I really enjoyed that one James. The prospect of remoteness was always there and it didn't disappoint. The deep snow is all very playful - mind you if you were caught in a blizzard it would be no joke up there. I gotta say the views on axe edge moor were crystal clear and the sunset as granddad negotiated yet more snow was pretty epic. You deserved a bit of pub time. Good going. Mark
Wye Explorer We went up there a couple of years ago in a blizzard and had great fun trying to find the trig point. I treated him to the pub as I was driving 😇 it’s all the motivation he needs in a glass! Glad you enjoyed it Mark All the best
@@wasdalemanexploringoutdoor5137 The ground has been tested out then in poor or some may say good weather. I can imagine that pub being a cosey one. It was a good outing...
SUDUT BELUKAR Hi There, You certainly are not going to get snow over there😉 I’ll check out your channel, yours definitely looks more lively with animals and the forest. Regards James
Yes they are very clean, you don’t tend to see many people in them. The wild life like deer are very shy, you’ll be very lucky to see them. Why are you forest not clean? Is it from people
Absolutely stunning footage, James. Great to see that you were both able to get out and experience the incredible snow. All the best and looking forward to your next.
Cheers Olly, I appreciate you commenting. We are out today and what a contrast in conditions, working in the next one. I’ll get round to watching yours over the weekend mate, I think we are having a TH-cam catch up night. All the best.
Nooooooo..... You walked to the stone even though it was the same distance as that pub !!! Shame on Grandad Keith, lol... Tell him pubs also sell spirits... ;) Enjoyed that James, looked hard going, but great looking views and even some drone as well... Great to see a vid from you...
I think he’s trying to be more healthy and all that kind of thing, although that soon lapsed in the pub on the way home! The hardest walk I’ve done for a while until last weekend when me and Kir officially broke ourselves on a 20k plus walk, keep an eye out for that in the coming couple of weeks. Hope your well and thanks for commenting, glad you liked it. Regards. James
Hi James nice area up there & a dumping of snow always does wanders for the scenery, gives it that bit xtra draw..that stone post may well be a guide stoop, boundary stone or waymarker stone.there's a lot round the peak district & something iv'e taken a lot of interest in of late.there's a cracking example of a waymarker cross in shillito woods near the longshaw estate if you ever get that way.It was a medieval trade route & the cross was a way of reiterating & reassuring the christian faith of any traveller that was passing through..It's great to learn all about why certain name places in the peak district have their names & axe edge moor is actually the source of several rivers in the area,so grandad Keith was spot on with the reason behind its name..looked a grand day out in stunning scenery & conditions, bet it was cold though lol..tfs James..Andy.
A mate you know your stuff! I couldn’t see anything on the map whatsoever and it seemed to not look that old to me, but it must be there for a reason and I am sure the reason will make sense if you can find it! I think that place looks better with the snow and makes for a more challenging day it especially with the odd hole here and there. 😉 I’ve just started taking more of a detailed interest into the places we are walking as it’s easy to just miss out, and it’s made for a more enjoyable day out with like minded people. I have to admit Keith was correct (only because he had the book!) that will go to his head now. All in all a great day out and a good test for the camera and mic. Thanks for watching pal. Regards James
Glad to here...I’ve been trying get the fitness back after Christmas. I’ve been racking up a good few kilometres per week. Thanks for commenting. Regards James
Great video chaps with some stunning views, it would have been easier to wild camp up there and stay warm in the tent and sleeping bag, would have been great for selfie stick too in the morning.. Well done Both of you because that looked hard work too. Ate Bill.
Hey thanks for commenting bill. Even my mother in law asks about selfie stick! That was one of the coldest walks we have ever done, I can’t believe the temperature drop once the sun went down it was incredible. We only ever seem to go up there in the snow, but great fun and good exercise. Thanks for the positive comment. Regards James
Thanks for the comment and sorry for the delay, I've just found a stash of comments that have been hidden. But it greatly appreciated. Happy new year to you.
I couldn't help it - every time you said Flash, I said Arh Harrrrrrrrr! Fantastic walk out in the snow and the footage looked superb, is this filmed on your Hero 7 Black and in 4K? I did not e-mail you, as I have now got one on order, so did not want to get bad news from you lol. The sound was very good as well, was this the GoPro sound or were you using an extremal mic? Looked like you had a canny dumping of snow there mind and I missed out on a snowy lakes trip, when I twisted my back at work. Them 360 views from the summit were superb and nice to get a hot drink there as well. Great sunset, great drone footage and a dam fine watch, really enjoyed it. Cheers Alan
Flash Gordon was a classic film, I think I need to watch it again soon! Yes Alan you will be pleased to here it was the Black go pro 7 and 4K 30 FPS used. I think you will be happy with your camera and the choice you have made. The picture and stability is very good, unless your in low light but you could add a frame and led light to make up for it. The sound was a rode video micro and adapter with Kirsteens ankle tight to make it smaller. The only down side to this camera is the sound without a mic, in less windy conditions you would get away with an wind buffer from Amazon. I switch to this when it’s raining or damp as fitting the external mic opens the side door and makes the camera not waterproof. All in all I think it does a nice job considering all the conditions it’s going to have to put up with. Glad you enjoyed it and I’ll look forward to you using your new camera. All the best.

Wasdale Man Exploring Outdoors The forests in your country are much cleaner than in my country
