- Come along and join us for our first snowfall in the Smokies in 2024! Some places had more than others and in some places it was just rainy mix.
We wanted to show you some of our favorite historical places as well as they are beautiful in the snow.

My mom was born in Knoxville and she use to go to Gatlinburg when she was a kid. She has told stories about how it looked back then and how it was nothing like it is today. I enjoyed hearing about your connection to the area. There is nothing better than seeing the Smoky Mountain area in the snow!

Our first vacation to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg was last year in May . We fell in love with the Smoky Mountains and came back in December Christmas week. It's so beautiful to see it with snow now.

Thanks for the video I had never seen those covered bridges they were both so beautiful. It was nice to be able to see all of Gatlinburg without the crowds . The last time we were in Gatlinburg it was like walking in a herd of horses and cows you couldn't enjoy anything. I would be coming there now if I wasn't dealing with a severe broken ankle .

Been going there over 50 years and it has changed so much.
We always had a good time going to pigeon forge, Gatlinburg and cherokee through the years. We dont go very much because things are so expensive now but we still love the memories of the 100's of times we went. Beautiful place.

I'm 50 now. In the mid 80's & early 90's stopped for the night once a year in July on our family vacations. Pigeon Forge has grown in these past 35 years or so. Gatlinburg was always more condensed. I now take my children to the Smokies. We love it & I hope to retire there someday.

Been going to Cherokee and Gatlinburg since I was 2 years old. I am 62 now. Many trips with my parents who I miss very much. We always loved it. Boy how it has grown now though. Use to be very simple. My sisters, when they were young, went trick or treating in Gatlinburg at the stores. Good memories. Gatlinburg is a little too crowded for us now, though, we still go sometimes. We stay in Cherokee more often now. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful video! We've had snow and cold here in SE Kansas the last 3 days. Light snow, but highs only in the single digits with lows below zero. Unusual for us. I can't get warm! Brrr! 🥶 Stay warm! ❤

Great video! Im a guy born in 1960, and my family visited the Smokies most years from the late 60s to 80. It was our yearly vacation spot. Johnsons Inn was our spot in Gatlinburg. Dad loved to take us to Mynat Park, and cook breakfast on our little Coleman stove. In the evening our big thing to do was going to ReaganTerrace ( I think that was the name) and getting Frozen Yogurt from the little shop there and sitting on the benches watching everyone walk by! Our entertainment for thw evening ! I miss those simple times and am not a big fan of all the moonshine and 420 places that have come to be in town .

We visited Gatlinburg the week before Christmas. Stayed in a cabin. We've been to Gatlinburg years ago. But the most scary thing was taking the bypass into Gatlinburg. Didn't know that we were at the very top and had to wind our way all the way down into the area of the Aquarium. What a trip.😊
Those roads can get real rough for sure. Did you enjoy the cabin? Wish you could have had a snowfall in the Smokies. A magical thing

My husband and I always go to Gatlinburg. We always stay at that comfort Inn right at on the right as you go into Gatlinburg. No it’s on the left and Oh red is right there at the end of the road we love Gatlinburg I would love to learn more about it so I can find more interesting places to stay, this year was our first trip to Anakeesta and it was great. Thanks for that tour.

Beautiful. Gatlinburg is nothing like it used to be. It's sad to see it now. The whole atmosphere has changed. Seems to be all about alcohol and bars. When I come I stay in nature. Love your channel. Very sweet and beautiful couple. God bless.

My personal history (& love affair with the area) w/G'burg began in 2005, when my family began taking yearly trips; We'd typically go in Feb/Mar cuz my Mom wanted to see snow!! But my Mom had a history of going to G'burg on a few family trips ALL the way back to when she was a teen; :) She described to us how different (less commercial & built up) it was then; But even tho its different now, it's definitely NOT different in a bad way - just different! 😊 We LOVE G'burg/PF/Sev'ville (have become mtn lovers, even tho from Louisiana!) and look forward to going back 'home' every year!! 💗 Again, thank u for your lovely content!! 🥰🌄

We live 5 minutes from Parke County Indiana. Home of Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. It is 10 days long and has over 2 million visitors and many Covered bridges.
That is awesome! Covered bridges make for great scenery! Beautiful is the only way you can describe snowfall in the Smokies!

