NO, you will go bankrupt. Thank you, QB for keeping it honest. Even at your skill level and having a near perfect game, made you some credits. Now for the average player, it is terrible. Just another scheme by wargaming to sell more premiums that you must play in order to support tier 10 play.
That'd be a net positive to the playerbase, which means making less money for WG, so it's not happening
That is their plan, why they implemented tier 8 "money making" premiums. You lose credits in tier 10, then play lower tier to grind credits, want to make more credits, buy a tier 8 premium to afford your tier 10s.🎉😮😅

I did a new damage record in a Grille 15, 6025 damage or something like that. No kills, no premium account, no credit boosters, I fired 8 AP shells and penned all 8. I made something like 6076 credits, barely more credits than the damage I did. In a usual game I lose credits... It's tier 10 economy. WG wants you to play tier 10 but to pay for boosters and premium time and premium tanks to make credits so you can play your tier 10s and spam gold.

In a lot of tanks, you'll lose credits. Some tanks like the Kranvagn is profitable, but without food... Lmao

u need prem account and no gold no prem consumbles.just regular shells and small kits and do like 2k pier battle and no matter what win or lose you wont lose credits
F2P players have to grind hard to unlock their first tier 8 premium from the bond store and then grind hard with that free premium. Some of those free premiums are decent, but they're still punching bags for paying players in their Borats and BZ-176s. It's much easier to just open your wallet when the Borat goes on sale and at least you're on a level playing field. The game is not F2P friendly unless you're happy at tier 6.

i would not say tier 10 is in a good spot it's far too expensive for people to play it on a constant base, 14k credits for baseicly a insane game no for any normal game for the base line tanker they would lose a fair bit of credits and if you are unlucky even more. i know this is a hot topic but tier 10 needs to be looked at
Don’t play tier 10 you’re not supposed to make profit there. The problem is you’re playing against sweat lords with no life who pay to ruin your experience

@@scoutboy776go touch grass, if your making a profit in tier 10 consistently you haven't seen day light in a long time, I know some with an almost 60 percent win rate and they still lose credits, tier 10 has been a problem for a very long time and isn't about being good

@@chez6459 dont use premium ammo, that make your credit goes to minus. With the repair and resupply your ammo cost so much.

I have seen lots of fv4005's going to the heavy lane, landing one shot and then dying. I guess the 1750 damage they do is enough for them to have every game.....

that is why i try to play it smart when i use it. lots of Damage per shot doesnt matter much if you die after hitting one single shot. and even then, you are not guaranteed to pen either, meaning that the risk is not worth the reward if you play it like a shotgun.
i play it as a strategic Peekaboo tank and sometimes snipe as well. it is stupid how good one can do with this thing if one plays smart.
This is one of the largest drawbacks of this game for me. The sense of losing... Even when you win. At tier 10, there is no gameplay. You are not playing towards anything.
It would be way more fun and useful if losing credits at Tier 10 was almost impossible.
For example: At Tier 10, multiply credit punishments by 0.2 and multiply credit gains by 0.6
Normal calculations: 100.000 credits gained from damage dealt etc, 100.000 credits lost due to repairs etc -> 0 credits gained
New calculations: 60.000 credits gained from damage dealt etc, 20.000 credits lost due to repairs etc -> 40.000 credits gained
You make way less credits, but you also get punished way less for taking damage etc. This way the premium tanks can stay how they are and make you tons of profit at Tier 10. Now the players are happy because they make more profit and Wargaming is happy because they can sell many Tier 10 premium tanks to people who want to make big profits.
It's how war gaming designed the game. Tier 10 is supposed to be the end game where you pay. That's why I don't play above tier 8.
Game was designed to progress to get a better upgraded tank. As you continue down a tech tree everything will increase as well as higher tier players will be better and offer more of a challenge. You don’t NEED to pay to win. Memorize the game, take the time to learn what to do and not to do.

I realised this years ago. That's why I didn't go above tier 8.
Anything up to tier 6 is fine, but that's were its crests. After that you will start to lose credits.
The thing is you spend a lot of your time playing wot, so even if you don't spend like on your play for free account, you still have bond equipment and premium tanks from marathons. Most casual players will never win a tank from marathon. I am talking about players who play one or twice a week. Maybe 10 games a week or something 😅 . In reality your playsforfree acc isn't actually free anymore
It is still free, but just not representative of a casual players account. And even for casual players its still possible to obtain free premium tanks, namely from the bond store. Sure, it will take a while to get the amount of bonds together needed, but still very possible.

