- hey so it's been a while but here's some more haikyuu as tiktoks! the videos are kinda old now but I still had a bunch saved so I thought I might as well share them (I've still got enough for one more video so you'll be seeing that eventually as well). why do we have to say "girls, gays and nb babes" nonbinary IS NOT another gender, and categorizing it in a third section implies that it is. ignorant.

It very much so is another gender identity. Is there a joke I’m missing in this?
nonbinary is used as an umbrella term for genders that don't fit the binary i.e. not man or woman, so it's basically like saying men, women and others who don't fit that. I think you're trying to say that nonbinary shouldn't be categorized as THE third gender because nonbinary is not a single gender identity that everyone else obviously fits into, which is important to remember, but I don't think the phrase "girls, gays and nb babes" implies that those are the three genders... gay isn't even a gender lol. I hear more often the version of this phrase that's "girls, gays and theys" which does sound like everyone who isn't a man or a woman either uses they/them pronouns (which not all do) or that they/them pronouns is itself a gender (which it's not), so I think "girls, gays and nb babes" solves this problem. Again, this phrase isn't even meant to imply that these are the three gender categories, it's really to describe a kind of internet culture group that excludes cisgender heterosexual men

@@yukixx i appreciate u replying/gen, and yes obviously ik the "gays" is not a gender, i don't live under a rock. i just don't see the point in addressing people in this manner. why categorize anything at all? why stick labels where it is not needed. its not hard to say "hey peoples" "hey folks" "hey everyone" . i just wont ever understand the unnecessary labeling. but, thanks again for your reply/gen/pos
I see where you're coming from but I don't really think this is about labelling, it's just a phrase used in the LGBT+ community. Obviously if I was greeting a group of people I wouldn't have a list of labels that I specifically greet, I would just use inclusive language like "hey everyone". Labels are part of our language whether you think that's a good or bad thing, and we're just using our language in our jokes/phrases/conversations, it's not always about putting labels on everything
