The viper has always been my childhood dream... in encountering the chance to drive one, I realized as I looked up from the snug seat of a gen 4 convertible that my eyes were dead even with the top bezel of the windshield and that perhaps I needed to try and remember if there might be any slightly larger fit & finish dream cars from my childhood I’d forgotten about that might work a little better ergonomically 😂 to this day, the answer remains no. This was always the pinnacle, just as my head would be from side-view if ever I pilot one.

To me Vipers were great examples of a GT car, it's exotic but it also is reliable enough and fun to take on a trip (if you're not particular about adding miles, I'm not, cars are made to be driven). I also like the mentality Sean has of preferring to have a salvage car that he built that he doesn't have to feel as bad about damaging, changing around, etc. The car I have right now that I've been building is an RX8 with a turbocharged 3l Ford/Yamaha SHO V6. It's clean title but I bought the car as a roller with no motor/trans, grabbed a SHO and refreshed it, threw a turbo and MegaSquirt on it with a 5 speed manual and it's putting out 450hp to the wheels. I opted for a V6 over an inline 6 or V8 to avoid steering rack issues, I had other options but I love the high rev'ing sound of the SHO engine, it's hard to beat.

Don't look at it as the guy who could scratch or damage a Viper, look at it as the guy who put a Viper back on the road!!
I've never built or owned anything expensive, but I've pulled countless cars out of the woods and Fields and put them back on the road. Vehicles were built to be driven. In my opinion they're useless at showpieces unless they are extremely rare pieces.
Thank you for getting it out of the garage, and thank you to the daughter for letting it live its life as it should be!!

Amen. Owned and sold 3 Srt4’s in my life so far, last one had 28k original miles on it when I bought it for 3k. Thing was absolutely mint. Bought it from the sweetest little old couple in Massachusetts, it was their sons and he had passed and it was a sore reminder for them seeing it in the garage all the time. They made me swear up and down that I was going to do the right thing with it, I guess it’s just something about those little cars that click with certain people. 🤔

Too nice for me, that's my story on the 87 911 I sold. It was a great car and was in great shape and became more valuable than a person like me should own. I started driving it everywhere and then came to the realization that its difficult to insure and drive a classic car 10 or 15 k miles every year if you start thinking about what happens if someone hits you and destroys it. Anyway, if you like to drive cars, they cannot be very nice classic cars without it being a huge risk financially. Now I only drive disposable cars.

From the guy who was a fart in the wind as a Viper owner. All talk and no real Viper game. These guys are a dime a dozen that buy these cars for two seconds, act like they love them and have passion for them and then instantly sell them! What a joke!