Blitz has way better economy, for sure. Repairs are free, non-premium ammo is free, since recently basic consumables are also free, and you get credit boosters left and right. Definitely a more player friendly game
So apart from purchasing vehicles, for what else would you need credits then? Because like if you have reached the endgame, what stops a player loading full gold in every battle, because the credits are now useless otherwise?
@@robinkhn2547 The fact that blitz is a more well balanced game overall, and gold shells aren't even necessary a lot of the time. And they deal less damage than regular shells, so you're discouraged from using them as a replacement for regular ammo
I agree, I have some issues with blitz but I feel it's just bc it a mobile compatible game it can have some issues but I love it

You can still play it on PC tho blitz really is an amazing game you can make such easy progress as free to play and u can watch videos to get free gold and they have lots of events where they give away free tier 8 premiums and below aswell as good offers to buy gold and other tanks @joelopezjl28
Since i play F2P and very casually, i agree with you QB, it is a „skill issue“ in some way, if you are good, aim good and hit most of your shots, its fairly easy to at least get the credits back you used for your shells etc, since im favourably using the 60TP, i do have some premium shells, (20 standard, 5 premium, and 5 High Explosive shells.)
I can sometimes feel myself struggling when i come up against the reward tanks, BUT it all takes for me to be fairly successful against them by pressing the 2 key, hitting one or 2 shots and then switching back to AP.
Conclusion:
F2P in WoT requires a fair amount of skill, alongside a fair amount of credits.

F2P but I use 50/50 regular and gold, large repairs and large medkit on most high tier tanks. Had enough resouces to buy 268v5 and Lion. Still have 20mln and a lot of other resources. I am average and casual player.
I'm a free to play player because I believe that spending money on a free game is... stupid
I can barely make any money at tier 8
that's why I don't play this game unless there is a event or something interesting happening

TIER 8 - 9 - 10 is more or less break even on the 8 and quicly drops down to a loss when you go towards the tier 9 & 10 vehicles.
You can compensate playing tier 10 by playing a lot of tier 6 & 7 though, run credit boosters, participate in events etc.

Just today i talked about this with my friend. We were playing tier 10, had fun, i played tanks like IS4, IS7, OBJ.705A, S.CONQ, KRANVAGN, E4 and managed to get a 3.8k avg dmg in like 15 games. Not crazy but decent imo. I fire gold only at heavy vehicles, like E100, Mouse, Vk, type 5 Heavy, where normal shells would be useless. I use only small kits, and no prem food. I have no premium and didnt run any booster. So after the session i checked and had 350k minus on my account :)
i pretend that the game ends at tier 8 and it makes me a lot happier

Wait, I have been grinding for years to hit T10 and play in a Maus, a Leopard 1, and many other tanks. I can't ? .... The game is not for me ? So I farm for years bad tanks and end up getting smashed on every tier, just to learn when I am near the top that a pay wall is stopping me from playing further ?

Afaik tier 10 has always been designed to be unaffordable, to acx T8 premium sales, I remember books from 2014 talking about it
I'm just average at tier 6/7, so I only go up to tier 10 to challenge myself and while I'm losing credits when I do, it's less than 5% of the games I play.
When the game first came out you could earn 1million credits on a great game. How things have become so bad
No you couldn't. Don't lie. When they first released t8 premiums (lowe & kv5), a great game in either of them would net around 250k

I think the credit calculations really need to start including consumables at full price. Wargaming has started starving people with consumable sales and you almost never make it to the next sale before running out. Especially if you're free to play because you don't have oodles of credits saved up to spend when the sale happens
Nope tier 10 is just dull and boring tier 9 is much fun, tier 8 is all premium tanks no tech tree tanks on sight
(Honestly tier 8 would be more fun without those broken OP premium tanks looking at you BZ-176, Skoda T-56, Bourrasque etc ರ︵ರ)
I believe that the best tiers to play and keep a good income are tiers 6 and 7, if you dont play premium tanks and without a premium account. If we play premium tier 8 tanks even without premium account it will be possible to keep the income balance in the "green". I like to play tier 9 but you allready start losing some income, so need to be playing some lower tiers or premium tanks to get some income to pay the "fun tax"
One slight difference QB has when starting a new ftp account is: he plays a lot more than the casual player.

I just had a guy saying from start that we had lost, and it effected my entire game.
We had a Concept 5 and they had a 60 TP and there were no other tier X heavy's

What us the best "high-tier" bond tank that generates profit and is actually good? By high-tier I mean tier 8+. I was thinking about the Objekt 252U. Is that a good purchase or are there any better ones?
If you play T10 only - surely not possible to play F2P.
So i play my premiums i got for free and for bonds etc. Also i play my other fun tech tree tanks, they are all cheaper and often pay well.

