Here we are, end of the line (for now) and what a trip this show has been. I dunno about you guys but Netflix or whoever runs things needs to SWING THAT SEASON 2 PRONTO! Don't know and don't care how long it took to make this, I'ma be real unreasonable and demand it now after that ending lol. Here's the first reaction to season 1 episode 9 (1x9) of Arcane League Of Legends "The Monster You Created" The season 1 finale. Please enjoy yall.

SHEEESH THEY REALLY HOE'D ME WITH THAT ENDING. I'm gonna need that ETA on season 2 yall but damn what's next? I've gotten a few reaction requests to fulfill before we finalize what the next show joining the line up is, so throw some ideas my way down below. We might do a stream going over them and talking about the future of Arcane or something 👌
I reccomend Mob psycho 100, only got 2 seasons, AMAZING animation and really fun. Great characters and plot too ^^
Overall its quite light hearted which could be a good contrast to Aot aswell ^^
I'll state these again: Castlevania is the second greatest game adaptation after Arcane, Overlord as it'll be returning later this year though it has slight issues with some cgi(within a couple episodes) the story is great though, and Black Lagoon because I rarely see anyone react to it. Also Invincible season 2 is upcoming, so it'll be live while you react to it(higher viewer count) and most obvious suggestions: Demon Slayer continuation/Jujutsu Kaisen
Rumour is we have to wait until 2023.
Castlevania is one the greatest game adaptations too!
The more the ending sits with you, the more it actually feels complete. You knew war between Piltover and Zaun was coming, this shows the spark that'll actually start it. And if you thought peace was possible, that was answered (with a resounding 'no'). We wonder if Powder can be 'saved', nope, this finalizes her transition into Jinx. If they moved on with the story after the bomb hits, it would only reduce the heavy hit of Jinx's final transformation. This ending was about Jinx, with just a "next season on Arcane... War" teaser.

It’s honestly amazing that these writers managed to make Silco’s death as (if not more) emotional as Vander. If someone had told me at episode 3 that Silco’s death would get me teary eyed I wouldn’t have believed them.
When we are first introduced to Silco I felt he was such a stereotype; that evil semi-english accent, well dressed, one eye, an unexplained senseless villain. By episode 3 he began unfolding into one of the most complex villains I've seen in any series or movie. Totally agree, I expected he'd die in some Disney-level climactic battle as he yells "noooooo!" while some evil contraption he's contrived collapses around him, and everyone cheers at the end. Nope, instead my heart gets ripped out and I was left in shock after.
It still gets me how some reactors were happy when Silco died. They would treat that moment like it was the best things Jinx could have done. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here with a pit in my stomach because I can feel that something has gone horribly wrong.
@@3dCraddock Yeah, he was such a cliche baddie at first that it caught me completely off guard when they started showing his more human side, and he ended up being one of my favorites. I mean, he's still a piece of shit, but he doesn't feel like a cartoon villain, everything he does makes sense.
And the fact that they made it so that Jinx killed him, meaning she is going through the trauma of having killed her family _a second time_ . Unbelievably good writing and the parrallels are just... *chefs kiss*

I'm really glad you liked Sevika. Not sure why, but she really stood out on the second watch.
Thematically, she is a mirror to Vi, if she'd been raised with Silco's morals instead of Vander's, just like Ekko is Powder, if Powder had been rasied by Vander rather than Silco.
I'd like to see more of her.
Ngl I kinda want Sevika and Vi to have a third fight again in season 2, another rematch, but for Sevika to be put in a situation where we’d root for Sevika instead of Vi, and maybe Vi is doing something a little “not okay.”

