I’ve been watching some of your ship reviews and I’m watching the one on the Redeemer, I don’t think you understand the concept of multi ships, there’s been several ships, especially the bigger ones where it’s always you can’t remote control these turrets again I don’t think you understand the concept of multi ships and they’re designed to have multiple people on them and they’re not designed to be flown by one person what part of that concept you.
@@leeproffitt69 totally understandable but they’ve always had the idea that even on this multi-crew ships you could get AI crew members or blades to control certain aspects. It’s not always needing a fully human crew.
The redeemer is so pleasing to the eyes it reminds me of something Batman would fly in. People solo this ship for the HP of it. And is effective against AI opponents just fine
BuzzCutPsycho made a good observation: The Corsair has more firepower when flown both solo as well as fully crewed, is faster, more maneuverable, and carries way more cargo, ... for a cheaper price. Yikes !
TFW you are a dedicated flak boat in a game the devs never got around to adding flak to 😔 The Redeemer is the clearest example of why multicrew will never be viable on the model of one person per turret. It absolutely must have all of its turrets converted to remote, and each gunnery station needs to be able to control any two turrets via a Freelancer 2003 style turret mode. (The gunner’s view can be projected on the player’s visor via the same tech the Talon uses for its cockpit, or what ever in universe explanation they need). Ofc, the Redeemer also needs more dps. All of its turrets need either more guns or to go up a size (4x S5, or 2x S6). If you think that sounds like too much, don’t forget 4x S5 is just… one Corsair lol. To justify getting out of a Corsair and into these turrets you have to at least match the dps. If we don’t start balancing multicrew around the actual human experience of being crew (aka: justify getting out of your personal F8C or Corsair and getting into your buddy’s Redeemer) then we will literally never see the ships be viable. Balancing ships this way will finally make multicrew viable, instead of people spending a thousand bucks to be alone in their Idris, we should actually incentivize people to get onto the thing.
and half the shields and cant do sht when it gets parts are shot off. redeemer has all the shields and all the hp. if you get shot you just dont care. i fly the redeemer with 2 friends and it slaps.
More firepower on paper maybe, but the big guns are all pilot controlled on what is still a fairly an unagile ship. A crewed redeemer is blasting at all angles.
i would counter with, the redeemer is more compact meaning more firepower in a smaller area for carriers and fleets. its more of a helicopter for ground missions and area denial and likely is better made for hovering around poi on the ground. missiles are most likely to kill ground targets or scare off fighters in the airspace while it does its job. one of the main debates i have had with people when it comes to cost value, many say that bigger ships should cost more money so why would you buy a small ship. My answer is simple, i can fit 4x those small ships in the same area on a carrier. i am paying for the flexibility and convenience.
I cannot believe they don’t let us slave the turrets to the pilot seat when they aren’t manned. Seriously, it’s not a technical limitation, and it’s not like these turrets can’t aim anywhere the fixed forward guns can.
your idea for the swapping the beds and jumpseats was actually how the ship was originally designed by the fans who won the design contest. CIG made the strange swap with the logic that using the escape pods would destroy the ship otherwise but like.... wouldn't that just be a bonus? also it is bizarre rationale considering the RAFT launched at the same time and has the same bed-escape-pod design on the inside but the outside is covered in structural-looking elements
The Redeemer is modular, so the jump seat locations make sense if you're planning to release some kind of crane module that can drop a small vehicle...
I quit flying the Redeemer when small missiles were killing the occupants; but leaving the ship intact - circa 3.22. I hope one day a fully crewed Redeemer will be much more formidable than a solo Corsair.
I daydream we could have a ship similar to the Redeemer that was more agile and swift; like Airwolf lol. I watched old stock footage used in the Airwolf TV show and this is what I'd want from a ship like the Redeemer lol.