The newbies sell almost all their tanks just to get tier X and just bankrupt playing it few times 😅😅😅
This is why I’m winding down my account, selling my T10s and down until all I have left is a handful of fun tanks. After selling maybe 50 tanks, I’ve been able to load up on my T6 and T7 and get 2 MOE on most. Getting the 3rd MOE will be hard and require that I sell the remaining dozen T10s and probably as many T8s. Doesn’t matter. I’m actually feeling some relief playing how I want.
Just uninstalled, I play for fun and even then less than half of games are actually fun, maps are also stale. I can understand why QB becomes a demon when he streams this game
Tier 6, 7 and yes 8, even if its painful sometimes, is what I usually play. Tier 10s, really not for me.

No. You'll go bankrupt fast. 80% of tier 10 matches are disasters. Been playing WoT since 2011. It is horrible now
I play like 2 or 3 hours grinding with my Cromwell to pay 1 hour of my tier X... Sometimes it goes well and I get a good profit even with tier X ^^
you come to NA server, you will pretty much face only gold, so your armor is irrelevant
tier 9 is the maximum if you want to earn any money as a F2P
I only load 5 shells in my T10 Chinese light tank because I will lose money otherwise.
I had a great 7k spotting 3 kill game and still lost 2k coins

T9 is definitly possible to play without a credit loss, but not for the average f2p player.
I do play T9 a lot, do not use any premium ammo at all, usually don't have premium account (unles you get a few days trough events or missions) and use crew food, yet i break even. I do however admit that with ~61.5% win rate i don't qualify as an average player anymore, so projecting my credit income onto others won't work there...

Buy tiger-maus and assassin tank and I'm a great player
According to me jg pz e100 and t110e3 is the most cheapest tier 10 tanks to play for free2play players like me... Both of them has very good penetrations on standard ammo, therefore no need to use premium ammo and secondly the armour in these tanks can forgive your mistakes...
Just use the best bond or bounty equipment on your tank. That way you would never have to use food. And you will have very good game... I did my height damage of 8k with jg pz e100.
Nah, I would say the cheapest tier X tanks to play are mediums with high standard pen like the Leo, or medium tanks in general actually, because with the playstyle of most mediums you don't really face heavy tanks from the front, and that's where you need the gold. And JgPz E100 and T110E3 are tanks which do go to the heavy flank of the map, which means it is more likely for you to need to shoot gold. And playing JgPzE100 without gold is kinda wasted potential, because it has the highest gold pen in the game.

Let me say this. I'm a free 2 play player and I was an arty player. I recently sold most of my tier 9&10 arty because they aren't fun anymore. I spent the credits buying tanks on the lines I like, like the top American TD's and some of the Objects (am I the only person that spells it?). By the time a free to play player has the resources to grind a line to tier 10...it gets nerfed before it's obtained. Especially if you suck like me. So now I have one tier 10 arty, a T110E3, and an Obj. 430U. I also have about 50 empty garage slots.
I used to play the game from 2013-2016 and got quite a few tier 8 and 9 tanks by playing mostly f2p and had a decent wn8. Anyways, just by chance I picked the game backup a month ago with a friend who is basically new to the game. And it very quickly occured to me that the new player experience is pretty terrible. My friend got some free tier 5s and tier7s to play with but since there's no skill based match making he would struggle a lot in matches and pretty much just drove around and died. Playing tier 1s is arguably worse since the queue times would be almost 10mins for 1 game due to the low amount of new players. (And tier 1 vehicals are just not enjoyable to play to begin with) needless to say we stopped playing after a week or two. WoT certainly seems far from what it was in its glory days and it has become more and more pay to win. Although it might still be somewhat enjoyable for long time players, there is just no incentive for new players to pick up the game... It is very sad considering this used to be one of my favorite games to play.
When I play tier 10 i tend to no shoot gold at all or very little when i do. Tests my knowledge of the game and helps me learn, so when i push for those marks, feels like easy mode spamming gold.

