- Hey guys, here's what my day in DC looked like! Having these talks really help create healthy discussions about Asian American representation. If you want to see more Asian American faces in the media - get involved and SUPPORT! Following & subscribing might not seem like it's a big deal but even those acts make a big difference.

You are exactly what I stand for. For the longest time I've wanted to do what you do but I've felt like I couldn't because I wasn't white. It makes me soooooo happy to know that an Asian role model is out in the media trying to change things
Love that you're supporting Asia Americans & Pacific Islanders Arden! I'm Southeast Asian American but people say i'm not "Asian enough" because I don't look East Asian. So i think that's another issue i see in the media.

I really enjoy watching your channel-- Im a KAD, and I went to Korea for a Language program for adoptees and I met some amazing people. I love Daniel but I have to disagree with him on this. African Americans have a fundamentally different history in America; the reason why they are not "nation specific" is because the way slave traders separated people from the same country/village to stop communication between the slaves, it's almost impossible nowadays to trace where their ancestors are from. On the other hand, much of the East Asian community were immigrants, and even separate ourselves based on nationality when we settled in the Americas.
I was just about to say this. Nobody asks Black people in the US "where are you from" unless they don't think you're AA. The same happens in the media. Also, Latinx characters get asked all the time what country they're from so that part was a falsehood too. The only time you don't see someone ask a Latinx character where they're from is because it's already an established fact (e.g. Jane The Virgin) *or* a character assumes and is promptly corrected (e.g. Clueless).
On a lighter note, it's nice to hear Asian content creators excited about helping other Asians in the industry! That act alone helps create representation immensely!

There's this teenage show in Brazil that decided to "diversify" their cast, but they made it so not natural, I mean... it's full of stereotypes. The asian girl? Her parents are super controlling and want her to be a doctor and marry a guy whose family has known her's for decades. I know, it's ridiculous.
