Beautiful yard. This was a very good interview. As an Agronomist, I approve what he said! Don't forget that you will be cutting your grass year round, unlike up North!
I'm really impressed! I love that you both are knowledgeable on landscaping. The questions and conversation were perfect for Floridians looking to upgrade their space. I learned a lot from this video. Thanks!
This a was a good video, I love that you went straight to the Palm talk… in Western New York, I have potted Areca palms and others. Can you imagine an areca Palm that grows slowly?? Hardy bananas, Sabal minor and Needle Palms can be planted in the ground and give that tropical vibe in states that people move from.
Is there a way other than herbicide to kill turf grass when making new beds? Up north, a sheet of cardboard with compost above and below the cardboard will smother turf.
Thanks Melanie for the very informative video. Can you ask the designer RJ what are the sun requirements for the Alocasia / Elephant ears plant, PLEASE. I live in zone 9b also, Orlando area
Thanks for watching! If you have any lawn care or landscaping tips or questions - feel free to drop them here!

This is a great video. You covered so much important information very quickly and thoroughly. I moved here from the Midwest, so it’s very helpful.