I've played around 10 years for free and nowadays I play almost exclusively tier 10. The missions give me easily enough credits to play only tier 10.
I lose an average of 30,000 credits per game at tier 10 and I get like 20,000 credits per game in tier 8 prems average. THIS IS EVEN WHEN IM ONLY TAKING LIKE 3-5 ROUNDS OF GOLD AND BASIC REPAIR KIT AND FIRST AID KIT. I fired 4 shells of gold in my AMX CDC and made 477 credits after dealing 1,800 damage 700 spotting on a defeat, because CDC gold rounds are 5k per shell which is insane. I do not have a prem account or boosters.
Most often I play tiers 5-9 even I have some t10 opened I dont buy them and I keep t9 - like Obj. 704. Since you can win or loose just becouse you go full gold or not, I dont play t10 much. Im 100% F2P, I put a money into game like 2 times, 1 I bought frined a tank for birthday 2)I spend all gold I saved by years in change for elc 90 for like 2 EU and T25 Pilot. It is about lot games at t6-7 so you can pay 20-50k per t9-10 game. Thats how it is. Best tier to play? 6,7,9. Sometimes 5,10,8. Tx QB for playing playforfree account, so you can feel how it is.
QB, just be aware of the fact that the replays site is not working correctly. I'd urge you to take an actual screenshot of the battle results, as at this time you're talking bollocks.
The amount of credits you gain on a Standard account is not the same as the one from the Premium one. The "Received" already includes the 50% extra.
So what you're actually looking at is the following:
Received: 38.302
Repair: - 20.738
Resupply: - 19.470
Consumables: - 3.000
Total: - 4.906
So while you loose every time money, that's why you need premium tanks and/or premium account in order to get to enjoy playing at tier X.
Strictly "Free to play". MAJOR COMPLAINT - profits /credits earned are drained by charges for everything. Ammunition and equipment options could be free as in real war. Transfer of talented crew or an improved tank and retraining should be free. Oh wonderous, no charge for fuel ! ! SPECIAL EQUIPMENT should be purchased having embellished performance AND MATCHED TO SIMILAR.

Max tier for +1 credit is tier 8 and rarely tier 9 but it must bee a OP tier 9 tank..
I see my friends struggling at 6-7 tier to brake even.

Thanks QB for this, and tell it to WG ! Been F2P since my start in 2012. I play T5, T6 and T7 to earn credits. Bought T6 premiums with bonds. Remember buying the hole techtree and equipment for all (1,8 mio pr. top tier) takes a lot off grinding. And Front Line..... pffffff..... playing against all the OP premium tanks with Pantera and Udes...... Yeah thats fun......
Dat one time, playing e 50 m in the past, got solid result and winning.
Not to mention 1st by exp, 3rd by damage dealt, either 2 or 4 frag.
Got profit around 21k, no wasted shot.
Next game, same tank, winning team, but so-so result, ONLY 2-3k profit.
3rd game, also same tank, better result than 2nd game but losing team.
ALL profit from previous 2 become BIG minus 😂
Not using prem account nor prem consumable and rarely use gold round.
So yeah, playing lower tier is only to support YOU playing higher tier, financially.

