Not sure how I've never seent this tornado video but this is one of the better tornado videos I've ever seen...nobody screaming...freaking out...this guys calm as can be...typical Texan.
Love this. I was 7 when this happened, I remember the electricity going out and being really irritated, then wondering why the sky looked green. Ran upstairs to our huuuge window to look outside and saw porch chairs, roof shingles, and all sorts of stuff flying around. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
I was 5 when this tornado hit, I can remember every minute of it. It jumped over our street and destroyed a house on the next street over. Crazy memory
Did they get hit at the end of it when it was weak or at the begining when it was weak. It seems it did little damage to their house and tons to other houses. Maybe it was dying or just starting when it hit their home?
I live in Houston and I remember these storms. I love how Texans generally handle tragedy. Notice how good spirited everyone is? I guarantee you they were out there the next day helping one another clean everything up. No crying on TV for the government to help them, just getting it done.
WOW, where on earth did you find the extended version of this clip?? I have seen the first part of this video many times but I didn't know there was footage past the windows breaking, or the impromptu survey afterwards.
I've lived in Cedar Park my entire life and I was 1 year old when this happened. My dad was at a meeting and my mom was at home with me and we were in the interior closet of my house.
It was in Buttercup Creek, if I recall correctly. I remember being in that neighborhood at the time and seeing it pass over me, and I know it went over the roof of the Albertsons store (it's now an Office Depot, I believe), and I also remember hearing kids in class tell stories about how it trashed that part of town when I was in fourth or fifth grade.
"Everything in the house is breaking Dad. Don't worry about it, son." That man has no fear.

"Almost every window in the house is breaking, dad!"
"Don't worry about it son."
Lol that guy is CHILL.
Now that's how you record a storm. Like a boss.

Small tornado, but spinning violently with multiple vortices. The various vortices account for the spotty damage.
I don't think I would have remained that calm while all of that was going on. Great video. I've never seen this footage before.

Michael Shoemar
it was weak the whole time this video was rolling.....EF0-1.

as brutal and tragic as this funnel was, how incredible is it that this wasn't even the strongest funnel that afternoon, not by a long shot
The tornado hit the Albertsons store and Buttercup Creek. The same day an F5 hit Jarrell and another tornado hit Pedernales River area.
Wasn"t that something?
video taping a tornado like a boss
Isn't that sumthin'. Glad your son was too smart to go grab some worthless floaties.

I have a DVD somewhere of a compilation of home footage from several different people in the area, including this one. If I find it I will post it.

You live in Carriage Hills right?
Uhhh yeah. Do I know you? lol
No, I just recognized the neighborhood. I used to live there.
Actually I might know you.
What neighborhood is this? I've lived in Cedar Park for 16 years and idk where that is.
Great video, especially for the 90's.
"Did you see it come through?"
"I was in the bathroom with the three kids."
"I guess that's where we shoulda been."
Um. Yeah.
This guy has some balls!

Get the dogs in the house, then come back out here............good logic.
jeez i remember this, i was 6.
This isn't the same as having the whole town leveled and half the people dead. Not the same thing.
That's rare but when you see something like this be ready!!!!!!!!
