Im Dyspraxic. So I went into the settings on screen. Then set the playback speed to 0.5. Even then still struggle to see exactly where your putting the bext stitch in a new hole. As sorry to say. You sometimes cover it over with your thumb or finger. But it's still a good video.
Thank you so much! I scored with some white lace weight I found at a thrift store and immediately wanted to add lace to a crochet dress I'm working on. Such a beautiful pattern! ❤
Thank you for sharing. Great pattern...making lace out of remnants of yarn...to add to jumper edges, crochet or any blankets etc.. Figured I could do this lace while simultaneously attaching the middle chain of each chain 3 (at the straight edge of the lace, to a project. Now I can embellish my plain jumpers with your lovely pattern.
I would love to have a written pattern because after making the first pattern repeat I had no idea how I got there and knew that I'd have to watch the video several times to be able to understand the pattern.
Thank you very much for your lace tutorial. You gave very clear instructions. Easy to understand . I copied it using crochet thread size 30 (hoping to use it for when I make my silk blouse) but I added a little bit on the upper edge of the lace, where I will sew it on my blouse. Instead of just one double crochet I did : one dc, ch 1 then 2dc. Again thank you very much
I think the most important thing to tell people about this lace edging is that it "grows" sideways! It is the only pattern you don't need to know the final length of, to make your base chain! You grow it by completed motif, which lands the crochet hook exa tly where it needs to be to make the bext one! -- I crocheted a more primitive version of it (i had found the pattern in a magazine where a woman had found vintage instructions for this that had been written when America was still a colony of England, and certainly, no standardized shorthand was known or used for the stitches! She was determined to make it gappen, so she guessed at what was meant, over and over, until she got it to work! I was relieved, because i had sewn an ivory dupioni silk wedding dress (underluned and lined!), for which i had also made a chiffon with gold netting vest, that draped into the train. It had an Elizabethan stand-up collar, and that needed a gold metallic lace trim from the waist, around the collar, and back down to the waist. Even measuring it wouldnt have given me the actual length! I was still crocheting on the plane to the UK! I like your version better, because the single crochet, two dc, followed by another single, over and over, make for a more solid "flower petal" silhouette than the one i was using had, which was simply picots on that return trip. It was pretty, but i do like yours better! Thank you! -- One comment about some people who would like you to slow it up -- i remember having known exactly what to do and just doing it, but since i haven't, even with experience i wasn't able to follow along. I might have to repeat watch with stopping and writing down what you say? I think for the people with perceptual problems this might have been nearly impossible to follow, and they truly loved it so much! I do hope they have it now. It IS such a useful trim, growing to the length one needs it! Thank tou!
Thank you for this great tutorial! 💙 I am left handed so when I follow your instructions, I have to remember that left and right are flipped 🤣I would have struggled even more without your voice lol I am an ambitious beginner and I believe that I will master this wonderful pattern eventually!
Great video! I’m a super newbie but I could follow along. Perfect for the dollar store princess yarn (i used a 3.0mm hook because its the smallest in my cheap hook set) I already have several inches! Lovely pattern 💕
I loved what you explained and i was doing so well and then when you did the second piece of lace to join on the instructions weren't as clear for me and i got lost. I might have to go back and start again.
Thank you so much for this lovely tutorial on crocheting lace! Regtig iets wat ek graag sal wil doen en jy verduidelik so mooi. Baie dankie Mariette! 🤗💕🌻
I love this tutorial, it's very nice! I'm a beginner crocheter but I'm excited to make this lace for one of my projects someday. Tell me, how do you attach it to your projects?
I am so happy that you like the tutorial!! It depends on the project. I made it to attach it to my pantry shelves with tacks. You can sew it onto your projects as well. Like you would sew on store bought lace. Tag me when you make it! I would love to see it! 💜💜💜
Loved the pattern. Im a newbie. Worked along with the video. It will be nice if you left the chain instructions on the screen till the stitches are completed. My work doesn't look this perfect, but I'm ripping it out and starting again. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your valuable feedback on the text on the screen untill the stitches are complete. I will keep that in mind when making more tutorials. 💜💜💜
Oh I am sorry to hear that. I do not have a problem with cramping. Maybe you should look into different ways to hold the hook? Are you using the 'knife grip' or 'pen grip'? Crocheting shouldn't cause you pain. Sometimes it is just how you hold the hook or the specific hook is not suitable for you to work with. I used to get a blister from the steel hooks and since I switched to Clover Amour hooks with the grips on the back where you hold them, the problem disappeared.
@FoodNerds I would suggest the hook size recommended for the yarn that you are using. In this videos sample I used crochet no 5 yarn and a 2.25mm crochet hook.
The video is very informative and helpful but the project is so small/zoomed out it’s hard to see 😭 Tbf I’m also on mobile so it’ll probably be much better to watch on like a computer or something lol
I am glad you find the tutorial informative. The other thing that might be helpful on a mobile device is to switch to the highest video quality that you can 😉 Hope that helps! 💜
Omg finally a crochet lace tutorial with a voice over and in english! 😊
I am so glad that you found this tutorial and that it is helpful!! Enjoy! 💜
This looked a bit intimidating at first, but it's actually quite simple after I got the hang of it. Thanks so much for making this video!
It is my pleasure. So glad that you found it helpful!
Wasn't expecting such a charming voice! This tutorial is a bit advanced for me, but I'll definitely use it once I've improved my skills.

What is brilliant about this lace pattern is you don’t need to guess how long to make the beginning chain to make the lace fit your project