I'm F2P player since the beginning (more than 10 years) and I've no problem playing tier 10. I don't use premium consummables apart the automatic fire extinguisher at tier 10 but I've a big reserve of them by missions. I shot gold only when it's needed. I've some premium tanks, some bought long time ago (Super Pershing, Mutz, Centurion 5/1 and Fury) others I had for free (ShPtk, Obsidian, IS-2S, Panther M10 via CW, lots of tier 6 by drops). My favorite tier is 9 but I play tier 6 to 10. Results : I'm pretty close to have unlocked every tech tree tanks and 80M credits in reserve so I'm able to play everything I want when I want. I'm also helped by being in a clan who runs lots of boosters. Anyway, I think I loose credits one game every 5 at tier 9, 2 on 5 at tier 10. Playing tier 10 F2P is possible but it requires to have a decent level to get good games and not playing tier 10 only. If you have one or two premiums you really like is perfect to help you doing credits if you really need. It's possible but you need to know you will not be the best in tanks stats so you have to compensate by being accurate, knowing weakspots, able to anticipate situations or by your minimap reading. It's sometimes hard but so satisfaying when you are able to have great games.
Ordinary promotion from WOT tips !! (Haha 3-6-8000 Damage) you don't get 1/4th of what you see here in real game!!! These bastards have a modified mod for promotions to see they are still in the top ranks, what he shoots is a hit!! if a tank hits him.. then a rebound... I guarantee that you won't have it that way!! and it will be the opposite on mil. % and besides... don't buy premium or premium tanks!!! it's useless anyway, the server determines the damage,,..determines victory and defeat .. If you upload min Damage to the opponent, the server will automatically flip and give Victory/ if High damage to the opponent - it is automatically Defeat.. You have a tank of 8 levels and you are approximately at the bottom of the team or on the bottom team composition, stacked from level 10 = It's automatically a win because you have no chance to shoot down Level 10 that is: min. damage = victory.!!! If you are on the highest rungs in the lineup, e.g. team level 8 to level 6 , Automatically = high damage to the opponent and you automatically = Defeat!! Server. BLOCKS....visibility, enemy detections, opponent damage, you can just do whatever you want :D !! it's wasted money!! You actually have more losses than wins in the game!! Ask yourself another question.. how many times have you recorded what you see here? (it's easy to play if you're an admin with a good game mode!), and this thieving company gives replays like this every day ... they're just lying to you and fooling you it's a great game, waiting for you to adjust the game mode to the minimum so that you can put real money into it!! Also note that they offer only premium or 10 level tanks, where you have huge losses in the game even during premium, especially if you use gold-i (premium cartridges)!!! , for 1 battle minus up to 8-20,000 cash... if not more... wt.
This vehicle has 315mm of pen in APCR and it falls to 285mm@500m. Wt auf Pz IV has 352mm of pen in APCR and it falls to 295mm@500m. Seens something is quite wrong with German guns. I belive germans put parachutes on their ammunition simply because they are pacific, is the only explanation. It's time to Wargaming begin to fix this shit game.
Up to tier 6 it's all fine, then around tier 7 issues with making money start and continue all the way to tier 9, however when I reach tier 10, I play it anyway for most of the time. Yes, earnings are meagre, but I play arties, thus it's mostly a complete loss of vehicle or survival without much repairs (usually, but I play risky, thus coming under fire isn't uncommon either), and it also impacts spending on rounds - gold isn't much needed on arties. The rest of the "trick" is helping your team to win as a support class.
P.S. Besides, it's all about fun, and I REALLY hate game play on heavy tanks! I don't care, how "meta" they are currently, I don't like them, thus I seldom ever play them (unlike the very beginnings, when I started by going up to some German heavies). Mediums are jacks of all trades, they feel fine. TDs... they are specialised and don't really fit me most of the time. Light may feel nice, but I'm afraid to fail team by not being a good spotter. Heavies are just awful given their slow speed, besides it feels unfair being rewarded for stupidity of opponents - when they simply fail to penetrate you. And no, complaining about lack of speed while playing arties is not an oxymoron or an irony, I just pick fast ones with mobility high enough to quickly switch flanks or run around whole map.
Noticeable exceptions are KV-2 and KV-5, while they are still heavies, they are meant for fun.
I believe t 10 is in a good spot. You most certainly can play em. I even spam gold only from time to time (switch to 2 key for the entire game) as well as using food (for my Chadpanzer E 100, 82% moe rn, just aiming for 85% because marking is toxic for your mental health)
The dynamic is kinda boring though as i'll have to farm up with my premium vehicles for an entire day once more.
The simple key to a stable t10 gameplay is bond store. Get 1 prem tank, then get another. Make sure at least one has a reliable standard ammo (like my T 103, love it) because that means profit. Furthermore, i have stocked up on some credit boosters, 80, and use them whenever i get a free prem acc which is easy to get nowadays (missions for T55A for example, TD and SPG missions are the easiest thing ever). To get the most out of a prem acc, make sure you only get 1 day prem acc from missions (avoid the honors for missions) because if you stretch it, 4-6 hours before servers restart time is enough for 5 x3 boosts to be applied and then tomorrow you can apply them again, which means 1 day of prem is 10 x3 exp bonuses.
My 2 bond tanks are T 103 and T-34-3, both tanks are goated and work very well for me at least. Also, both can overmatch very well and hit noticeably, meaning even gold ammo isnt so bad to use when in a pinch. I plan on getting a 3rd bond tank now, got 7k bonds already. Thinking between Patriot and 252 U because a heavy tank can afford to get more involved into action if you know what i mean. 252 U can go in while Patriot is just too comfy to play because of hulldown, gun depression, fast reload and dirt cheap standard ammo so i'll have to decide on that.
Fact is, w/o playing t9/10, you won't get much bounds to be able to get new tanks or equipments in the long run, which means that, for f2p players, the limit might be on t7/t9 as t8 is polluted by premium tanks firing gold (which is a nonsense).
I'm playing t10 too and seldom use gold ammo because it just doesn't feel right and, as I'm still learning the game, using standard ammo is the way to learn to aim. W/o gold ammo nor consummables, but having premium, playing t10 is not that costly, but the win rate is harsh.
For me, spamming gold is for lazy players or those who love big numbers (or try marking their tanks). Really good players, like QB, DKZ or Skill, seldom use gold.
New players spamming gold are the whales but, I think, they'll spend a lot of money and get tired of the game quicker as it's 'too easy'. For WG, they are their best customers, so that's for them they put regular loot boxes and events to keep them spamming $$.
Your calculation o the net profit regarding NO premium account is wrong, because the displayed number is wrong (it is the same as with premium account). The gross earned credits are actually 57453/1.5 = 38302. Ignoring the mission payout and subtracting repairs, ammo and consumables you actually end up losing credits (net result is -4904 credits). This just shows how fcked up the economy is at tier X without a premium account. You can have an exceptional round and still lose credits. It is ridiculous. So basically in order to make credits at tier X you gotta make sure that you win the battle AND survive with very little or no damage received.
And god forbid you fire any gold rounds, in that case playing tier X is like playing an anti-premium tank with regard to credit income.
I have WG premium which covers all three games. I find that playing tier 9 and 10 requires about 2-3 tier 7-8 premium tank battles to pay for each tier 10 battle. I carry mostly standard ammunition with a maybe 5-7 gold rounds which I try to avoid using. Out 30,000+ battles i have played less than 200 Tier 10 battles. Unless you are spamming gold for the most part, it's is very hard to make a difference at tier 10.
Hi QB, I play WoT on the Xbox and have done for 8yrs now, I would consider myself a average player, I have good games and bad games, but I’m no sweat at the game, I play for a couple of hours some days and others a game or two, but I would definitely disagree with your opinion and say you can play at T10 and not lose money, my account has a bank balance of 76m credits and 136k of free XP, yes at mo I’ve got 3k in gold but that was a gift for my brother. I have about 30 T10 vehicles, 3 British heavies, about 5 Russian T10 vehicles, 2 German etc etc, but I play them on a very regular basis, one tank I’ve clocked up one 1,500 games in it, so yes I would say that it is possible to play T10 and have fun and make money in the game
I have played every second game Premium-tank and then "something else", usually Tier 10. Then I balance it quite fine WITH a premium account.... Withoug, I guess I would have to play 2xPremium Tank (which you have to purchase, usually) and then 1 game of "something else".
As a kinda free to play player (i have bought some months of premium acc in the the past and i have bought 2 vehicles the WZ-120-1 FT and the Dicker Max both on sale) so i have spent 40-60 euros in my acc but i play form 2013. So i dont think i have a lot in common with the wot whales and i have a lot in common with the avarage free to play player with limited Credits and few premium tanks from events and bonds .So my point is that tier V and VI SPG are the biggest moneymakers for the causual player. They dont need a ton of money to resupply and ammo because HE is cheap and there is no premium in those vehicles and in most battles if you are good and lucky you will win and take 0 dmg so no repair .Plus wot rewords assists dmg and dmg the same so you make money without a LEGENDARY play. That my opinion and that was my thought to the fact that wargaming doesnt release SPG premium vehicles (besides the tier V french one)