30:07 I don't think the problem is that Jinx isn't who she was, anymore. The problem is that the idyllic childhood Vi remembers never existed for Jinx. For Powder, picturing Mylo is no fun now - he's the voice in her head that tells her she's failing, useless, worthless, every moment of every day. But that's also WHO HE WAS THEN. Claggor didn't hate on her, really, but he was exasperated and disappointed in her... it's in the first episode when Powder hesitates at the roof jump. Mylo mouthing off, and Claggor, rather than offering any real support, sighs deeply and gives a grudging "I'll get her..." Not exactly super supportive and comforting, either. He seems mostly content to ignore her, from a distance. For Vi, they were glorious, fun times with her little brothers and little sister. For Jinx, they were the times she suffered through the disparaging meanness of her brothers to stick by the only person in the world that she felt safe with; her older sister. The same older sister who walked out on her after smacking her in the face so hard her nose bled. Picturing Vander? Vander had heaps of time for Vi, that much is clear, but he interacted with Powder pretty much ONCE, trying to offer her a drink and failing to really reach her at all. He was stern and clearly protective, but not a safe, nurturing person for her, either. Mom and dad? When they died, Powder would have been what, five or six, if that? What are the odds of her having any distinct memories of them at all, unlike Vi who must have been at least 8-10 and probably knew to some extent who they were.
Everything Vi tries to remind Jinx of about their childhood is either too distant, or distinctly traumatic. And to top it all off, Vi misunderstands Jinx' relationship with Silco. She keeps saying "You'll never have to see him again" and I'm like... that's the most consistent and supportive father figure she's ever had, and your promises to never have to see him again constitutes a THREAT to her.
And to top it off... Jinx doesn't ask Vi to kill Caitlyn for her. She says "Make her go away. Please?" Remember in episode 8 when Vi tells the story about the game about creating bigger and scarier monsters, then having to chase away her own monsters when they get too scary? Thats what Jinx sees in Caitlyn. She's the monster Vi created, the scariest one of them all, and the game isn't fun anymore and she wants her big sister to make the monster go away now.
The problem isn't the "choice" between Vi and Silco, the problem is that every step of the way, Vi shows that she has absolutely NO understanding of who her sister is now, not much understanding of who she ever was... and that's why she lost her at this crucial moment.
She thought Silco had betrayed her and lied to her so leaving Silco probably didn't sound that bad in that moment.
Good point about them having different childhoods (Although I think you're exaggerating, only Milo was really mean to her, and based on the music video she had a pretty good time, especially with Vi and Ecco... well as good a time as an orphan with self esteem issues can have), but I think the main issue here was that all of those people were dead, some killed by Powder herself so they were linked to intense feelings of guilt or abandonment for her.
But also what can you expect from Vi, this is only like the second or third time she's talking to Jinx. She doesn't know her or how to approach her correctly.
The problem is that jinx is stuck in a very complicated paradox and neither vi or silco is going to help her get out of it and in her mind she has to kill vi or silco to be free. I agree that vi didn’t have a good understanding of who she is now but saying the sole problem of this conflict is vi is kinda missing the point, so it is also important to point out silco’s part in the problem because saying he is a glorified parent is really annoying me right now
@@mlinxl9090 Lol, I agree on the last part. Just because he accepted her as Jinx doesn't mean he was a great parent. He enabled her erratic behaviour, taught her to kill intentionally, pushed the narrative that Vi abandoned her and his own issues onto her, which couldn't have been healthy. And really, his love for Powder wasn't tested like Vi's love for Jinx was. Who's to say how accepting he'd be if she decided to embrace her inner Powder and wasn't as tied to him or their criminal lifestyle anymore.
30:05 Vi kept trying to remind Jinx of her past, without realizing that that past was extremely painful to her. Look at how her memories are represented in her hallucinations. Vi's flaw was not accepting that she changed.
Preach!!! Vi failed to truly see and understand Jinx.
In fairness, she was in only knew about her sister for like a day before all this happened.
The tragedy to Arcane is Vi is fighting an impossible battle because of the circumstances.

I never played LOL, but I did know which 8 in the show were game champions, and this show did give them plot armor. Especially after Jinx and Ekko both survived the end of episode 7. By this point, I knew Cait was safe, so that scene didn't worry me. If it was Mel, I'd have been very worried.

