The ambition, good work ethic, creativity, cleverness that leads to a nice exit - those traits do not 'retire.' If you try to retire you'll probably find that out. The novelty of having nothing productive to do when you wake up each day wears off quickly. Part of it is - "If I could do that, maybe I haven't been applying myself enough" Having independent financial means and no job and investments is not going to put a permanent smile on your face. The qualities that get you there need to be used, continually. If you're willing to confront it, you might say "I want to be productive up to the day before my final day." As you listen to AJ, you sense that he's not overjoyed. He's not jumping up and down and high-fiving everyone. The luxury to choose what you work at is the best outcome. But the ability to keep working is a blessing. Try taking a 6 month long vacation and see how it feels before you 'retire' I hope he finds a new, engrossing gig. .
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos lately after recently discovering your channel. I am enjoying your content and most of all your message about serving other people. With regards to AJ Patel, I’ve seen 2 interviews with him. Very motivating to hear his story but I found it odd that I wasn’t able to find any articles from mainstream media outlets about his successful exit of Zesty Paws. I was only able to find published PR press releases from Zesty Paws.
Hi Ryan, I live in Poland. I will sell my product on the German market. I would like you to advise me on what language to use when building a community in social media? I speak English much better than German. People living in Germany also know English, but it is not their mother tongue.
I literally got nothing from this video, I'm 36 minutes in and I still have no idea what businesses he has and what he actually does, it's all just hypotheticals and detail-less stories. I'm not trying to be a hater here but the interview with Moiz Ali was golden and this is a long way away so maybe have a look at what was done there and try to keep those types of questions and avodd these.
His story is motivational. It’s not intended to be a business class for you. Unfortunately, there is something else strange about his story: There are no articles from mainstream media about him and his success. After a google search all I found were articles that are published on websites that allow anyone to pay to publish their own press releases.
At time 17:30, AJ mentions "Zesty" If you look up "Zesty AJ Patel" one story is from the Aug. 29, 2021 Forbes issue, *_"Feel-Good Deal: Zesty Paws $610M Sale Shows Potential Of Pet Wellness Market"_* Towards the bottom of the article it says: "Zesty Paws, which was created by entrepreneur A.J. Patel, originally was part of his Zenwise dietary supplements and digestive enzymes for humans company. The two brands then split into separate companies." But even without that article, it was obvious from the interview he was legit. His demeanor, the way he answered questions, and Ryan's awareness and interaction with AJ in the past - it was just clear, "need to listen to this guy" Now that you know this is legit, if you go back and listen, you can learn from and avoid tough lessons, and perhaps save yourself a lot of pain/frustration. Maybe the biggest takeaway was "You're going to try lots of things. DON'T ABDICATE AUTHORITY/RESPONSIBILITY. Get involved, know the business better than anyone, don't abdicate by 'hiring a CEO who knows better than me what to do'
Thanks a million for everything Ryan. This content is gold. 🙏
Thank you for the interview Ryan.
love love love your content! Thank you! I dream about it that one day I will be there at the one percent conference.
Thank you!! Are you in the one percent yet?
@@RyanDanielMoran not there yet.

His product, Zesty Paws, is sold at Target. It's pretty mainstream. 🙄