Yes it's frustrating playing agaisnt all those gold noobs that just spam gold and go straight through your mantlet
And i do run low on credits sometimes but i balance with premium days i get with battle passe/events and premium tanks to make credits.
But that's the deal you make when playing WOT... bots, arts, gold noobs, bad maps, pen indicator, and OP tanks whadayawant...
Hi Quicky, been F2P since the start of my account. Not a single euro spend, but managed to scrap together some premiums from the bondstore/ trade ins with gold from the free christmas chest. I think you can do T10 F2P, but you'll need to pick your tanks big time. Full gold tanks are a no go and prem consumables won't do either. Mostly need to run 2-3 T8 battles for each 0-15 steamroll at t10 in which you lose a lot.
For me playing T10 is a mixed bag. Some of my T10 tanks like the Amx M4 54 can turn me a profit in most games even at my skill level. But I found that it really depends on how you spec your tank. The moment you put a premium consumable on you NEED to have amazing games in order to earn money. I run food on my Progetto 65 and if I don't do 4k+ damage a game I will lose money for sure.
In my experience, unless you are a unicorn player that averages 5k combined EVERY game, use the small repair/med kit and no premium consumable and NEVER fire anything but standard ammo AND NEVER die you will barely make a profit. If you're a normal 50% player it's almost impossible.

Armour means nothing at tier 10. If you don’t use premium then you’re at a massive disadvantage.

