The Galaxy fans that boycotted Klein are heros. They literally changed the destiny of the team, I live in Portland and am a fan from a far but we owe those fans and especially the fan groups a lot.

Don't be ashamed Landon for the MVP award being named after you. I think you're a humble standout guy. It proved it when you won those championships with the Galaxy. You were the last guy left after the celebration ceremonies to stay and signed autographs for the kids and fans cheering for you. So for the I commend you brother. "G's-Up"! Awesome podcast, fellas 👏.
To my mind, the guy who scores the most goals (Pepi) is the best #9 for the team. But I keep hearing pundits argue that "upside" (Balogun) is the true measure. I think the Pepi/Balogun debate demonstrates that a bias in favor of the dual nationals exists among some pundits.
Agreed. I also think pundits and fans felt like we owed something to Balo because he's a dual nat and chose the US. Not true... I've been on the Pepi train all along and hope more fans come around and get on board... and of course, he has to produce... it's not a role you win for perpetuity.
If MLS Changed there schedule to a line with the rest of the world. I think it would hurt attendance very badly. Speaking for just myself I'm a Crew season ticket holder and the most dreaded games in Columbus are those early march games. I think you would see season ticket holders in cold weather city's plummet and with that attendance.
Agreed. I don’t like it either. I feel like it also completely shuts the door on pro/rel cause no one’s going to see a 2nd or 3rd division side play when it’s 20 below freezing
Great new football show on TH-cam... Enjoying the content and the vibe of the show. I have a question for y'all. What is your thought on how players qualify for countries they can represent in international play? I feel it should be a little more limited that it currently is. I would say players could play for the country they are born in and the nationality of their parents on their birth certificate. This would be more accurate to gauge a nations footballing ability. Due to the reality of migration, I would also not mind a rule that allows, for example, a player that legally lives in a country for say, 12 years before turning 18 could also represent that country. Your thoughts?
Next episode you should discuss the depth at the central midfielder position. We have an interesting group that all bring something different to the group. It feels like we have gotten to comfortable as fans in wanting to see McKennie, Adams, and Gio. They may be the best, but it feels like we haven’t really seen the depth in that position in big games.
Hey Tim & Landon - what did John Brooks do to Berhalter to get banished? I find it hard to believe he shouldnt have received a call up in the last 5ish years based on form/skill.
**Question** Why do you guys have an EPL segment? I’m aware of your history at Everton, especially TH, but given your USMNT history, both of your involvement with US based youth soccer, and desire to grow the game here, why not have a segment on US based players in the USL league or even up and coming college players??? Love the pod! Former GK’er here, Timmy love ya brother. Would love an episode one day on everything GK position. -Will Poz
I still think MLS took a step back going to an Apple TV contract. That paired with Messi coming to the league feels like the older thinking of just drawing tons of people to the platform in order to see one player play. I'd love to watch MLS games, but I'm not and many people I talk to are not willing to buy another streaming service in order to watch it. I think that slowed it's growth in viewership significantly. Been loving the podcast guys, keep it up, and it was great to see Stu on here this week!
I agree to a certain point but it wasn't easy to watch an LA Galaxy game in LA, there was black outs some games were shown in different channels or ESPN +, it was very annoying.
@@maximusilive4theking986 I've really disliked the whole concept of blackouts forever. Growing up they made it hard to watch Columbus Crew and later Cincy FC matches. How long until streaming picks up the same idea based on where you live and we're running vpns to spoof our location and so on? The way things are split up across streaming services I've really had to just look for the best value for myself and go with that one. That all said clearly viewership wasn't that affected given the numbers for this MLS Cup so maybe more people were willing to pick up a subscription than I thought.
QUESTION: Do you think being a professional footballer is a attainable goal for young kids in america, considering the favoritism torwards travel ball and kids with more money for more exposure.
@Tim the goat, Soto is absolutely over paid. Really good hitter but that is all. Offers nothing else. As for the years thing, unfortunately to land a free agent you gotta go long on the years. Mets would have preferred 10 years no doubt but then they would not have landed him and he would have signed elsewhere to a team that would. It’s the nature of the beast.
Juan Soto is not worth the contract he received, Ohtani is worth that kind of money, because 1st it's deferred and 2nd because of the money he brings to the Dodgers for the new associations they have with Japanese companies, all the sales they will get with ohtani gear, etc... Mets are not going to get that with Soto, not to mention Ohtani is just way better than Soto, too bad Ohtani was hurt during the WS, it would have been worse for the Yankees, Ohtani hurt was still a difference maker, Soto is just not worth it

Thanks for listening 🔥🔥
to be fair, MLS also has more teams than most top-flight leagues, so the better metric would be attendance divided by number of teams
LA Galaxy love fest ❤ also good to see Stu on, one of my fav former players

Great coverage. Some of the best MLS coverage on this show.
Landon Donovan was my favorite player in the world as a kid in 2002 I thought he was on the same level as R9 as a kid.
@ he is in my eyes

I'm a Pepi fan also and it was hard to see Balo us the USMNT as a bargaining chip to try and get on England's squad. Plus Pepi has grit and produces.
Damn😢 u can see the pain of losing yrs of career from Stu when he talks about his ACL history
Stu was insanely good. Stud even with his injuries, but imagine the legend he could’ve been

Solid show, gents! Go Galaxy!!!
Love your podcast. Keep it coming.
Great show guys. Subscribed.
Die hard crew fan and love what we have done over the years with the academy team and crew 2 and also bringing in great signings
Helluva pod boys, keep up the great work. Cheers
Being from the Midwest, my law school graduation present was tickets to see Galaxy at Sounders in 2014, so I could see Donovan play a club game!
Congratulations LA galaxy! We’re back baby!