@@beyondviolet The producers have already said it's alternative universe'ish (they referenced Marvel Cinematic Universe vs. Marvel Comics). So I'm not suggesting a hard link to game canon. But the show still seems to grant the game Champions plot armor. Until and unless they break that (which will shock me the first time), I see the Champion's lives as safe. It's the same expectation I have for the start of season 2. I'd wager heavily that Jayce and Viktor survive the blast (potentially very injured, but survive), whereas the rest are at risk to die as plot fodder.
@@demise0 They probably don't want to kill champions before they arch is complete. They probably can kill Jinx (I doubt it) in season 2, bcs her arch ended, but they won't kill Viktor, Caitlynn or Ekko.
I love the fact that after Sevika swings her sword, Silco is breathing heavily. He was _not at all_ sure who she was gonna end at that moment.

I agree, Silco was my favorite character. I wasn't necessarily rooting for him at any point, but I respected him and what he was striving for, and his character development was a masterpiece. He went from generic bad guy at the beginning to respected leader and father figure at the end. Just amazing!
No you were on point about Vi losing her with the "think about who you were" talk, I dont think she meant to shoot Silco exactly either, he just picked up the gun. And Ive seen people say Silco was trying to get Vi to shut up bc he knew how much what she was saying was hurting Jinx.
If you play back that scene. You can even see Jinx's gun smoking and a hole in the chair next to Vi's head. So he missed(remember he has trouble injecting his eye, so he doesn't have steady hands anymore)
@@jonathanjohnson6727 Yeah, Silco shot Vi, but missed (there's even a couple frames of the bullet hitting Vi's chair and Vi dodging). Then Jinx just 'reacted' without thinking and shot Silco. Once her brain realized what she did, it was instant regret and sorrow. Once more her mistake killed her family. She was Jinx.
Yeah, Vi’s biggest issues with how she deals with Jinx is that it never occurs to her that Silco might actually have been good for Jinx, that she may actually like parts of who she is now or that the things Vi remembers positively are the exact things that trigger Jinx

@@Evija3000 yep, and clearly Silco worked for years to help Jinx get over her trauma (not very successfully mind you), and right there Vi was undoing years of progress. Even though in the long term it might've been better for Jinx to confront it, obviously Silco doesn't want to see her so hurt.

She is cosmically ordained to fuck up everything she touches.

the flash of caitlyn over “but you changed too” always gets me. younger vi would have never even worked with an enforcer, let alone love one so much that she cannot choose between her and powder

Both had to offer up their daughter for peace, both of them got killed by her.
I loved that we got to see Sevika working on, fixing and upgrading her arm throughout the show. Vi I awesome with the gauntlets, but Sevika built that arm herself, it's all her. I loved how the framed her on the couch, with the empty desk.
Loyalty
Vi didn't realize it, but her bringing back the people from Jinx's past and telling her to "remember who she is" was doing more harm than good. Who Jinx "was" was a child, one whose insecurities led to mistakes which killed her family. Why would she want to think back to when she was that young, powerless screwup? And those people, mainly Mylo and Claggor, have existed in her head for years as the voices of her doubts and fears. Much like they did when they were alive. Returning to her past is painful, but that's the Powder that Vi wants back. And at the same time, Jinx wanted the Vi that used to tell her that what made her different made her strong. Now, what makes her different makes her dangerous, and that's much more difficult for a grown, jaded Vi to be proud of.
Anyway, I love the character writing in this show.
Regarding the golden glow on Mel's armor: It's possible that it's just light reflecting.
However, there is a decent theory that she uses Zhonia's hourglass. It's a golden hourglass that, in League, makes you invincible for a few seconds.
To be important the missile needs to kill at least some people, and Mel is closest, so she should definitely die, unless something magical happens. Furthermore, her character arc isn't really finished, so I doubt they would kill her off just yet. Her armor even makes a similar sound to Zhonia's. Definitely possible, would be supercool

31:00 Bruh I know what you mean. I didn't want any of the four there dying either. I love Jinx and I like Vi's relationship with her. Caitlyn is the goodest character in the entire show and Silco is literally my favourite character. But ye, Silco dying made the most sense. The parallels. Also, his character arc was concluded at Vander's statue.
He just hung around to give his daughter a helping hand in her own character arc.