You can't even play the game competitively as a free to play player, let alone play the game for free. Many tank classes aren't even worth attempting to play anymore. Tier 7 lights are pointless as Bourasques outspot them,or many other premium pay to win tanks. Low tier games are dominated by TD's which outspot any and all tanks and make the games into one big camp fest with players literally camping at the furthest point of the map.
Recently earning bonus BP points at low tiers I'm constantly looking behind at the start of the game and seeing the entire team camped at the line which is furthest back and then they get squeezed into a corner and farmed by players who have better crew skills and can spot them. It's madness and WG have caused it all.
Then there is this new night time mode, a benefit for heavy tank players and idiots who like to rush straight into the enemy but from the games I played to get my bonds it has ZERO benefit to anyone else.
The game has been steered more and more towards heavy tanks and corridor maps or CQB in every other aspect of the map, personally I find heavy tank play SO BORING, if your'e up against another good player then its just boring peekaboo and sniping until one of you either spams more gold or gets luckier with the shots OR whichever of you is playing the most OP tank.
They haven't increased the map size since the game was started BUT now everyone can spot everyone from the back of the map because of crew skills and equipment, almost makes playing on open maps which a stripped of camo a joke.
Then you have the games where everyone just HIDES, and i mean HIDES behind the buildings that can't be destroyed.....
It's no wonder there is constant rumours of the company going out of business, I'm just amazed it's still going, BUT the same could be said for many online games that are being kept alive like zombies by players that have invested so much of their time and money into the game.
Roll on Christmas and my weeks worth of premium time......
This is why I will never play tier 10. For a f2p player like myself, that's also managed to average about 54-56% wins across 2 accounts, I can really only play up to maybe tier 8 before I start losing credits. Even down at tier 8, I've managed to just barely break even after some 1000+ base experience games. It definitely takes a lot of the fun out of trying to progress and we wonder why there are a lot of low tier seal clubbers lol
Yes, I've been doing it for years, my WN8 doesn't drop below 3000 when playing for free, I'm gaining credits even with tier 10 and I also use large repair, medic kits and fire extinguisher, I just don't fire gold often and I have good games...
If you are a tomato then you can't play tier 10 even with premium account and not go bankrupt
I played in my account for free untill last christmas when I finally could pay a bit, bought me some lootboxes and had premium for the last 6 months, I grinded more tier 10s than I did since I was playing in 2015. finally understood that it's not a hard game, it's just easier when paying. now that I run out of premium, I have like 19 millions in the account, so I can play comfortably for the next year. Great game, fucked because the advantages when paying are too much.
On the ine hand, I kinda get it. You need to incentivize players to keep playing lower tiers in order to maintain lower tier matchmaking for newer players. And WG needs to make money for the game to even exist. Is the balance right? I don't know.
I do know that, as a ftp, my Tier 10's mostly collect dust. It usually takes me a few games with a tank in a session to get settled in with it. Which means I risk seriously setting back my credit grind every time I want to play a Tier 10. But also, since that means I'm not very experienced at Tier 10 play, I have an extra disincentive because I feel like I'll be a detriment to my team.
I can play 8 pretty sustainably. 9 feels dicier, but not to the point where I worry overmuch about it. But 10 is a place I feel very disincentivized to play.

5 6 and 7 are the ideal tiers imo. a shame tanks like the Tiger 2, the Pershing and the AMX-13-75 are on tier 8 forcing me to go on this atrocity of a tier filled with all sorts of fake bullcrap to play against. but OH. WELL. i bought the Kuro Tiger 2 at tier 7 just to avoid playing tier 8 entirely.
most real tanks i love and enjoy are between tier 5 to 7 so. i pay no mind to the disgrace tier 8 and above is. its like a different game. and it kind of annoys me when wargaming tries to push these armchair tank designer fake delusional tanks on lower tier, keep these abominations at 8 and above. dont ruin mid-tier.
WOT is such a sewer of a game now. Especially the fixed mm when 70% of the games are total blowouts. XVM shows that those teams that win always have the more skilled players. For the casual player this isn't fun anymore where you end up just being cannon fodder game after game, no matter how hard you try. That's the #1 reason WOT is dying, not to mention the OP premium tanks that out class the regular tech tree tanks.

the mission and 750 safe where not even included ,there where different, and as a hardcore lightplayer after 10k battles in lights only ,ow boy the un nerfed hellcat was a guarantee win sinds i would go after the dangerouse tanks first, good times ,

Just a question did wargaming affect credit making in the last 6months because i play about a month now (i was on a 9month break from the game) and cant make any money without premium time. I played a good game (1.5k dmg 4 kills) with dicker max (premium tank) and got 11k credits like wtf?Didnt use premium consumable or any gold rounds either
With premium account and specific tier IX tanks that do not need premium ammo or have free repair kits, I can manage to play those and not lose money most of the time. That even without getting all discounts for resuppling consumables and running food. This includes credits you get back. If I am not wrong, 2.5K damage and 1K assist is there about breaking even. I mean, your worst game shouldn't go under it. Then good games will give you some room. You definitely do not want 5 minute games where your team is over ruined and you have done under 2K damage because then you need lot of good games to compensate and with way games go nowadays that's not easy for someone who is not super unicum.
On the other hand, tier IX tanks that have weak ammo just become total money sinks. Sane goes for the tank's that has unreliable guns. Big RNG variations just cost credits and are there to milk the money and regulate the economy in the game.
I started WoT in early 2011 and it's ALWAYS been known to me that you play the lower tiers to fund and play the high tiers. 💯 That was driven home that summer and it's always how I've operated. Mind you the earning potential for tiers 9 and 10 have vastly improved.

