Happy New Year! Thank you for showing the baseline cardigan again - because of you I'm going to knit it this year too. I follow sosuknits of course, as she is one of the few Austrian designers - but it hasn't really appealed to me so far. Your colorful striped version was the first to really tempt me. I wish you a pain-free new year from the bottom of my heart! I've had arthritis for decades and had several tumor operations on my knee, so I know that every pain-free day is something to appreciate and be happy about! 🫶🏻 I'm looking forward to your next episodes and wish everyone a great year!🎉
Oh yes! I’d love to win that beautiful holiday bag and striped yarn! Thanks always Mandy for your informative videos. I learn a lot from you and also get some inspiration. Here’s hoping that you are pain free very soon.
Happy New Year❤My first watch of 2025! Thank you so much for all your generosity and inspiration last year❤Hope you and your family have a peaceful and bountiful new year❤
You and your stripes! If you don’t say anything your sweater looks great. I also don’t mind about the color running, and wear my scarves that have runned. Here’s to a happy healthy new year!
Happy New Year! I'm catching up a bit late 😏 The East or West is beautiful and I couldn't see the colour run 🔭 Asking my favourite colour is like asking me to pick a favourite child lol! To wear though, black, grey, green, bright pink, are probably my top choices. Today. Tomorrow, who knows! 😂 xx
I love that bag, I don’t care if it is Christmas. I do Imagine Landscape’s kal in December. The bag will be perfect to use for that. Have a happy new year.
Happy New Year Mandy! Your knitting goals are inspiring. I plan to work on a few sweaters and socks for the coming year. Thank you for all of your generosity over the year!
Happy New Year, Mandy! I have really enjoyed hearing about your knitting this year on your podcast. Thank you for sharing your making here. Your Baseline cardigan looks fantastic, what a fun cardigan that will be.
I love all the colors in it. I have a daft days cardigan made from the Blackbird Sycamore Yarn advent last year. I can't wait to get a picture of both of the cardigans together. The colors are all awesome ❤️
I love gnomes so much! And I’ve really been thinking about making some Christmas socks for myself. I love reds, pinks, and grays, really all colors. ❤❤
Thank you for a lovely episode. I did my first brioche pattern and just finished the briochealicious shawl by Andrea Mowry it was really fun, I haven’t quite figured out how to fix messed up stitches but I loved knitting it.
I think the hardest part about brioche is fixing messed up stitches. When I knit an all brioche hat (in one color), when I messed up, I had to take it out.. After doing that multiple times 😂 I put in a lifeline. I'm hoping the harlow being two colors will help with mistakes, but I guess we'll see 🙂
Ooo... the sock yarn in your physical prize giveaway is just my colours, and ghe bag is adorable! I don't think anyone would even notice the yarn bled in your sweater that you are wearing. It has the illusion of a tonal yarn. Lol I dreamed last night that I knit several Musselboroughs and they were all way too big. I'd forgotten about it until I saw yours. I've never even knit one. I've made the Friend to Friend as a gift knit for one of my friends and it was a really fun, quick knit. My friend loved it and I have yarn to make one for myself.
It's funny how dreams work like that! 😂 The Musselburgh is a fun knit. I think it appeals most to me because once the increases are done, the majority of it is just knitting around and around. The friend to friend is going to be a great cast on. I've been looking for things to keep my shoulders warm 🙂
Happy 2025, Mandy! What a beautiful gnome-y holiday set! Thank you for offering that😃 The top you are wearing is lovely, and i can't really see the bleeding, even on the large tv, until you hold it close & point it out. Xx
Happy New Year 🎉🎉! I love your podcasts. And thank you for such a great give away. I'm always looking for Christmas socks yarn. My goal is to have 25 pairs of Christmas socks. One for each day of advent.
Hi Mandy. I so recommend you try the plumped up cowl by Andrea Mowrey. It uses the bulky yarn (called for spin cycle) I made one in just one day. I used some of my handspun and some cascade eco. It is a great and quick brioche project and it is amazing to wear.
Thank you!! I will definitely check this out. I love all of the new ideas I'm getting for bulky yarn from you guys. I love the idea of being able to knit some nice gifts (and some for me!) 🙂
Re: Perfecting finishing: I'm making a blanket with left overs of my 2023 advent on my knitting machine. What I am doing is knitting them in 40 stitch strips about 30 inches long and then mattress seaming them. And its giving me a lot of practice on perfecting my mattress stitching. I think I need to do some research on weaving in ends in a way where the ends don't poke out though. I'm weaving in trillions (it feels like) of ends on my Daft Days Cardigan, especially since splitting for front and back because now it's 6 ends every 4 rows, and I'm noticing that my inside edges have all these fluffy little 0.5 cm ends poking out. I am getting faster at weaving in after weaving in almost 100 ends so far though.
Thanks for another lovely episode, and Happy New Year ! I'm sorry to hear you're still in pain, wishing the new year will be gentler with you. If you wouldn't have mentioned the colourbleeding, I'd not have noticed of course. You can only tell if you know the original colours, so I just see a nice sweater :) What a marvellous idea, to use that sock pattern for sleeves ! It will make such a fun sweater/cardigan 🤩 ! I might want to keep that idea in mind.. You Susan Sommer cardigan looks lovely. And as it is striped anyway, the grafting isn't really noticable. I love your plans for the coming year. As for finishing garments; I've always thought about it as 'practice makes perfect' ... but of course one knits more than one finishes... What a lovely and generous giveaway ! ( no yarn for me though )
Thank you so much, I've gotten some great suggestions from comments for bulky yarn. I don't think I've ever seen this one, but it looks like it'd be really comfy and cozy 🙂
Happy New year! You've got great knitting plans Mandy. I'm pretty New to color work and really really not good at it. If you have any tips on color work let us know.
Happy new year, Mandy! I don't think the color bleed is very noticeable on your sweater and it's otherwise so beautiful that I'd wear it too! What video games are you playing with your daughter? I got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and am obsessed with Zelda: Link's Awakening. I played the original Zelda when it came out in the '90s and love it!
Happy New Year!! I hope you and your family have an amazing year! My daughter has dragged out the Wii U.. which came before the Switch, but she's been loving it. They have this game called Wii U Party where you kind of just swing around the controllers while playing mini games. It's pretty amusing 😂. For me, I have the switch and I very often love playing Pokemon Puzzle League.. which is an old N64 game that they put on the Nintendo Store for download. We have the new Zelda, but it's been too busy lately for my husband and I to play it. Hopefully we'll get to it soon 🙂 (He plays while I get to knit and watch! It's an awesome deal 😅)
Happy New Year!