Jinx saw Cait naked before Vi did
In a way, that standoff between Vi and Jayce feels like a callback to the first episode, when she asks the dude, “do you wanna know how that ends?” after he pulls a knife. She kinda delivers that same message (nonverbally) to Jayce when he tries to get the gloves back from her.
You deserve a greater following. You're tight on the details and you empathize with the characters so much. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you watch this. Your love for all the characters is great. I'll be there for a stream you host.
Right. Initially it seemed like he's talking over a lot, but he actually follows everything better than most people.
I cry every time I watch Silco's death. He gave Jinx unconditional love. And in re watching the series, you see Silco was the only positive reinforcement Jinx ever had. Sadly, Vi didn't understand. Vi was close to all the others when they were kids. But the others always bullied Powder...so Vi telling her to remember them, only gave her more trauma. The brothers were never Powder's friends, only Vi's. The only person who payed attention to Jinx was Silco, defended her mistakes, talked back against everyone who called her a problem, and was always soft toward her. Even when dying...he tried to smile for her at the end. While Vi slapped her and left her.... I'm sorry but...Silco was the better figure and loved one in her life. RIP Silco. (BTW Jinx shot on instinct. She heard a gun safety clicking and just fired in the direction to protect herself. Not knowing the gun wasn't aimed at her. Not knowing she was shooting her own father. Until it was too late.)
About the shield in the fight between sevika and Vi at the end:
The Gloves where originally meant for mining. The shield is probably an original feature meant to protect the miners in case of a cave-in.
But it is also an important moment for Vi. Time and time again we here that her Guard needs work. She blocks with her face. This time, she actually uses her glove and her arm as protection instead. _That_ is when it goes right for her.
“I don’t think I’ve ever looked at her back” honestly surprised, considering how you like looking at her, man xD

Powder was still in there, all these years later... And she had one last push left in her. When Silco aimed the gun at Vi, Powder made that last push - defending her sister and killing Silco.
Powder died for good there. And Jinx, FULLY Jinx, rose from the ashes.
Powder's last act was to kill Silco. Jinx's first act was to exact his revenge.

Jinx shot on instinct. She heard a gun safety clicking and just fired in the direction to protect herself. Not knowing the gun wasn't aimed at her. Not knowing she was shooting her own father. Until it was too late. (Sorry to disappoint but Powder was long gone. The only one looking for Powder was Vi. Ekko, Caitlin, and Silco were right. Ekko tried to save her years before, the scene was cut and hopefully in next season instead, which is why she called him the "boy savior". Silco knew within a day Vi would realize she was wrong, just like Cait kept saying Jinx was too far gone.)
The best way I’ve seen this put is that Powder killed Silco to protect her sister, Jinx killed Powder to avenge her father
@@riatanina On the bridge Ekko clearly saw Powder in Jinx. That's exactly why Jinx decided to commit suicide.
Mel always had those golden tattoos. The way they shined at the end of the series suggests they could be a way (canon item) for her to survive the rocket impact.

incredible show, incredible writing, incredible voice acting, incredible music, just all the things.
Dont be mad. This was the perfect ending and a closed the story from arcane perfectly.
The whole show is not about Piltover and Zaun. Its not about Vi and Jinx. Its about making choices.
Every character is build up to make a choice which went terrible wrong and cant be undone.
Till the last episode Jinx didnt have this arc. And the whole episode is about her to make the choice.
She finshed the waepon but wasnt sure if she wants to use it. She brought everyone to this tea party even the waepon.
In the end she choose to fire it at the council. A terrible choice which cant be undone.
This is not a cliffhanger.
I am glad they did Silco so well, because he has passed and is unlikely to be back, except maybe in flashbacks.