Why does everyone talking about losing credits so much? I play T10 pretty often and RARELY lose credits and if so, the most ive ever lost was like 20k bcs i was firing gold. Just dont use food, gold and all these expensive consumables + try to not die and you wont lose, or its not gonna be that bad.
Free to play in wot? How can you lie to and cheat the players like that? Your storytellers suggest this crap to sell this crappy game to other ignorant people. Wargaming is a pure rip-off company. They don't care about having fun playing, they only care about making money. The most unfair matchmaking hasn't changed for years, more and more missed shots in the game and more and more junk tanks. Bro I won as a T95 in a Tier IX-X game with 7k damage and 3 kills but at the cost of some consumables, ammo replenishment and vehicle repair. I only got 2k profit with my standard account despite using standard ammo. You start losing money or getting low returns after Tier 7. Tier X is a loss almost every game without premium accounts or tanks.
Exactly the reason I quit. It's just not possible for me to play a lot and get all the bonuses. I just wanted to be able to casually play some games of world of tanks and get on with life again. But tier 8, 9, 10 even with good games you make such small amounts that as soon you have a bad game your profit is completely gone.....
And than I would have to play some rounds in premium tanks that were not strong enough anymore because of the damn overpowered ones... It's just saddening I had to quit a game I enjoy because of their greedy and shitty economics if you don't pay for premium or have enough time to get it
Consistently sustainable free to play tier vehicle, I like my 9's and my 7's which I will reasonably make credits in. (No boosters etc etc) - the reason for the 7's is that you can only up tier to 9's and a tier 8 (which you will often see) still has more than enough soft spots for you to pen and get good damage on, doing damage on upper tier vehicles grants you more exp and reward value. When I am playing in tier 9's or 10's more often than not I am forced to go into stupid sniper coward garbage stat padder style of play because the teams and players are now all tending to do that style, instead of using their armor, or their mobility or their view range (QB's video from a few days ago here commenting about the super sniper mediums that pretty well condemned his team to losing because of their cowardice and ineptitude)
Tier VI and VII are reasonable for F2P accounts... tier VIII is difficult when you factor in the horrendous defeats in unmatched sides... tier IX and X are likely to be unsustainable for most players... so it is "free to play" only at the lower tiers!!! FACT!
I'm 95% f2p, (I've bought a couple of tanks here and there over the years) and I've always thought of tier 10 as being the tier that you "get" to play as a reward for your grind. Like a vacation almost, you pay a ton of money but hopefully you have some fun. Then you go back to tier 8 and actually make some money to be able to afford to do it again
I' m losing credits on almost every game at tier 10, with premium account, improved rations, and some gold rounds fired. At the end of the day, after 15-20 games, and with a 3k wn8 rating, I m losing around 300k credits.
I cannot even play tier 8. WoT is mostly A.I enemy tanks that don’t miss on my account, the games a joke. CC’s never get to see this side of WoT. A lot of regular and even good players face this nonsense almost daily. I have stopped paying until WG sort this huge issue, it’s terrible! It’s like playing chess against a super computer.
i m playing this game for free for years.all i bought some prem tanks to make credit grind enjoiyable.using gold only with tier 9 and 10 and only for tanks what i realy cant pen,like mouse,e 100,t95 etc.if u not shoting gold and keep doing some dmg in game,you wont lose credits.without no prem and spam gold its laughable.

The main reason I don't play tier 9 and 10 (and can't be bothered to get T10 tanks). Even though I would be fodder for most of those players, I would play those tiers if not for the loss of credits. Dumb move WoT.

Well, I am F2P, not a great player, and I do not play above tier 8 because of the economic costs, I cannot afford premium time now I am retired, neither do I play as well as 10 years ago.
My E100 and IS4 have not left the garage in years.
I am 50% player, so average… I usually only have 5 gold rounds on my t10 which I only use in case of me being up against a tank I have no way of penning and like you said a 4K gold round pen is better then no pen 4 regular rounds

I rarely if ever play tier 10 because it’s not financially productive.
I look at them as “trophies” cause I’m not going broke on rigged mm.
I can play rigged mm in my tier 8 premium and still make credits.
Wg needs to fix the economy. You should never lose money playing.