We came in 1971 on our honeymoon. It has been my favorite place since then. We have been there many times. Back in 1971, Sevierville was just a small town and Pigeon Forge was not very impressive either. The last time we were in Gatlinburg was 2022 and we were there when there was a car show in Pigeon Forge. We got stuck in a gridlock on that road from Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge and it actually took us 7 hours to get from Gatlinburg to Traffic Light #3 in Pigeon Forge! I swore I’d never go back, but I know I will, I can’t stay away. I’m glad I found your channel 😊

The first time my husband and I were in Gatlinburg, we met Zenith Whaley. He carried us to the Whaley cabin and the Messer barn. Then to the cemetery. he told all kinds of history. We loved it. We're getting up in age and probably won't make it back? Thanks for the film.

Thanks for showing us the beauty of the snow in the Smokies! I was excited to learn that Martha Jane Huskey is Brooks' 6th great-grandmother. When I researched my ancestry, I learned that my roots go back to the Smokies and Martha Jane Huskey is my 5th great-grandmother on my dad's side. I have only been to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area once, but made it a point to visit that cabin. I was born with the surname Carter, but I learned that my 2nd great-grandfather shortened it from McCarter. Thanks for the great videos. I hope that I can visit the area again soon.

I enjoyed your video. We’ve traveled to the Smoky Mountains for over 40ty. years. We are sad to see the Moonshine and other distilleries in the area. I do not like to walk the streets after dark anymore. For the past 2 years we’ve stayed in Pigeon Forge.
It is part of our heritage and I’m thankful for the ones who talk about that. But I do agree there are too many at this point. We are glad to have you here! Snowfall in the Smokies is a beautiful sight!

I came to GA in1976. In Feb. 1977 my church brought the college group up to Gatlinburg on a ski trip. I was nothing then like it is now! It was more of a small town then!
It has lost a lot of its small town feel and charm. We agree. But it is hard to think of anything more beautiful for us than a snowfall in the Smokies 😊

Born in LaFollette, grew up all around this area. I miss it - good to find a channel from a fellow Tennessean. Seymour, Sevierville, Kodak, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge...that whole area...it's changed a LOT since I was a kid in the 50s.

My grandfather helped to build the roads across the mountain into Cherokee. I have been going to Gatlinburg since I was a child,when nothing was there. It hurts my heart to see what it is today. Everything used to be owned by local families and nothing is now. It's a shame how commercialized it is.
We do understand that as Brooks and his family helped settle. It has definitely changed so so much but boy it is still beautiful to see a snowfall in the Smokies 😊

Hello🤗. I woke up at 3am in pain. It happens almost every night now. What an encouragement and blessing it is to find your video of one of my favorite places in the world! My husband and I took our 3 sons to the Smokies many times…we loved to camp, hike and walk the streets of Gatlinburg for many vacations! Unfortunately, my husband was killed in a forklift accident when he was 52 years old. I know he’s with Jesus now but I miss him so very much. Our sons took his death hard and have moved away so my life is lonely, but I’ll always have those precious happy memories to give me moments of happiness. I pray that some day we could reunite in the Smokies and spend time together to celebrate our family again.

I live in Carter County, a little over an hour to your East, and I was a bit disappointed in the snow. I would like to have a good one again.

Was there two years ago and was disappointed to see all the large buildings along the ridges of the mountains. It seems to me these condos and buildings take away the beauty of the mountains and they are everywhere up there!
It has become saturated to be sure. There is still nothing quite as beautiful as a snowfall in the Smokies 😊

Disappointing that moonshine liquor is the draw instead of beauy of the mountains.
We love moonshine as part of the heritage of the area as it’s been a part of Brooks life growing up but you are right. Nothing draws you to the mountains like the beauty especially a snowfall in the Smokies!
Shows how this world is-- there is ALWAYS some FOOL that wants to destroy something as beautiful as that Harrison Covered Bridge... GLAD they had enough sense to STOP that.

So beautiful! Brings back so many memories. I started going to Gatlinburg as a baby...50+ years ago. I can't believe how much it has changed. It has always been my home away from home. I also can't believe how much downtown Gatlinburg has changed. One place I remember is Xanadu. I loved touring the house. We mainly stayed at Leconte Creek and Johnson's Inn. The Village was my favorite place. So many good memories.