In canon Jinx talks to Fishbones, the rocket launcher modeled after Silco's favorite animal, and it is a mature fatherly figure to her. So most likely, she will talk to Silco through the hextech weapon she made for him. lol So Mylo is her negative and Silco is her positive reinforcement voices in her head now. Honestly wouldn't mind that...would be great to hear more voice lines from Silco's VA through the gun.
31:37 I don't think Jinx made "the wrong choice" here. I think she didn't make a conscious choice at all. She was so on edge that she just reacted to whatever intruded into her attempts at putting herself back together in that extremely tense situation. It BECAME a choice, of sorts, but that was never what she did. It's tragic. Silco wasn't trying to kill Vi to stop her from taking Jinx away from him. He was trying to make her shut up so she wouldn't HURT Jinx anymore. Sure, he'd have killed her to do so, at least I think so. He did shoot, but he didn't hit Vi. Some might say he intentionally missed, but I don't think so. I simply think he's not a good shot and in that stressed, hectic situation, overwrought with emotion that someone was hurting his daughter, he fired and missed. But him picking up the gun and shooting intruded on Jinx' needed time to sort herself out, even though at least he DID make Vi shut up.... so Jinx reacted to the intrusion, not to kill anyone really, but to make things calm again so she could finish thinking. Then when she came down from it - her father had once again died at her hands.

You will understand that the end is perfect. Just give it some time. It was about the making of jinx and that story got told with a perfect ending. Now we just need to hope that season 2 can hold the level of quality. 😊

Now that you've seen the whole show, there's some super insane details people have highlighted that you should check out. Specifically there's stuff between Cait and Vi that happens in like 3 frames in both this episode and on the bridge that are great little character moments, and that shit is sprinkled throughout the show.
Agree. Silco was absolutely objectively the best character in the show. I've watched the series a few times, plus watched a few reactors. It breaks me up when Vander dies, they get you to love and respect him so much. But after 10+ viewings in various ways, and I STILL get broken up the most when Silco dies. (Granted, it's Jinx's heartbreak... but it's still his death... THAT'S an S-Rank character, villain or otherwise.)
In addition to all the progression we'll see in the characters next season, don't forget that pretty much 70% of what Mel's mom said EVERY time she talked was probably setting up next season!

League of Legends as a game and the world of Runetera have many different stories going on all over the world at the same time, and even their history has an effect on things. Arcane focuses on one of the major cities and areas of the world and hints some to the others as sometimes hidden things.

I've kinda lost your channel in the depths of my algorithm but one of your videos popped up again recently and I remember why I binged through all your videos.
Your interpretations and reactions are just next level and that's what I love about your videos. It's some Alt Shift X kind of stuff. Maybe analyzing stories/ animations in your goofy, likeable, funny but also deep way is where you could head more in the future.
You are really entertaining and I would love seeing you succeed!
I've enjoyed watching your reactions, I could no doubt talk about the subtle things about this show for days, and really liked that you picked upon a lot of it.
Silco: I personally can't call him a villain, and as an antagonist I can't think of a better one in recent history off of the top of my head. If people just listen to what he's saying, why he's doing the things he's doing, he's not just some power hungry villain, he's a revolutionary, and Vander showed him that to fight those more powerful foes, as Piltover is.. you have to use everything within your means, Zaun didn't have much, but with the discovery and refinement of Shimmer, it gave them a tool to use in that revolution.
Sevika: Liked her character, as you pointed out she didn't have a ton of lines, but what she did was good, I've seen a lot giving her character grief due to 'betraying' Vander, but I don't see that she did, she told him where she stood on things to his face, she's all in on the revolution that Vander walked away from.
Vi: As you picked up on, Silco is the only one accepting Jinx for the person she is today, Vi honestly doesn't know her, given time I've no doubt that she could certainly still love her sister, but she was just simply trying to force her back into a box that there was no going back into. Calling her to remember Mylo, Claggor, Vander near the end, it's not a matter of having forgotten them, infact she's lived with those demons every day and they bring her pain, where Vi see those people as good memories. This is shown in the fight with Sevika in the bar.. it's not like that was Vander's ghost talking to her, that's her mind telling her to get back up, presenting itself as Vander... where Jinx on the other hand has similar presentation as shown by Mylo, but of course tearing her down instead of building her up. Vi is an odd character to me for a few reasons, one.. I think she very much would have joined Silco's revolution if things had gone differently, she wanted to fight, had a justified reason for hating topside herself, she was more or less a young version of Sevika, but things as they were.. didn't work out that way. My final note on Vi, I found her character to be a bit off in episode 8, not only did she give up her sister's name to the counsel(Jayce wouldn't have known to ask for her from Silco otherwise) the fact that she was willing to lead a force from topside down into the undercity, fighting side by side with Enforcers just.. seems a bit wrong for her character.