Thank you for another great podcast.

Love the emotional support chicken in the background, those colors are great
I would definitely still wear that sweater as it’s still a wearable item. The Christmas yarn would be perfect for Christmas in July!
Ooh love the bag! I love your Easter or West and who cares if it bleeds, just makes it extra unique.
Happy New Year! I'm catching up a bit late 😏

Happy New Year! I'm glad to see Susanne Sommer pop up again - she's from my home country Austria... All the best to you and your loved ones 🖤
Happy New Year! Susanne Sommer has a bunch of gorgeous patterns 🙂. I wish you and your family a wonderful New Year!

Happy New Year! I think this is going to be the year of the sock for me. I’m still looking for the perfect sweater pattern to make myself a sweater.
Happy New Year! I'm sure you'll find the perfect sweater pattern! There are some great ones out there 🙂

I agree with you about practice makes perfect. Luckily, I have about 200 granny squares that I can practice seaming on 😅

Happy New Year !!! Take a look at Getting Warmer by Espace Tricot. It is knit in bulky on US #10. I knit it in the past and love it.
Thank you so much, I've gotten some great suggestions from comments for bulky yarn. I don't think I've ever seen this one, but it looks like it'd be really comfy and cozy 🙂

I will, hopefully I'll pick up some good ideas this year.. Especially when managing floats 🙂. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
