I really enjoyed this video!! I love to see the miniature Green River area. I mean the whole area is exactly the real scenery and everything! Remember, I live in Rock Springs and that is the town East of Green River. Thanks for sharing! 😌
Thank you so much for your comment, my friend. I love to hear from people who live in the area I am modeling. People like you have helped me "capture the feel" of the area more than you can imagine. ...Roy
The video of running coal trains on your layout Roy is very helpful for all model railroaders when operating trains in each direction on a double track line. My permanent layout will be double track so I’ll be operating trains in each direction.
Thanks, Christopher. I designed my layout with a double-track mainline to be able to run trains in opposite directions from the very beginning, just like the prototype I'm modeling. Running trains is a pleasant diversion from "working on the layout." ...Roy
Coal trains are my favorite trains , i can only imagine how heavy the loaded coal trains are as a unit train . Keep up your awesome videos thumbs up from me 👍
i can only imagine these loaded coal trains as they pass through the towns and had an emergency as they are going about 50 mph i can just imagine the engineer of what he would be thinking ,
Awesome video roy! I love how you maximized your layout space with your track plan. Now I see how the continuous loop works. Loved the coal drags! Take care!
You put together some good looking coal trains . I like how you do the crew trains . Didn't know the Powder River so much coal came from this area . Thanks for sharing Roy .
Hi Roy, I was wondering if you or any of your viewers can help me with a puzzle. I bought an Atlas HO switcher last year. Right out of the box it made buzzing and grinding noises. It's been sent to the Atlas repair dept. twice. Their rep I spoke with said he could not hear any noises; and the model is past warranty. My question is: do you, or any of your viewers, know of an independent repair business that could work on the model for me, preferably some place that is knowledgeable and reputable. Thanks Roy, and fellow modelers, for your suggestions.
@@kraigsickels3918 An Update: Hello Mr. Sickles, About ten months ago, you kindly recommended to me Yankee Dabbler as a source for model locomotive repair. Yankee Dabbler was able to look at my Atlas HO switcher, and give me an honest, and I think accurate, diagnosis on the switcher. YD said that the motor in the model was making loud noises because it was "mass produced", "not precision made" which I translate as cheap and poorly engineered. I had thought that Atlas was one of the premier model makers in the business, but they seem to have lost their way. Naturally I was disappointed, but very happy to hear the honest truth, at last. I had asked the rep for YD if he could at least hear the noise the motor was making. He assured me that he could. The repair people at Atlas said they could hear nothing. I will NEVER buy anything made by Atlas again. Thank you for getting me to the honest and capable folks at Yankee Dabbler. All best wishes to you and yours.
I’m not sure if you actually know this but UP coal trains don’t run in Oregon. I live in Oregon on the Brooklyn Sub and have railfaned the Portland Sub and they never run coal trains. BNSF on the other hand run quite a bit of coal trains.
Roy, did 4839 and 4877 switch direction while hauling your coal train? When they started out, No.39 was on the front, but when they come to change crews, No.77 has taken point!
Love the layout Roy
Thanks, Tim. I appreciate that. ...Roy