I'm with you man, at the moment, I felt like jinx should've saved silco
Jinx shot on instinct. She heard a gun safety clicking and just fired in the direction to protect herself. Not knowing the gun wasn't aimed at her. Not knowing she was shooting her own father. Until it was too late. Silco was the only positive reinforcement she had in the entire series. Even when dying, he consuls her and tries to smile....while Vi slapped and abandoned her. Vi didn't understand, the past was only positive for her, that the brothers were bullies toward Powder. Thinking of all of them again, only gave her more trauma. Jinx just lost her rock...all down hill mentally for her now. Silco > Vi cause he gave unconditional love.
I always come back for Aege's reaction to the cupcake. That just puts a smile on my face on a downer day.

This show is a masterpiece
I feel like you are the first reactor on Arcane I've watched out of all of them to recognize that Vi keeps trying to make Jinx into Powder even though she clearly isn't Powder anymore and that just alienates Jinx and makes her feel broken. Like Vi is not approaching it well. Not saying the toxic relationship she has with Silco is good, but at least he is actually supportive....just of the wrong things.
Can't help but feel if Vi called her Jinx and talked about the things that she knew Jinx had done and told her that she understood what drove her to that and that she still loved her that would have been a MUICH better way to go about it. Than "No, you are Powder...remember your life from a decade ago". Like Vi is straight up not paying attention.

Some fun facts, the "xmen beast" that you referenced might be a teaser to another lol champion for season 2. Also, season 2 was already being written when season 1 was released...that's how confident they were. The last song "What could have been" was sung by Sting. Amazing song. Finally, people headcanon that powder killed Silco to protect Vi when he picked up the gun. But Jinx shot that rocket at the council to avenge Silco.

One of the best reactions on Arcane! Me now subscribed. The Family dinner is the great dramatic ending! It make me too look forward to 2. season even more, and for me cliffhanger do not matter. The satisfying end of the season one is the Jinx deciding who she is. When she sat on that chair with Jinx name like a boss, this is it! She finally accepted who she is and her past is not tearing her personality apart, no more, scars remain, but she let go her past, exactly like Silco try to told her earlier!

Brothers and sisters joining together in absurd antics against boredom. Just a note, that rocket launcher is not only one of her prime weapons in the game, but the show creators wrote it in as Jinx's way of honoring her dad - as it is based off of the shark Silco admired in Ep.2, just before he talked Dekkard into first taking the purple cool-aid.

Season 2 is probably late 2023. On a side note, the stream is not a good ideia, because you are in a very special position of knowing nothing about the game. If you interact to much with the lol community you will get “spoilers” for Ekko, viktor and WW. It is a prequel after all.

All the memories that kept Vi sane are the same memories haunting Powder.
Vi says "remeber" clagger, mylo, vander, etc etc but these memories are the absolute tornment of powder.
In her memory these are the "demons".

