It's just a man telling other men we need to do better because we have a lot of influence on people. He's saying we need to heal or people not hurt them. Come on, men, if you don't like listening to women, at least listen to your fellow men. He's giving constructive criticism that all don't be so defensive.

We got it twisted as a culture that we respect rappers that stand on business in relation of killing in their lyrics, being tough or getting money by any means necessary, but when Dee-1 stands on the responsibility of being accountable the word gets in a uproar. Wake up to the big picture of this shit, smoke n mirrors exist for a reason.

This is why we are in a dangerous place as society because we can no longer hold each other accountable. That’s why coaches can no longer coach kids that ain’t there’s hard. It can no longer take a village because someone will not like how you correct. We have moved into a very individualistic approach and not a communal approach. Iron can no longer sharpen iron. We’ll just remain dull.

Its gotten so bad that kids think they have to catch bodies to be cool. Dee1 is basically puttin what you listen to in your car over music so people can be taught instead of stayin ignorant. Kids dont look at rap songs as narration, they look up to rappers and think they gotta really live like that if they wanna fit in and be "real"

Music has a huge influence on people. I use to do things id rather not talk about here and I know when I was trying to do better in my life and was given faith in Jesus, I stopped listening to secular music, and only was listening to sermons, Christian music/rap, and then a year later or two i kept listening to dealing, banging music again I started to backslide and acting against what my faith represented and that music made me wanna keep doing it but God wasn't having it, ended up in a really bad spot chilling at a homies place, We were chilling listening to a song that was about money and shooters robbing people (that's not what we were into) but some kids 18-20 who were into it ran up in the house we were in while the song was going they were acting and looking like the song on the TV, then we all were on the Ground. God protected me again, and He brought me back to be set apart convicted me to turn back to him and I stopped listening to that stuff again, stopping smoking etc. You can listen to the music but remember the ears and eyes go to the soul and what you put in ends up what comes out one way or another. Dee-1 is right and I'm glad he's speaking up with his platform. My platform is smaller and can only reach so many people. It's refreshing to see someone so this. 45:50 but when he says we all have Spirit of God in us. That is untrue. If you don't see the problem with the cursing, glorifying murder, sex and sin in music theres a couple answers to that reason, here's a couple 1. it's a very good chance you aren't saved and you need to be born again and given a new heart. Jesus said "unless a man be Born again he can NOT inherit the kingdom of God." 2. You're a new believer and faith is weak and letting sin in your life. That God can and will work on.
But remember also, caring too much about having a name is on the border of creating yourself as an idol/false god which is another reason people don't fully come to Christ because they would rather be God themselvesi. If Your name is written in the book of life that's all that matters.
The 10 commandments are God's moral laws. The price of sin is death, we all have broke. God's laws and stand guilty in God's courtroom and Jesus paid the fine. That's why he said "it is finished" on the cross that menas the debt we owe was paid in full. He died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay our sin debt. Love your enemies , pray for them, give grace.. turn to Jesus Repent and turn from your sins and be born again. He will give you a new heart and eternal life.

Ima feed your mind with lies and corruption but don't stop my bag in doing so cause I be giving back is lame as hell...To me anyway 💯
But what I do know...my "money" not long like theirs to help out anyone so let me shut up!
See how crazy even that sounds?! 🥴🤣🤦🏾‍♀️ I really do pray for these kids tho...the ones with no real concept of their self identity yet...real talk! They are the ones being affected, not most of us ADULTS who can simply appreciate the entertainment for what it is. 🙏🏽❤️💫

This was a good conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think God is moving. I think our issues are deeply rooted. Generations of trauma won't be easy to recover. But each one, teach one. Different levels of healing come in stages. If may not happen in our lifetime. Because it took more than one lifetime to cause this much trauma. But seeds are definitely being planted. I pray that every hustler realizes he can choose a nother life. That he/she can have many different lives in one lifetime. I pray that every rapper know that it's impressionable ppl listening to his "Narrations" & that they hold themselves accountable to that fact. I pray that we lean into healing and stop adding salt to our injuries. I pray that more conversations happen like this on intimate levels. I pray for us all for healing for growth. I pray for safety and strength to endure the weight of accountability and wisdom to know that growth is uncomfortable yet necessarily. I pray for the protection of all men who are heeding the call & conviction of God's voice. I pray these things in The MIGHTY NAME OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE DELIVERER, THE HEALER, OUR PROTECTOR. AMEN.

Whew chile this was a hard watch lol. To answer the prompt I agree with Dee-1 stance. I believe that any growth comes with challenge that’s in music and in life. So when Dee challenges those within his realm or influence and artistry it should challenge them to grow. You don’t have to agree with him, but what has happened is that many times we don’t want accountability or challenge. So instead of respectfully disagreeing with Dee’s challenge what happens is folk take it personally as an attack and respond with insults instead of constructive criticism but I think of babies teething it feels like an attack to their system but it’s necessary growth. It don’t feel good but it’s needed. Overall he is saying when you know better do better EASY but yall making it hard and if you ain’t skilled enough to switch up the flow then it’s time to hang it up

Also do you know what glory or glorify means … you don’t have to have sold drugs to understand the difference of telling a story (narration) and glorifying something meaning upholding it as significant, to elevate, magnifying, caused to seem better (even in your argument you qualifying his level of being from the hood as one as “better” or “realer” than the other) which may be why you still ain’t hip to Dee music or connecting bc the glorification qualifies what music is better than the other …

My man, you have great answers but you’re also lying or avoiding. You’re not just only listening to one artist as you say you are due to you being in the Super Bowl. It’s also because there isn’t much to listen to that actually inspires you. You are a gangsta for sure, now your opps seems to be anything that is the opposite of your current stance in conversation. Are you here to be correct or at least sound correct or are you here to bring true enlightenment? It’s ok to take a step back if a valid point is made while also being an antagonist for the purpose of driving a great and enlightening conversation. 1❤