I think there is a role for thus ship in its current iteration. The hints are there. It is an escort gunship for armadas. The intention isn't to hunt things down with the redeemer, its meant to have staying power. In a large armada type fight, the target (for the enemies) would be the carriers & destroyers... thus leaving the redeemer to do its thing. Personally, I've been soloing this ship for 3 days. It has been fantastic. I do bounties on it & fight off cutties all the time. I also make quick work of reclaimers.. or whatever comes my way. I multicrewed it with 2 other people and my goodness we were slappin. Switched all guns to attritions though so we don't have to worry about ammo. I agree with your assessment of bed placement and the useless jump seats. We could have had the hab upstairs & 5x the cargo. I'd also prefer one other entrance - but hey.. for now, im enjoying it as my pledge.
can’t wait for the update to this review. i hope they make the manned turrets remote since they’re only rocking s4 guns now, would keep the crew safer and look much nicer. get rid of that rear turret, upsize the front remote to s4 guns, make it pilot only and make the other two remote and this thing would be perfect. oh and add doors to the cockpit fr. needs to be separate from the rest of the ship. and honestly i’d rather them swap the floors around and just get rid of the escape pods. we don’t need them imo. they’re useless if i have to go down a ladder to get there anyways. make the seats all eject or something and call it a day. they could add a seam across the top of the cockpit and just eject the whole thing in pieces.
I was actually gifted this ship after people in global chat were giving me a hard time for having 'Redeemer' as part of my character name and not having ever flown this ship prior. I LOVE this ship, I typically play with 1-2 other players, and when we are not salvaging we are typically in the Redeemer doing combat missions, or we were, prior to master modes. Does the Redeemer still have the issue that if you leave the pantry door open on the bottom deck, that the contents will fall out, bounce around and destroy the ship? I remember that used to be a problem lol.
The ground team has to climb down the ladder one by one after landing... 4 turrets + 1 pilot for 4 bunks Whereever the target is, 2 gunners have nothing to do. How many turrets are too many? Cool but so unpractical.
Its been riddled with issues in recent patches. Guns being blown off with shields up, nose extra weak, falling through the floor, exploding if people touch anything in the fridge, etc. Still keep it hoping itll get its pass someday haha
that slaved remote turret is dumb , i always felt they should redesign that seat for a dedicated radar and maybe missile operators station since no-one is manning it to take pilot dps away , plus shes just not heavy enough for the sluggish flight , a mole is heavier and more manouverable! she was fine as she was, the cost for that power was always needing multiple crew to be viable , now its right back to the one person one ship mindset. Hopefully she'll see some love again
been awhile since i have been in the redeemer but i think it was 3 or 4 crew for minimum use. say 3 for main guns. puts it on par with the cutlass black with more hp and simular missile payloads with more seats for carrying passengers. 4 beds 4 jumpseats and all the extra gun seats up front. special ops
@@EvenLease44 I would call it hate. It got massive cuts in protection and firepower in exchange for returning it to a level of mobility similar to a freelancer.
i dont fully get the takeout lunchbox part but it looks like a helicopter with engines instead of propellers. its very simular to boss fight helicopters you see in many games. people say the engines are dumb and yeah sort of but there isnt many other engines that would look much better. it would also make sense the engines are unique since there are not many ships i would consider helicopters in the game.
Imo it'd make more sense if the redeemer was much more manueverable in atmosphere compered to other ships that are basically just bricks with engines. Meanwhile other ships may be more manueverable comparably in space creating an environmental balance.
This is the largest injustice conducted by CIG to date. There is someone on the CIG development team who does not like this ship and is deliberately crippling it despite is costing $100 more than similar ships (Constellation, Corsair). This ship is in the game to rip players off.

What they have done to this ship in the last few years is an insult. with this IAE being the complete kick in the balls to Redeemer owners who have had this ship in their hangers since 2015!
I hear you on this ship and many ships are being adjusted right now as they search for balance and that’s fine by me. Personally, I like the direction they are going. Solo’ing big powerful ships with lots of pilot DPS had to change at some point and nerfing manoeuvrability makes sense. Solo’ing this ship isn’t very good and I’m glad about that. If you want to solo a ship, get a smaller ship. I’d hope to see that once ships like these are fully crewed they become WAY more powerful and punch above their weight.