Very good reaction series. I haven't checked the channel yet but I hope you get into more League stuff. I'm also down to see the playthrough of Dark Souls you added a clip from in an earlier episode. I Hope your channel keeps growing.
The good news is that filming of season 2 is well under way, the bad news is that we'll get it next year at the earliest.
I think what I like most about Arcane is the character writing, it's so good. And the best thing is, only 9 characters from the show are playable in the game (and even so, 2 of them look radically different at this point of the story, and one of those two even has a different name). It's not always who you might think, either. Mel or her mom, for example, have extravagant designs, but were made wholly for the show, while Singed, the doc that made Shimmer, is playable (and one of the oldest and most beloved characters in the game, to boot). The writing is just so tight that every character feels important when the spotlight's on them. Guessing who they might introduce next, and they've already hinted at some as early as episode 2, is one of my favorite things as someone who really likes the lore even though I don't really play the game anymore.
ETA on season two is 2023 at the very earliest, probably late 2023 as well. Season one dropped in November and I'd expect season two to as well.
The soundtrack in this show fits so well, because RIOT have their own dedicated music production department, every song was written for the show. The exceptions being the song Jinx was listening to in episode 4, that's Jinx's champion intro track for League of Legends. She was listening to her own theme song.
I was never a big fan of League of Legends but I can't lie. This was one of the best western animated shows ever made. Certainly top 5 from the last decade. And since you're done with Arcane for now, maybe check out its rival's counterpart on Netflix, DOTA: Dragon's Blood. I'm not gonna sit here and claim its as good as Arcane, but its animated by the people who did Legend of Korra and it has some great characters and worldbuilding as well.
the ending isnt really a complete cliffhanger as this one guy on youtube explained how ending after the explosion would change the effect of the ending as it would go from how jinx struck the final blow (or something along those lines) instead of the consequences of her actions. Still pisses me off but if you think of it that way, it does make the story feel more complete. Like if we found out who did and who didnt survive, then it wouldnt feel like the end of the story since that would mean jinx didnt complete what she wanted to do. I dont know if that makes sense but i mean...
I was pretty much like you at the end, the first time I watched the series. Pissed off. Thinking that cliffhanger went too far. Then I let a few days pass to let it sink, I thought it through, and... I was wrong. This ending is brilliant.

Two points.
First off, I recommend not looking into the League of Legends champions, because there are lowkey spoilers for some of the characters that I think are going to get addressed in Season 2. That one's on you though, the spoilery stuff I'm referring too isn't too crazy.
Second, as someone that has played League of Legends since the early days and was active when Vi and Jinx came out as champions, this ending was perfect. In game, Jinx has always been this Harley Quinn happy-go-lucky type character with almost no backstory. So when this show started airing and we got to see her as Powder, for me and probably a lot of other League players, she really was the main character and this story should be all about her. The other characters are also incredibly important and do a lot to build out this world, but at the end of the day, this season would be about how this little girl turned into the character of Jinx that we've known for years. Having the last moments of this show be about the true turning point for her and her decision to shoot a rocket at the council that's about to vote for peace (very fitting to her name) instead of focusing on anything else was incredibly satisfying for me, since it puts a punctuation on (what I thought was) the main story arc of this season. Everything else will have its own time to come around in Season 2.
The peace was never going to happen as negotiated, because Silco was never going to give up Jinx.

About Mel noticing the rocket before it hit the council-
I think she probably just noticed the rocket’s initial blast when Jinx first fired it from across the bay; which someone could realistically and possibly notice the light coming from the initial firing in RL before eventually seeing the actual explosion later on.
I’m pretty certain that both Mel and Caitlyn’s mom will probably die, just with the way they cut and put the shots together during the flight of the rocket (Caitlyn- her screaming while seeing the explosion with Vi then cutting directly to her mom at the council’s chamber and Mel’s mom seeing the destroyed painting). I think they’re kill off Mel to be a driving force in the war to come, as that would probably cause both Jayce and her mom to become enraged and want retaliation for said attack. Jayce might be a maybe on retaliation though, given his recent strive for peace, it just matters how much Mel’s death upsets him and what he wants to do after.
Victor and Jayce are probably safe though, the biggest reason for that being that they’re both the only champions from the actual game and no one else in the room was (to the best of my knowledge). I believe Victor might be saved by the recent hextech and shimmer augmentations he preformed on himself, so he’ll probably survive the blast due to the shimmer’s ability to protect the user from heavy damage (why Deckard and the other users were able to take and survive so much damage while fighting.)
