    Hello again, by any chance you still have your trackpad? If yes could you send me pictures of the haptic engine from multiple angles?, I would really appreciate it

    Thank you, my Taptic Engine stoped working when I tried to remove dust from the trackpad with a sheet of paper y don’t know if the paper did something to the trackpad so I just order the screwdrivers to try and clean it if it doesn’t works I’ll have to buy a new trackpad

      Good luck, at least either way you know it's not too difficult to fix.

      this exactly happened to me, word for word. I tried cleaning the dust on my trackpad with a sheet of paper lol, few days later, my Taptic Engine stopped working. Have you resolved your situation yet?

    where did you buy the trackpad? and if I spilled a drop, literally a drop of water, will it get damage?

    • @Milyonair
      @Milyonair  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Track pad was from eBay, just search the model number of your device to make sure you get one that’s compatible. As for the drop of water I’m not sure where you mean to drop this single drop, if you mean on the surface of the trackpad it’s self then no it won’t damage it, it’s glass so it is waterproof, but if the drop somehow managed to find it’s way inside then it’s possible damage would occur. Hope this helps.

    What do you mean it didn't sit right? was it miss aligned?

    • @Milyonair
      @Milyonair  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Baacster yes the trackpad doesn’t fit the space 100% you have to line it up carefully and tighten it in the correct place, this is the same with the original, just how it’s designed. It leaves the tiniest gap at the edges which you don’t notice unless you have it flush in one side in that case you notice a tiny gap. Hope this makes sense.

    Would you recommend disconnecting the battery first or just proceeding with the replacement of the trackpad?

      Bart Skiba I just powered mine off, however it did like to power its self back on a couple of times, I’d imagine you’d be okay without disconnecting the battery as long as you don’t go touching things unnecessarily and cause a potential short.

      @@Milyonair Okay cool! Would you recommend getting another ribbon cable for the trackpad (new trackpad) or just using the one that's already in the Mac?
      Lastly, you mentioned you needed to re-align the trackpad. Is there anyway to make sure it fits correctly before closing the case?
      I had liquid damage on the trackpad and the clicking isn't consistent so I wanted to go ahead and get that removed and replaced. Apple wanted to replace my entire top case for 800 something dollars which is beyond absurd!

      @Milyonair  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bart Skiba I just used the ribbon cable from the old one, just don’t break it it’s quite delicate. I guess if you just tighten it up just enough to hold it in place then just turn it over and check the alignment then you can reposition if need be before fully tightening the screws and putting the bottom case back on. And yeah Apple are insane sometimes. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Do you recall how many washers there are?

      Anthony Bleyer hard to remember but I’m almost sure there was one short 🤔

      Okay I thought I was missing a washer but maybe not then. Any clue to which one did not have a washer?

    • @Milyonair
      @Milyonair  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dr4n0nym0us No idea sorry, it's weird that they would just miss one washer out, I guess I just put it on which ever one, either way it hasn't made a difference to operation since I did it, still works 100%, hope this helps.

    first of all you have to disconnect your battery, and i hope anyone had watched this video he didn't damage his computer, like I did.

      It should be fine to power off and disable auto boot. Which can be done by typing ' sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00 ' into terminal.
