservation. However, they did have plenty of seats available so I don’t think it’s necessary for an off peak season.

Sorry, these places where you ate are average at best. Next time ask for some help

@@simplyhadassah, I can’t remember where you ate now and I’m not going to go back and watch the video, but for locals in Paris, they would be considered average at best. Some good bistros for example are:
      1. Le Bon Georges
      2. Les Arlots
      3. Café des Ministères
      4. Bistrot Paul Bert
In my opinion, if you want a real French experience, you need to go to a good lively bistro. Those are some of the best for food.
There are also about 15 one-star restaurants where you can have a three or four course lunch and try more elevated gastronomy for about €40 per person (aperitif and wine not included of course). The idea is that while everyone thinks Paris is so expensive, it doesn’t have to be and the main reason people have this impression is because they are going to tourist restaurants where they’re overpaying.
There are many more world class fine dining restaurants, but there is no point in discussing them without knowing a budget because they can be generally very expensive.

@@LeMagnifiqueDoubleAgent-cj4zoI hear your point. Trying authentic food and see more of the local Parisians would be ideal. Thank you for clarifying and for the suggestions. Hopefully on my next visit, I'll be able to try some of those places.
